Chapter 656: Chapter 656: Mengmeng Faints
“How much did you weigh to scare yourself like this?” Gu Zhihan was startled by her scream, then strode over to her. When he saw the number on the digital scale, he couldn’t help but pat her on the head, “Don’t panic, I think this weight suits you just fine.”
Mengmeng looked at him, tears welling in her eyes, and asked, “Really?”
“Of course it’s true, why would I lie to you?” Gu Zhihan said seriously as he patted her head.
“Okay, then I’ll trust you for now,” Mengmeng said.
But strangely, from that day on, Mengmeng’s weight kept increasing.
Even her belly swelled up like a blown-up balloon…
“What should I do, why am I getting fatter?” Mengmeng gazed at her slightly protruding belly, feeling extremely frustrated.
At this moment, she didn’t think about the possibility of pregnancy because she vividly remembered she used protection every intimate moment with Gu Zhihan.
So, it could not be pregnancy.
“How about, I take you out for a walk?” Gu Zhihan suggested upon seeing her despairing look.
“Mm, okay.”
Mengmeng responded, then moved her feet, which were only covered in socks.
“Put on shoes.”
“Am I your servant?” Gu Zhihan retorted, but still doggedly went to put shoes on her himself.
Downstairs, the evening breeze was soothing and carried the warmth of spring.
After walking for a while, Mengmeng started feeling dizzy.
“Gu Zhihan, I want to go home and sleep,” Mengmeng said, her eyelids fighting each other.
“As you wish,” Gu Zhihan nodded.
Upon returning home, Mengmeng went straight to bed and fell into a deep sleep.
The next day Gu Zhihan tried to wake her up for her internship, but she wouldn’t wake no matter how much he called.
“Mengmeng?”
Gu Zhihan’s brow furrowed immediately, and he began to check her pupils and other areas.
But since he wasn’t a professional doctor, he couldn’t figure out what was wrong, and eventually, he had to call an ambulance.
Bo’airen Hospital happened to receive the call.
Gu’s mother rushed over with the ambulance as soon as she heard about it.
“Where’s Mengmeng?” she entered in a flurry of worry, as though she was Mengmeng’s own mother.
“Over here,” Gu Zhihan answered while dressing Mengmeng.
Gu’s mother quickly glanced at Mengmeng, then immediately called to the people behind her, “Hurry up, the patient is here.”
A few minutes later, the unconscious Mengmeng was lifted into the ambulance.
Gu Zhihan also got on.
“Tell me, how do you usually take care of Mengmeng?”
“Wasn’t she fine just yesterday? How did she become unconscious today?”
“Speak up, did you abuse our Mengmeng?”
On the ambulance, Gu’s mother glared at Gu Zhihan, agitated and scolding repeatedly while looking at the unconscious Mengmeng.
Unable to endure any longer, Gu Zhihan sighed, “Mom, can you be quiet for a bit and not disturb the doctor while he examines Mengmeng?”
Gu’s mother then stopped talking and looked towards the doctor, “How’s my daughter-in-law?”
“Well…” the doctor hesitated for a moment before saying, “The patient seems to have no problems, heart rate and blood pressure are all normal, it just looks like she’s simply sleeping.”
“If she was just sleeping, how could she not be woken up?” Gu’s mother furrowed her brow.
“It could be deep sleep,” the doctor said, “If the body is too exhausted, this could happen.”
