Fu Jingshu remained silent.
Shen Qingqing glanced at the time. The last ten minutes were slowly slipping away as they talked. "I really can't waste any more time with you. I'm going to that ward now. You stay and take care of the child. I'll message you if anything happens."
"But..."
Fu Jingshu was still hesitant. In fact, he was usually a decisive person, but when his wife was the one going in, he couldn't remain calm.
"Don't worry, I'll return safely."
Even with Shen Qingqing's words, Fu Jingshu couldn't truly relax. However, since she had said this, he no longer tried to stop her.
"Be careful."
"Mm."
Shen Qingqing responded and turned to leave. As she turned, she saw Fu Jingshu still looking at her, his gaze deep and dark, filled with reluctance.
She walked back, kissed him on the cheek, and then turned to leave.
The hospital corridor was silent at this hour. Everyone had gone to rest, and only a few nurses remained at the nurses' station.
Fortunately, the ward was a distance from the nurses' station and located at a corner of the corridor, so the nurses wouldn't see anyone entering.
However, Shen Qingqing knew that entering that ward would not be easy. Firstly, people were constantly coming and going from the room, likely sent by Director Liu.
Secondly, there was a camera diagonally above the ward door.
Shen Qingqing wasn't sure if anyone was monitoring the camera, but she had to try regardless.
Fortunately, she was a hacker, so intruding into the hospital's surveillance system for a short period was not an issue.
She found a hidden corner and operated her computer for about two minutes. Finally, she put the computer into her backpack and quickly walked towards the ward.
At this moment, all the screens in the surveillance room showed no abnormalities.
The person observing the monitors glanced at the screen and then lowered their head to drink some hot water.
Little did they know, Shen Qingqing had already entered.
The people inside the ward were stunned to see her. "How did you get in?"
He glanced at his phone. He was supposed to be alerted if anyone approached the ward from the surveillance feed and go out to stop them. Yet, she was already inside, and his phone had remained silent.
"What are these people doing?!"
He was furious, but this wasn't the time to dwell on it. He hurried to drive Shen Qingqing away. "This is an intensive care ward. No one other than medical staff is allowed in. How did you get in? Who sent you? Get out immediately!"
Shen Qingqing slowly removed her mask, revealing a bright, fiery face.
The man was momentarily stunned, but quickly realized who she was. His attitude became even more aggressive. "Get out, get out! Get out now! You're not allowed in!"
Seeing that she wasn't moving, the man reached out to physically push her out. Shen Qingqing dodged and, with a swift movement, flung a handful of white powder towards him.
The man instinctively held his breath, but it was too late. He felt a wave of dizziness and, staggering, collapsed onto the floor.
Shen Qingqing stepped over him and walked towards the only ward in the room.
Upon entering, she realized it was not what it seemed.
This was not an intensive care unit but a VIP private room.
Yet, the sign outside read "Intensive Care."
Shen Qingqing murmured, "They really are selling dog meat with a sheep's head sign."
The room was dark, with the curtains drawn. After closing the door, no light entered, and she could only vaguely see a figure on the bed.
Shen Qingqing leaned closer to look at the person's face.
It turned out not to be a person at all, but another quilt lying under the covers.
Suddenly, an alarm blared. She immediately turned to look at the man on the floor. He had apparently woken up at some point and called Director Liu on his phone.
Shen Qingqing grabbed his neck and demanded, "Where is the person who was supposed to be lying here?!"
"What person? I don't know!"
The man was uncooperative and refused to answer.
Shen Qingqing sneered, "If you don't talk, I'll strangle you. You're just Director Liu's lackey anyway!"
"Kill me if you can!" the man yelled. "I will never tell you!"
Seeing his resolute demeanor, Shen Qingqing realized she wouldn't get anything from him. She struck him on the neck!
The man's eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
At the same time, loud knocking sounded from outside the door, accompanied by shouting.
"Open the door! Hurry and open it!"
Shen Qingqing was grateful she had locked the door when she entered. Otherwise, people would have already barged in. She scanned the ward and her gaze quickly settled on the window.
Besides the door, it was the only other exit.
She strode towards the window. Just as she took out the tools from her bag, the door behind her was kicked open, and a cacophony of noise flooded the room.
Without looking back, Shen Qingqing deployed her tools, attaching them to her shoulders like wings, and glided out the window!
"Catch her!"
The people behind rushed forward but grasped at empty air, watching as she slowly descended into the night sky like a bird.
Until she was no longer visible.
Everyone watched, dumbfounded.
"Holy cow, is she doing acrobatics?"
Meanwhile, Fu Jingshu in the ward heard the commotion outside. He wanted to go out and see, but he couldn't leave the child.
The commotion outside grew louder. He took out his phone to check Shen Qingqing's location.
He found that the red dot had disappeared.
This usually meant one of two things: either the tracking device was damaged, or she was in a location where the signal couldn't be detected or transmitted.
Fu Jingshu's handsome face tightened, his long fingers gripping the phone, his gaze fixed on the screen.
Until the red dot reappeared.
He let out a sigh of relief.
At the same time, Shen Qingqing finally landed on the ground. She stowed away her flying wings and quickly disappeared into the night, vanishing without a trace in an instant.
As for the men who had pursued her, they found nothing.
They called Director Liu to report.
Director Liu was furious. "All useless! You can't even catch one person! What good are you?"
The men felt some resentment, but facing the boss who paid their salaries, they could only lower their heads and endure his scolding.
"Keep looking until you find her!" Director Liu cursed again before hanging up. "Useless!"
In the darkness, everyone fell silent.
Someone muttered, "It's not about whether we're useless or not. The other party can fly down, what else can't they do?"
Someone sighed, "It's no use saying this. Let's just keep looking."
"How do we look? We don't even know where she went. This place is so big, and she was prepared. She'll have hidden herself by now."
"Alright, alright, stop dawdling. Let's hurry and split up to search."
The leader gave the order, and they had no choice but to comply.
