Capítulo 836: Chapter 837 Ling Xi’s Apology
“I’m not sure whether she did it unintentionally or on purpose, but you mustn’t be soft-hearted. Have your husband deal with her!”
Gu Qiangwei was stunned, staring at her friend. “Deal with her?”
Huo Yishan paused, realizing that she might have used the wrong words, and quickly corrected herself, “No! What I mean is to have your husband punish her properly, and it would be best to send her out of Jingcheng!”
Gu Qiangwei glanced at her friend but didn’t say anything more. Instead, she fell into deep thought.
…
In the following days, Gu Qiangwei and her two babies stayed in the hospital.
One day, while Qin Sijue was personally feeding her breakfast, she remembered Ling Xi.
Given her personality, if it was truly an accident, she would be feeling guilty and remorseful, and she would probably come to apologize, right?
But three days passed, and she had yet to see Ling Xi’s figure. Could it be that she was really chased out of Jingcheng by Qin Sijue?
After taking a spoonful of chicken soup he fed her, Gu Qiangwei couldn’t help but ask, “Where is Ling Xi now?”
Qin Sijue looked up, not understanding why she would suddenly ask about Ling Xi.
“I don’t know.”
If he didn’t know, it meant he hadn’t punished Ling Xi. But where could she be then?
Just as she was thinking, there was a knock on the ward door.
Gu Qiangwei looked up. After three days of rest, her wound was no longer as painful, and sometimes she would even get out of bed and walk around.
“Come in.”
After hearing Qin Sijue’s consent, Luo Chen outside the ward pushed the door and entered, with Ling Xi following behind him.
Knowing that Gu Qiangwei had awakened, and even though she knew Qin Sijue disliked her, Ling Xi still wanted to come to apologize to Gu Qiangwei in person.
At the sight of Ling Xi, Qin Sijue’s dark eyes evidently grew heavier.
He knew she had once saved his life, but when it came to matters involving Gu Qiangwei, he felt as though he could be enemies with the entire world.
And the compensation he provided Ling Xi was already as generous as it could be.
Ling Xi instinctively startled upon meeting his darkened gaze, but quickly turned her eyes toward Gu Qiangwei.
Gu Qiangwei was staring at her all along, as if waiting for her to speak.
“Mrs. President… I’m sorry!”
As she spoke, her body almost bent at a 45-degree angle.
“Luo Chen,” Qin Sijue suddenly said, his expression cold and his black eyes even colder.
He really didn’t want to see Ling Xi.
“Present.”
“Take her out!”
Hearing that, Ling Xi suddenly lifted her head, looking at Luo Chen and then at Gu Qiangwei.
Luo Chen hesitated for a few seconds because he knew Ling Xi just wanted to apologize to the Young Madam in person.
“Mr. Qin…”
Luo Chen wanted to say something, but a cold look from Qin Sijue silenced him, “Who allowed you to bring her here?”
Luo Chen turned stunned, speechless.
“Mrs. President, I really didn’t see you and Mr. Qin there because I was in a rush to go to work. I truly didn’t do it on purpose…”
“Take her out!”
Luo Chen knew that Qin Sijue’s orders could not be disobeyed, so he had to lead Ling Xi out of the ward.
“Wait.”
At that moment, Gu Qiangwei spoke up.
She also noticed that Ling Xi’s arm was wrapped in gauze and guessed that she must be injured as well.
Both of them stopped in their tracks, and Gu Qiangwei turned to look at Qin Sijue, “Ling Xi did save your life, after all. Why are you being so heartlessly ungrateful?”
Qin Sijue shifted his gaze, “You mean to say, just because she saved my life, I should be endlessly attentive to her and grateful until the day I die?”
“That’s not what I’m saying.” She looked at him, and deep down, both of them couldn’t hide the deep-seated affection they held for each other.
“Then what do you mean?” he challenged her, his tone seemingly displeased, but his narrow eyes were filled with indulgence.
