Bai Ye Lu Zuo

Chapter 119 An Opportunity, You Don't Take It

Bai Ye really wanted to say to the Warrior: "What you said makes so much sense, I have no grounds to refute!"

Of course, it wasn't sarcasm!

Bai Ye wasn't a novice, after all. He had experience from his past life. Although Bai Ye himself hadn't encountered this situation in the Pyramid ruins, he couldn't rule out the possibility that the Warrior's speculation was valid.

Just then, the Warrior glanced at the equipment on the ground and then quickly looked up.

Bai Ye cast a glance at the Warrior and said, "It seems we've figured this out?"

The Warrior replied, "I've told you everything I know. This is all the information I have."

"Mm, I believe you," Bai Ye said. "But, we're done talking, and your companion still hasn't arrived. What do you think we should do?"

The Warrior paused, then shook his head. "I don't understand what you mean."

Bai Ye looked at the equipment on the ground. "Didn't you call for reinforcements? You're waiting for those other Predators to come and save you."

The Warrior retorted, "That's not true. I'm talking to you sincerely and genuinely want to cooperate. You're different from the others; you're stronger than them, so I don't need to worry about being Facehugger-infected. Naturally, there's no need to kill you. On the contrary, if you're willing to help, this matter will become much simpler. But if you don't trust me, there's nothing I can do."

"Stop with the nonsense," Bai Ye said. "Do you dare say you haven't established communication with other Predators?"

The Warrior looked up and declared, "No, I swear!"

Oaths were cheap. In this situation, admitting to communication would be idiotic.

"It's best if you haven't," Bai Ye shrugged. "Otherwise, something big is going to happen."

The Warrior froze. "What?"

Bai Ye continued, "It takes about five minutes to walk from the mess hall to our location. Our conversation has already lasted over fifteen minutes. What do you think is the reason your companions still haven't arrived?"

The Warrior fell silent, his eyes behind the mask filled with deep terror.

Despite this, the Warrior gritted his teeth and said, "I really haven't..."

"It doesn't matter to me whether you have or not," Bai Ye interrupted him directly. "Having said this much, don't you want to go back and check?"

The Warrior blinked again, but quickly understood that Bai Ye had no intention of attacking him further. He immediately nodded his thanks to Bai Ye, picked up the equipment on the ground, put it on quickly, and began to run back.

Bai Ye curled his lips. After the Warrior disappeared at the end of the corridor, he didn't leave. Instead, he followed.

The Warrior ran through the corridor and then entered the mess hall, only to be shocked.

The piles of bodies that had been there earlier were now scattered, and many of them showed signs of being gnawed. Most importantly, there were now six dead Predators and a dozen dead Xenomorphs in the mess hall.

It was clear that after the Warrior and Bai Ye had left, a battle had broken out in the mess hall, and a large number of Xenomorphs had attacked.

The Warrior quickly rushed to the bodies of the Predators and, in a language Bai Ye couldn't understand, repeatedly called out to his companions, but it was useless. He received no response.

"It's no use!" Bai Ye's voice echoed eerily. "They're clearly dead."

The Warrior sprang up, looked at Bai Ye, and asked, "You knew they were going to be attacked, didn't you?"

Bai Ye nodded. "That's right!"

The Warrior's voice began to fill with anger. "Why?"

Bai Ye sneered, "Almost all aggressive carnivorous creatures are attracted by the smell of blood. You were carrying out a massacre in the mess hall, spreading the smell of blood everywhere. Do you expect Xenomorphs not to come? As a Predator, you should know them well. If you didn't anticipate this, who can you blame?"

The Warrior twitched his eye. "You should have warned me."

"Do I have such an obligation?" Bai Ye asked. "On the world battlefield, killing and being killed are both natural occurrences. You can carry out massacres, but you can't be massacred?"

Bai Ye stepped towards the Warrior.

"Most importantly," Bai Ye grinned, "we can cooperate now."

The Warrior gritted his teeth. "This is why you sat back and did nothing, isn't it? If our people weren't scattered, you wouldn't have had a chance to kill Predators!"

Bai Ye nodded. "You can think of it that way. So, cooperate? Or not cooperate?"

The Warrior scoffed, "Do you think I would cooperate with a scoundrel like you..."

*Thwack!*

Before the Warrior could finish speaking, Bai Ye suddenly reached out and stabbed the Warrior in the waist with the Frost Sword.

Feeling immense pain, the Warrior endured it and retreated, but Bai Ye clearly had no intention of letting him go. He pressed forward relentlessly, cornering the Warrior against the wall, and then...

*Thwack!*

Bai Ye exerted more force. The Frost Sword sank in another inch, half of its blade piercing the Warrior's body.

"Ah!"

The Warrior roared in anger and raised his fist to strike Bai Ye's head. But just as his fist descended, Bai Ye swiftly reached out.

Dragon Claw Hand!

Bai Ye's five fingers formed a claw, gripping the Warrior's fist and twisting it backward forcefully.

*Crack!*

The Warrior's wrist made a bone-snapping sound as Bai Ye brutally fractured it.

The intense pain caused the Warrior to roar repeatedly. Then, the shoulder cannon on the Warrior's shoulder opened, emitting an energy glow.

Bai Ye reacted extremely quickly. The moment the shoulder cannon fired, he tilted his head to the side. Immediately, a beam of energy shot past Bai Ye's head and struck the wall behind him with a deafening blast, shattering it.

"I gave you a chance, and you didn't take it!" Bai Ye raised his head and looked at the Warrior. "If you don't cooperate, you're useless. And if you're useless, you can naturally die!"

The Warrior gritted his teeth. "How do you want to cooperate?"

"Tsk, tsk, tsk..." Bai Ye shook his head. "Opportunities are only given once, so people learn to cherish them. Sorry, you've missed yours!"

*Thwack!*

Bai Ye suddenly pulled the Frost Sword out and then swept it forward forcefully.

A silver sword light flashed, passing across the Warrior's neck.

Instantly, a large amount of blood gushed out with a "swish, swish" sound, splattering all over Bai Ye's face.

Bai Ye stepped back a few paces, wiped the blood from his face, and looked at the Warrior, who was struggling on the ground. "Remember to cherish opportunities in your next life!"

"You have killed a participant (Particle Energy Civilization World)."

"Due to the first successful kill of a participant in a Particle Energy Civilization World, you have received the reward: Biological Scan Computing System x1."

"You have obtained five God Stone Fragments."

As the Warrior died, Bai Ye's eyes lit up as he looked at the glowing screen before him.

Particle Energy Civilization World?

Bai Ye had never heard of this world. Shouldn't Predators be classified as belonging to a technological world?
