Chapter 327: The Brink Of Self-destruction
Listening to Feng Xiyan and Bai Hanyun’s conversation from the outside, Xiao Cui silently counted to one hundred before signaling the maidservants. At her cue, they entered the room with their heads lowered.
Xiao Cui curtsied at them, then gently said, "Miss Bai, Young Master, please wait a moment. We will fill the bathtub now."
Unaware of how ambiguous Xiao Cui’s words sounded, Bai Hanyun simply smiled and said, "Thank you, Xiao Cui."
After digging a deep hole for Bai Hanyun to jump in, Xiao Cui looked at the maidservants and instructed, "Be careful not to spill water on the floor."
"Yes, Miss Xiao Cui," they answered, carrying the buckets to fill the tub.
Before long, they finished and left. Xiao Cui added, "Miss Bai, Young Master, the hot water is ready. Please enjoy your time."
She then closed the door behind her, leaving the two alone.
Sitting before Feng Xiyan, Bai Hanyun scratched her cheek and muttered, "Why did Xiao Cui’s words sound so strange?"
Though inexperienced in romance, Feng Xiyan had seen enough of his parents’ relationship to understand the hidden meaning of Xiao Cui’s words.
The moment he heard Xiao Cui’s words, countless indecent scenes unsuitable for children flashed in his mind, turning his ears red.
Coughing lightly to hide his shameful thoughts, Feng Xiyan stood stiffly and blurted, "Miss Bai, I will go bathe now."
Without waiting for her reply, he rushed into the side room as if fleeing from a million enemies.
Watching him run away, Bai Hanyun calmly called out, "Feng Xiyan, if you need help, just call me. I will wait for you here."
Her casual words made Feng Xiyan’s hand freeze on the edge of his robe. After a long silence, he looked down, then slowly closed his eyes in despair.
’Looks like I need to see Physician Yan again tomorrow. If this continues, I’m afraid I will become useless.’
Unaware that her words had sent Feng Xiyan to the brink of self-destruction, Bai Hanyun calmly sipped the fragrant tea and nibbled the snacks Xiao Cui had prepared.
When Bai Hanyun finished her second cup of tea, Feng Xiyan finally walked out of the side room.
Seeing his rosy complexion, she smiled and said, "You must be hungry. I will have the servants prepare a meal."
After saying that, she called out, "Xiao Cui."
Entering the room, Xiao Cui curtsied. "Miss Bai, what are your instructions?"
"Please ask the kitchen to serve the meal and bring a bowl of ginger soup."
"Yes, Miss Bai."
After Xiao Cui left, Bai Hanyun poured a cup of hot tea and said, "Feng Xiyan, come drink some tea to warm yourself."
Hearing this, Feng Xiyan smiled to himself. ’I wonder if Miss Bai realizes how much she looks like my wife right now.’
Thinking back to what he had done while bathing, Feng Xiyan let out a long, quiet sigh. ’How wonderful it would be if she truly is my wife.’
While he was sighing, Bai Hanyun raised her brows slightly and said, "Why are you just standing there? Come sit and drink this tea."
Snapping out of his thoughts, Feng Xiyan obediently walked to the table and sat beside her. Taking a sip of the tea, he kept glancing at Bai Hanyun.
Noticing his glances, Bai Hanyun chuckled.
She supported her chin with the back of her hand and curiously asked while observing his expressions, "Feng Xiyan, why do you keep peeking at me? Do you have something you want to say to me?"
Caught off guard by her questions, Feng Xiyan blushed and coughed lightly. "No... I just think you look beautiful and couldn’t help myself but take a few more glances."
Stunned by his blunt honesty, Bai Hanyun was left speechless.
"....." No, Feng Xiyan... you are cheating! How can you say that while looking like this? It’s foul play!
While she screamed internally, a gentle male voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
[Girl, you are doomed. You really like him. Ha ha ha!]
Hearing that annoying way of speaking and the gloating tone, Bai Hanyun suddenly recalled the antique mirror. She narrowed her eyes and thought, ’You are the Yang Mirror?’
[It’s me,] the Yang Mirror replied proudly.
Sensing her displeasure, the Yang Mirror clicked his tongue. [Girl, you should be thanking me for saving your life. What’s with your attitude now?]
Bai Hanyun sneered at his words and sarcastically thought, ’I thank you so much.’
Feeling a hint of thorns in her words, the Yang Mirror asked cautiously, [Why does it sound like your words are full of thorns?]
Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes when she heard that. ’Why didn’t you save me faster? We almost smashed into pancakes and went offline together on that cliff. If not for my urging, you’d have been shattered to pieces by now!’
Cornered by her questioning, the Yang Mirror explained helplessly, [You know my condition. I nearly went offline myself just to send you to this world. Girl, you shouldn’t burn the bridge after crossing the river, you know?]
Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes again at his words.
After a moment of silence, she responded, ’Fine. This time, your timely rescue indeed saved both of us. Now tell me. When will you send me back to my world? I still have so many things to do. My friends must be worried sick since they couldn’t find me.’
When she said this, the Yang Mirror suddenly yawned loudly. [Oh no~ I’m so sleepy. Let’s talk about this after I take a nap.]
Before Bai Hanyun could protest, she felt his presence vanish from her consciousness.
Gritting her teeth, she thought, ’Very good. You’d better not let me catch you. Otherwise, I will show you why the rose is red!’
Hiding in Bai Hanyun’s dantian, the Yang Mirror shuddered at her bloody imagination.
Shaking his head, he sighed. ’Why do all the women I meet love violence? Can’t I have a gentle Master just once? Sigh...’
Fortunately, the Yin Mirror didn’t know his thoughts. Otherwise, the Yang Mirror would be in for another round of beating.
