Chapter 703: Chapter 704 Rumors and Controversies (4)

He typed ‘pregnancy symptoms’ into the browser and then perused quite a bit of information.

The material indicated that during the first to third month, symptoms such as chest tightness and vomiting indeed occur, and such phenomena generally cannot be treated but can only be suppressed and alleviated through dietary means, advising increased water and fruit intake. After three months, some might experience a reduction in morning sickness, but others continue to suffer from the symptoms, with some even vomiting until childbirth…

Thinking that she would have to endure this every day for the next seven months made Qin Si feel anxious and irritable.

In the following time, he still researched a lot of material.

Ultimately, apart from a few dietary methods, he couldn’t find any way to relieve morning sickness.

At that moment, there was a knock on the office door.

Qin Si stared at the computer screen, “Come in.”

After his permission, the secretary entered.

“Mr. Qin, you have a meeting with the chairman of R Group to discuss investment matters in five minutes.”

“Cancel,” he said without a second thought, his gaze still fixed on the computer screen.

The secretary was momentarily stunned.

R Group was a foreign investor; wouldn’t it be inappropriate to change the meeting time once it was confirmed?

The secretary was unsure and thus cautiously asked again, “Mr. Qin, are you cancelling the meeting with the chairman of R Group?”

Qin Si was already somewhat annoyed and couldn’t help but look up upon hearing this, his sharp gaze piercing the secretary.

Meeting his grim stare, the secretary instantly fell silent, no longer daring to say more, and turned to leave the office.

.

Gu Qiangwei slept straight through for over three hours.

By five in the afternoon, night had fallen.

Qin Si had spent the entire afternoon in his office, not going anywhere, even cancelling the meetings.

Approaching the suite’s door and seeing that Gu Qiangwei was still not awake, he retreated.

Then, there was another knock on the office door.

Immediately after, Luo Chen entered.

“Mr. Qin.”

Qin Si looked up at him, glanced at him, but did not speak. Instead, he leaned on the sofa, lost in thought.

“Lady Keira from England has already arrived at Jos Hotel, and she has invited you to discuss the investment tonight at six o’clock at the Ashang Restaurant and to dine together.”

“I’m not in the mood.”

Luo Chen hesitated, “Mr. Qin, Lady Keira will only be in Jingcheng for 12 hours, and she will fly back to London early tomorrow. Are you sure you don’t want to meet?”

Looking at his slightly frustrated expression, Luo Chen didn’t know what was going on with him.

Securing a meeting with Lady Keira, which had taken two attempts to arrange, only to hear Qin Si say he ‘wasn’t in the mood’? That seemed entirely whimsical!

The words of Luo Chen did carry some weight, though.

Because Qin Si also knew it was difficult to obtain an appointment with Lady Keira.

He glanced at the watch on his wrist, realizing it was already after five.

“I know, go make arrangements,” he said.

“Yes.”

Luo Chen nodded, ready to leave.

Just as he turned to go, it was as if something occurred to him, and he stopped in his tracks, turning back.

“Mr. Qin, are you troubled by the rumors?”

Qin Si’s gaze faltered, fixing on Luo Chen, “What rumors?”

Luo Chen paused, suddenly feeling as though he was digging his own grave.

“Nothing.”

After speaking, he turned to leave.

“Come back!”

Luo Chen’s step faltered, and he could only grit his teeth and turn back.

Qin Si naturally sensed that Luo Chen was hiding something from him.

His expression turned icy, “What rumors are you talking about?”
