Chapter 41 The Yellow-Furred Rat

A sound of flesh tearing rang out.

A wound was carved into the forehead of the raptor by Bai Ye's blade, and it let out a pained howl, crashing headfirst into a nearby tree.

Bai Ye quickly pressed his hand against the ground and flipped over, creating distance between himself and the raptor.

Then…

"Invisible Detonation!"

BOOM!

The spot Bai Ye had touched suddenly emitted a deafening roar. Though nothing was visible, an explosion occurred out of thin air.

No flames, no black smoke, but waves of heat, like surging tides, rolled out in layers.

The raptor was sent flying by the attack, collapsing on the ground and convulsing, its flank completely blown open, a bloody mess.

"It really can explode out of nowhere!"

Bai Ye marveled at the new ability he'd just acquired from the gashapon machine, and quickly retrieved two Dao talismans.

Bai Ye didn't have much time for amazement. There wasn't just one raptor around, but several.

"Fire Curse!"

Bai Ye chanted softly, then flicked his wrist. A Dao talisman in his hand stood upright and began to burn.

The next moment, Bai Ye pushed forward with his hand, conjuring a giant fireball that shot out and struck a large tree, instantly engulfing it in flames.

Like most wild beasts, the raptors seemed to have an innate fear of fire. Seeing the flames erupt, they involuntarily stopped in their tracks, hesitating and emitting guttural hisses.

Bai Ye immediately picked up the second Dao talisman, unfurled it, and it too stood upright and began to burn.

"Wind Curse!"

Bai Ye pushed forward with his hand, and a swirling green tornado rose from the midst of the raptors.

The tornado spun continuously, its surrounding winds like blades, slashing and cutting the raptors, opening up wounds one after another. The scent of blood gradually filled the air.

Two raptors fell consecutively, leaving only one in front of Bai Ye.

This raptor seemed hesitant, staring at the corpses of its companions and not daring to approach Bai Ye. However, Bai Ye clearly had no intention of giving the raptor any chance to hesitate or escape.

"Frostbind, Sword Control!"

Above the raptor's head, a silver sword light suddenly appeared.

As the sword light descended, the surrounding trees began to freeze, a layer of frost forming on their bark, and then…

*Pfft!*

The sword light, transformed from Frostbind Sword, pierced through the raptor's head from above, impaling it in a single blow.

Watching the last raptor fall, Bai Ye finally let out a sigh of relief and wondered.

Why did dinosaurs suddenly appear?

What kind of world region would have such prehistoric creatures?

As he pondered, Bai Ye stepped forward, intending to examine the raptors' corpses, but at that moment…

*Zzzzzlap!*

The sound of electricity suddenly came from the forest.

Bai Ye became highly alert. The instant he heard the electric sound, he immediately formed a sword seal.

"Frostbind, Ice Wall!"

Frostbind Sword quickly appeared before Bai Ye, and a white mist of frost spread out in all directions.

With a rumble, a three-meter-tall ice wall rose from the ground before Bai Ye.

Simultaneously, the moment Bai Ye erected the ice wall, a yellow current of electricity shot out from the forest and struck the wall.

After a tremendous roar, the ice wall in front of Bai Ye began to collapse, countless ice shards scattering on the ground.

Bai Ye looked up and was stunned, "Yellow fur pest?"

At a distance of about seven or eight meters stood a creature about fifty centimeters tall, covered in yellow fur. Its little face looked like a rat's, with only two tufts of fur on its cheeks being red, forming two circles. However, unlike ordinary rats, its ears were long and pointed, and its tail was shaped like a lightning bolt. Most magically, this little fellow could walk upright like a human.

"Say that again if you dare!"

An angry voice rang out, and a young man with spiky hair emerged from behind a tree. He looked disheveled, his entire body dirty, with several scratches on his face. The pant leg of his right leg was missing a section, covered in scratches from the foliage.

Bai Ye had a look of realization. So, he was from the Beast Taming World, and that yellow fur pest must be his tamed beast.

The man pointed at Bai Ye and said, "Food, and water. Hand them over."

Food and water?

Bai Ye sized up the man's appearance and could imagine what he had been through, but unfortunately, Bai Ye's situation seemed to be…

"Same here!" Bai Ye extended his hand. "Food and water, hand them over to me."

The man said coldly, "Don't force me to find them on your corpse."

Bai Ye chuckled, "With just that yellow fur pest!"

"Shut up, who allowed you to call it that?" the man growled. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

The yellow fur pest immediately clenched its fists, its cheeks began to spark, and a yellow current of electricity shot towards Bai Ye.

Bai Ye had been wary of the opponent's attack. The moment he saw the creature gathering electricity, he leaped to the side.

*BOOM!*

The next instant, the yellow current of electricity grazed Bai Ye's body and struck a large tree behind him, breaking it with a deafening blast.

The man waved his hand again, issuing a command, "Quick Attack!"

The yellow fur pest immediately began to run, and as it moved forward, its speed increased, its body transforming into a blur.

Bai Ye slowly straightened up, ignoring the yellow fur pest entirely, and looked at the man. "Do you know what people from the Beast Taming World fear the most?"

The man opened his mouth, as if to speak, but at that moment…

*Pfft!*

A silver light suddenly flashed from the side, piercing into the man's neck from the side and emerging from the other.

The man's eyes widened, his body stiffened for half a second, and then he fell backward.

With a thud, he hit the ground.

Bai Ye sneered, "People from the Beast Taming World fear capturing the ringleader the most!"

"You have eliminated a participant (Beast Taming World)."

"Due to the first elimination of a participant from the Beast Taming World, you have received a reward: a Mega Stone."

"You have obtained a fragment of a Divine Stone."

Mega Stone: When you possess both a Key Stone and a Mega Stone, you can allow your tamed beast to Mega Evolve.

Simultaneously…

With the death of its master, the yellow fur pest, which had been running frantically towards Bai Ye, suddenly stopped. It looked around confusedly, as if some memories had been lost from its mind. It completely forgot about the man and turned to run into the forest, disappearing quickly.

Tamed beasts that lost their masters naturally reverted to being wild.
