Chapter 120: Chapter 119: I Want to Kiss You
Zhao Meimei followed Shi Yang into the car. She leaned against the passenger window, her face pressed against the glass, watching Qu Chaozong and Zhang Xin talking face-to-face.
She only turned around once the car drove away and they were out of sight.
Zhao Meimei asked, "Brother, is Sister Xin going to be my sister-in-law?"
Shi Yang held the steering wheel and chuckled at the thought. "Not necessarily."
Zhao Meimei sighed, "If Brother Chao is really with Sister Xin, it’s actually quite good, after all, Sister Xin is so beautiful."
Her tone shifted as she spoke, "Brother, in a woman’s eyes, who is more handsome, you or Brother Chao?"
Shi Yang glanced sideways at her, "You’re the woman, you’re asking me? Who do you think is more handsome between the two of us?"
Zhao Meimei thought for a few seconds, "I definitely think you’re handsome, but in others’ eyes, probably Brother Chao is a bit more handsome."
Shi Yang snorted, "Who says so?"
Under Zhao Meimei’s thin eyelids, her eyes moved slightly, "Otherwise, why wouldn’t any woman fancy you? Even Sister Xin fancies Brother Chao."
Shi Yang coldly replied, "Who says no woman fancies me?"
Zhao Meimei tightened her brows, her voice brisk, "Those who fancy you aren’t good-looking, at least not as good-looking as Sister Xin."
Shi Yang’s gaze slid from the corner of his eye, catching a glance at Zhao Meimei’s pouting lips, his eyes revealing a smile, "That’s because you only see Zhang Xin."
Zhao Meimei’s hand at her side clenched secretly, "Who else is more beautiful than Sister Xin?"
Shi Yang’s lips twitched slightly, teasing, "You are! Who can be more beautiful than our Meimei?"
Zhao Meimei felt a surge of delight internally, revealing a bright smile, feigning modesty, "Actually, I’m not as good-looking as you say."
Shi Yang held back a laugh, "Hmm, I’m just saying that to make you happy."
Zhao Meimei’s smile froze on her face, turning her head to look at Shi Yang, just as he turned to look at her. Seeing his faint smile, all her emotions turned into emptiness.
The cabin was dark, with moonlight casting in from the window, faintly illuminating their softened facial contours, making Shi Yang’s dark and bright eyes stand out even more.
Zhao Meimei stared for a long time, until the red light made the car stop.
Shi Yang relaxed his posture and turned to Zhao Meimei, "Why are you staring at me like that?"
Zhao Meimei smacked her lips, "Brother, you really are too handsome."
Shi Yang raised the corners of his mouth in a smile, "Really that handsome, huh?"
Zhao Meimei nodded seriously, "Yup."
The red light turned green, and the car started moving again.
Zhao Meimei’s gaze slowly moved from Shi Yang’s eyes down to his high nose bridge, finally fixing on his lips and chin.
Shi Yang’s chin was always neatly shaven, unlike other men who had a faint blue stubble.
Teenage girls at this age, though naive, are extremely devoted and focused. Ever since Zhao Meimei’s heart first fluttered, the person she liked was her Brother Yangyang. Every time she saw him, she felt a deep longing from her whole being, an unexplainable happiness.
As time went on, these feelings gradually evolved from the initial ignorance to a complete awakening, growing deeper and deeper until she was completely immersed and unable to extricate herself.
Zhao Meimei fell in love with her Brother Yangyang, no longer just liking or being infatuated, but deeply loving him.
The car stopped by the greenbelt, and Shi Yang got out to accompany Zhao Meimei upstairs.
In the pitch-black, narrow corridor, the two walked one behind the other, with Zhao Meimei in front, her hand reaching back to firmly hold her Brother Yangyang’s hand.
One step, two steps... until they stood in front of their home.
Zhao Meimei stood on the platform, suddenly stopping, Shi Yang followed and stood on the steps two steps lower.
Zhao Meimei turned around and met Shi Yang’s gaze on the same level.
Shi Yang raised his eyebrows at her, not asking why she didn’t knock but just standing still in cooperation.
Zhao Meimei looked at him deeply and released his hand.
She walked forward two steps, pulled out her keys from her pocket, quickly inserted them into the lock with the faint light from the corridor window, then swiftly turned around, stepping in front of Shi Yang and softly calling, "Brother!"
From behind the door, Liu Xiue’s voice came, "Is Meimei back?"
At the same time, Zhao Meimei quickly, lightly said, "Brother, I want to kiss you."
Before Shi Yang could react, she suddenly reached out, cupping Shi Yang’s face, her lips lightly pressing against his, just once, quickly pulling away.
Footsteps came from inside the door, Zhao Meimei swiftly rushed over, twisted the lock open, pulled the door open, and darted inside. At the moment she turned around, soft, bright light from inside the room shone onto Shi Yang’s handsome face.
Their eyes met, Zhao Meimei’s heart jumped fiercely. She quickly turned her head back, pulling the door shut.
The door separated their lines of sight.
Inside and outside the door, both hearts simultaneously lost their rhythm.
Shi Yang stood still, the brightness before him re-disappeared, the pitch-black night obscured his facial expression, yet his eyes alone shone with ecstatic light.
Shi Yang slowly raised his hand, gently touching his lips, as if still hearing that deep, slightly nervous and shy voice in his ear, Brother, I want to kiss you.
Shi Yang’s face suddenly blossomed with a smile, revealing a bright grin. He turned, softening his steps, slowly walking down the steps.
Exiting the corridor, the unique late-autumn wind blew past, cold yet cool, which Shi Yang didn’t feel at all. He turned to look at the pitch-black corridor behind him, a warmth grew within his heart.
Zhao Meimei closed the door, her hand gripping the doorknob, standing still for a long time, her heart beating chaotically. She pressed her lips tightly, as if if she didn’t, her heart would jump out of her throat.
"Meimei? Why aren’t you coming in, what are you doing standing there?" Liu Xiue asked.
Zhao Meimei suddenly came to her senses, guiltily turned around and bowed her head to change her shoes, "I ran too fast just now, I’m catching my breath."
Putting on slippers, Zhao Meimei forgot how she got into the house, what questions she answered from her mother, or how she drank a cup of milk, washed up, and returned to her room.
All she knew was that she curled up on her bed, hugging her quilt, fingers pressed against her lips, even with her mind in a mess, she remembered to just lightly wipe her face with a towel when washing, reluctant to use water on her mouth and secretly didn’t brush her teeth.
Like a fool intoxicated by emotions, she hugged her quilt, gently touching her lips again and again, recalling the moment their lips touched, and the taste of her heart pounding wildly.
Her Brother Yangyang’s lips were soft, or maybe not so soft, she couldn’t remember clearly anymore. When she thought carefully, was it a kiss? Did she kiss him?
Zhao Meimei whimpered with a bite at the quilt corner, grinding her teeth like a little mouse.
She definitely kissed him.
