Chapter 727: Chapter 203: The Enchanting Demon’s Special (Request for Monthly Tickets)
Exiting the grand doors of the Starry Church, Xu Shu turned left, seeming to head in the direction of the Judgement Department.
He had a backpack on his shoulders, with Alice inside, weaving through the crowd—this backpack was the ’leather bag’ she had referred to, featuring a transparent, breathable cover that allowed her to observe the outside world.
Alice curled up her plump paws, her round, chubby face full of contentment as she clutched a small biscuit, her eyes darting left and right.
Xu Shu glanced at her, didn’t respond, and slightly bowed his head, quickening his pace.
Before entering the Judgement Department, Xu Shu suddenly veered left, his expression fierce as he ducked into a small, seemingly deserted grove nearby!
—Well, there were quite a few people in that grove.
Shadows flickered throughout the small grove, pairs scattered here and there, leaning against the thick trees, huddled in small groups.
It was hard for moonlight to penetrate the forest, but they managed to find their way in.
Scanning the scene, there were ’spring’-types, ’pestle’-types, even ’brutal’-types and ’cauldron’-types, each one a prime specimen, creating a rather spectacular sight.
Alice instantly became alert, curiously asking, "Sir, do you like to play this way?"
Xu Shu’s face flashed an unnatural look, but he quickly covered it up and chuckled, "Don’t misunderstand, I just wanted to find a place to have a serious talk with you alone."
"Sir, aren’t we already talking one-on-one?" Alice said.
In the midst of their conversation, a pale-skinned woman tumbled out of the nearby bushes.
She hugged her devoted lover, who was fervently burying himself in study, and in a haze of tangled passion turned to Xu Shu, softly calling, "Brother, come join us."
Xu Shu looked at the two on the ground.
Alice looked at him.
Both human and cat were stunned for a moment.
Alice said, "I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person...well! Young people are full of vigor, so I understand. I’ll just have to accept it, consider it as throwing myself to the tigers. After all, Old Yu chose you. I’m just a little cat, and all I can do is follow along, unable to resist, meow."
"...God damn, accept me!"
Xu Shu was utterly exasperated.
This was unexpected, the more he explained, the darker it got, better not to expand on it.
He then hastened his pace, leaving the revelry behind.
After a while, he finally found a secluded spot, a small park with a gazebo, featuring a stone table and chairs, with crescent-shaped impressions and traces of damp dew on the table.
Xu Shu sat on the ground far from the marked areas, taking off his backpack.
Then, he let Alice out, pointed at the Star Tower and the Starry Church with a rather grave expression, and began:
"Mrs. Alice, I have quite a deep connection with the Archbishop. Morally and emotionally, I shouldn’t harbor any doubts about you.
"You just said you’ll be following me, which honestly is a bit troublesome for me, but since the bishop entrusted you to me on his deathbed, I can’t really refuse.
"However, out of responsibility for both you and myself, there are three things that have been bothering me all this way, and I really must get a clear answer.
"After thinking it over, let’s settle it here and hopefully you can answer me sincerely. Then perhaps, we might become friends.
"Of course, you have the right to refuse, but if that’s the case, let’s not talk further about following me. I’ll take you back to the Dawn Church, and we can part ways amicably, alright?"
Xu Shu’s gaze was firm, his expression serious, clearly leaving no room for refusal.
The orange cat was actually stunned by Xu Shu’s decisiveness for a moment.
After thinking, she crossed her paws politely, sitting upright, elegantly and shyly saying:
"Alright, then ask away. Just to correct you, I’m not a ’Mrs.,’ I am still a maiden cat, meow."
"Alright."
Xu Shu glanced at her belly.
There, symmetrically arranged, were precisely eight nipples.
...
...
They weren’t particularly conspicuous, covered in yellow fur.
Xu Shu looked away and cleared his throat, saying, "First question, are you actually a cat, or are you human? This question is very important, and I hope you can answer truthfully."
Alice looked at her limbs, tilted her head to think for a moment, "Strictly speaking, I am human.
"My body has some problems, and I need to periodically enter Little Ai’s body to stabilize my condition.
"But after all, Little Ai is Little Ai, and I am me.
"Little Ai has her own life and thoughts, I’m just a pathetic creature parasitizing her body, leeching off her life."
Xu Shu stroked his chin, glanced at the orange cat’s plump, round body, pondering, "You call it Little Ai?"
The orange cat nodded, "Yes, she’s small, Little Alice. I am Big Alice."
Xu Shu didn’t dwell on whether the cat was big or small, "Is it a monster?"
"Is this the second question?" Alice countered.
Xu Shu shook his head, "No, still the first."
"It’s indeed a bit special, but can’t be considered a monster. Otherwise, how could it exist in a safezone?" Alice said.
Xu Shu followed her gaze to the Star Tower, thinking this matter might not be as absolute as stated.
He nodded, barely accepting the answer, then asked:
"Second question, what kind of Transcendent are you?"
Alice suddenly paused, "Old Yu didn’t tell you?"
"No."
"Ah? How come... then why did he..."
Alice seemed somewhat bewildered, her eyes turning chaotically like sapphires.
