Chapter 127: Chapter 126 For Anitaqing and He’s Jade + More 5

Qu Chaozong raised his eyebrow, laughed, understanding the "girlfriend" Shi Yang was referring to were good women other than Zhang Xin.

"If it weren’t for you always wanting to switch partners, with me being busy like a dog every day, maybe there’d already be kids crawling around now."

Shi Yang chuckled, kicked him: "Get lost! Don’t blame this on me."

The taxi arrived, Shi Yang, wearing little, got in first, while Qu Chaozong hailed another one shortly after. Leaning against the warm seat, he soon became drowsy.

"Sir? Sir! We’re here!"

Qu Chaozong groggily woke up, disoriented, becoming aware they had arrived.

He paid the fare, got out of the car, the cold wind making his scalp feel icy. Instinctively, he shrank his neck, shivering from the sudden change in temperature, instantly waking him up.

As he closed the car door, the taxi sped off, and just as Qu Chaozong was about to leave, he suddenly realized his leg was numb.

"Damn!" He bent over, pounded his leg, the movement causing a tingling pain.

Standing there, he managed a few activities, waiting for the sensation to pass, letting out a silent breath of relief, and then looked up, stunned.

Zhang Xin wore a white short down jacket, tight leather pants below, her long hair draping down, accentuating her dainty face.

Her carefully styled eyebrows slightly furrowed, standing a few steps away from him, gazing directly at him.

Seeing Zhang Xin, Qu Chaozong suddenly got a headache.

Honestly, Zhang Xin was indeed a beauty, tangled with her, Qu Chaozong was the one in advantage, but the problem was, he had to dare take that advantage!!

To him, Zhang Xin was like a pretty-packaged grenade, once touched, imminent destruction was possible, the only matter was time.

Qu Chaozong usually spoke crudely, looking carefree externally, but he actually only had one girlfriend from high school to university.

In this love affair, he was the one who invested deeply, and also the one who got dumped in the end.

Years of relationship shattered, leaving him shattered, distrusting women deeply in his bones, yet he was a normal man.

As long as a man is pursued by a beauty, there’s no one who can really resist. No matter how hard one tries, the heart always feels like there’s a little hand scratching occasionally, tickling, blood boiling.

Qu Chaozong was truly afraid of this tickling, genuinely not wanting to get involved with Zhang Xin, though he spoke casually, his own heart was well aware that once he got involved, he would be the disadvantaged one.

As Qu Chaozong looked helplessly at Zhang Xin, she also gazed intently at him.

Qu Chaozong wrapped in a mid-length down jacket, shrunken neck from the cold, his previously mid-length hair, presumably for convenience, cut short, making his features even more pronounced.

Strictly speaking, Qu Chaozong wasn’t particularly handsome, especially since he frequently hung out with the exceptionally handsome Shi Yang.

However, Qu Chaozong’s smile was particularly captivating, possessing a mischievous charm that really caught people’s heart.

Zhang Xin had many boyfriends before, someone like Qu Chaozong, she had tried, but those people didn’t hold special attraction for her.

Because their badness was external, but Qu Chaozong was different. Beneath his flirtatious appearance, like a cabbage with hidden inner layers, there was a genuine and honest core that was unexpectedly amusing.

Thinking of this, Zhang Xin smiled slightly, a hint of playful amusement in her eyes.

In the instant their eyes met, Qu Chaozong was the first to give up. He wasn’t afraid of making eye contact with women, the key was Zhang Xin’s gaze was too blatant. Did this woman not know shame?

Qu Chaozong was genuinely impressed, walking towards the street restaurant, planning to eat a bowl of beef noodles, had filled his stomach with alcohol earlier, feeling uncomfortable, also not wanting to bother his mother to cook in the middle of the night.

As Zhang Xin walked over, she stayed quiet, silently following behind him into the restaurant, sitting opposite him.

Qu Chaozong sighed deeply inside, raised his eyebrow asking: "Having some?"

The small shop was quite run-down, yet there were many customers, the whole place filled with the rich fragrance of braised beef, very enticing.

Zhang Xin sniffed, nodded: "Yes."

Despite being called beef noodles, it merely contained two thumb-sized pieces of braised beef and half a salted egg, the bowl edges greasy and looking unappetizing.

Zhang Xin holding chopsticks stirred the noodles, losing her appetite completely.

Looking up at Qu Chaozong across, slurping noodles, she stared blankly.

The alcohol-abused stomach eased slightly when filled with food, Qu Chaozong exhaled deeply, held up the bowl intending to drink some soup, only to have his bowl edge stopped by clean chopstick tips.

Qu Chaozong half-raised his head, deep brows furrowing, revealing half his face from behind the bowl edge.

Zhang Xin pursed her lips, softly reminding: "Don’t drink, the bowl is dirty."

Qu Chaozong hesitated, his gaze sliding from the chopsticks to Zhang Xin’s face, almost sarcastically smiling, leaning toward the chopsticks, slamming the bowl to his lips, gulping the fragrant meat soup, then pulling out a napkin to wipe his mouth, contentedly burping.

Zhang Xin glared at him with disgust.

Qu Chaozong glanced at her untouched noodle bowl, coldly chuckling: "Next time, if you’re not eating, don’t order. It wastes money, and food too."

Zhang Xin stared at him, keeping silent.

Qu Chaozong took out his wallet, counted the money, placing it on the table, called: "Boss, check please!"

He stood up, casually saying: "You’ve never heard of curing meal with its own broth, eh? Tsk!"

Qu Chaozong donned his down jacket, walking briskly out of the shop.

Zhang Xin sat on the chair, pausing, only then standing to chase after him. Once outside, she saw Qu Chaozong waiting for her, turned sideways.

Zhang Xin’s eyes reflected amusement, hastened steps to catch up.

Qu Chaozong suddenly asked: "Did you drive here?"

Zhang Xin shook her head.

Qu Chaozong frowned: "Taking a cab?"

Zhang Xin nodded.

Qu Chaozong ceased speaking, turned towards the roadside.

Zhang Xin hesitated briefly, then followed closely.

Qu Chaozong flagged down a taxi, motioned Zhang Xin to get in with a nod.

Zhang Xin’s expression darkened, glaring at Qu Chaozong.

Qu Chaozong raised an eyebrow: "I drank a lot tonight, don’t want to sleep on the couch."

Zhang Xin smiled: "You don’t have to sleep."

Qu Chaozong cursed internally, slammed the door, turning to Zhang Xin: "What exactly do you want?"

Zhang Xin stared directly, speechless.

Qu Chaozong felt his stomach beginning to churn again, gestured to the driver: "Sorry, we’re not going now!"

The taxi driver perhaps sensing the situation said nothing, driving off.
