Chapter 275 Gilgamesh

The warehouse was empty, piled with planks of wood, some old furniture, and iron barrels emitting a foul odor.

Bai Ye waved his hand, sweeping away the dust floating around, and found an open space in the center.

This was an abandoned warehouse, and Bai Ye felt it was a good place for a summoning ritual, as it was unlikely to be discovered by other chosen ones.

Bai Ye set up the summoning ritual on the ground and then waited to see what kind of heroic spirit would appear.

Soon…

The magic patterns began to glow, dim at first, then gradually becoming more intense, until…

The golden radiance seemed to explode, filling the entire warehouse.

From within the golden light, a man clad in armor strode out.

At that moment, Bai Ye felt his vision dazzled.

The armor was made of gleaming gold with black stripes, and in the dim warehouse, it looked exceptionally brilliant.

The wearer of the armor possessed an exceptionally handsome face, with features as exquisitely chiseled as if carved by an axe, and short golden hair swept back, giving him a very capable appearance. He wore golden earrings, also seemingly made of pure gold.

Bai Ye couldn't help but click his tongue a couple of times.

This full golden attire was the epitome of a nouveau riche's taste, yet he didn't look tacky or ostentatious.

Indeed, if one is handsome, everything else is secondary.

As Bai Ye made a sound, the man's gaze fell upon him.

"Mongrel!" the man said disdainfully, looking at Bai Ye. "Are you my master?"

Bai Ye pointed to himself, doubting his ears. What did this guy just call him?

The man glanced around, his expression filled with disgust. "This place is too dirty and beneath my royal status. I want a cleaner location."

"Hey, I summoned you to fight," Bai Ye said, annoyed. "Do you think you're here for a vacation?"

The man stared at Bai Ye. "Mongrel, do you know who you're talking to? You must kneel when you face a king!"

Bai Ye raised his hand and pointed to the magic inscription on his hand. "Do you know who you're talking to? I am the one who can make kings kneel!"

The man's face instantly contorted with rage. "You dare threaten me?"

Bai Ye replied, "Want to try?"

The man sneered. "Three magic inscriptions mean you have only three chances to command me. So, are you going to waste such a precious opportunity on this? Don't you want me to eliminate your enemies?"

"It's fine," Bai Ye said. "Even without you, I can defeat them on my own. So, correct your attitude and think before you speak to me, or I can make you kneel three times."

The man's gaze remained locked on Bai Ye.

After a moment, the man suddenly laughed and walked over to a worn-out sofa, sitting down and resting his arms on the backrest before crossing his legs.

"Very well, since you say so…" the man said, looking at Bai Ye. "I shall watch here and see how you deal with the others. I hope you won't beg me to intervene later."

Bai Ye shrugged nonchalantly. "As you wish!"

While he had considered that summoned heroic spirits might have unpleasant personalities, this one was exceptionally so.

However, Bai Ye felt it didn't matter much.

Without a heroic spirit, he could do it himself!

I have a gacha machine, I can cheat!

Bai Ye thought to himself as he glanced at the screen. It was exactly time. Relying on oneself was better than relying on others; the gacha machine was the most reliable.

"Golden Gacha!"

Bai Ye decisively used a fragment of a Divine Stone. Immediately, the mechanical whirring of the gacha machine echoed, and soon, a golden gacha rolled out.

Bai Ye casually retrieved the gacha and opened it.

High-Tensile Steel Armor (Item) (Gold): Advanced composite steel material, primarily used for the armor plates of the Zaku I (MS-05) general-purpose mobile suit.

Bai Ye felt a cold sweat trickle down his forehead.

"Um…" Bai Ye turned to the man, rubbing his hands and smiling ingratiatingly. "Esteemed King, I feel it would be rather boring for you to have come all this way and do nothing, wouldn't it?"

The man leaned to the side, propping his face with his hand. "Mongrel, beg me?"

The playful and mocking tone made Bai Ye's expression sharpen, and he dropped his flippant demeanor.

In the next instant, Bai Ye suddenly executed a side kick, sweeping his leg towards a nearby iron barrel and sending it flying towards the man.

Clang!

The man quickly raised his hand and struck the flying iron barrel away.

"You just wait," Bai Ye said sternly. "See if I can handle this without you."

Bai Ye turned and walked away. Damn it, he couldn't possibly be bullied by a heroic spirit!

This guy, to put it bluntly, was just a dead person, wasn't he?

"Wait a moment!" the man suddenly called out to Bai Ye, straightening up. "You are a bit more interesting than I imagined."

As the man spoke, he raised two fingers.

"First, I will not reside in such a filthy place. Second, good food and fine wine."

Bai Ye considered for a moment. "Agreed!"

Although the man's attitude greatly displeased Bai Ye, these two conditions were not overly difficult.

The man stood up. "Let's go. I never want to stay in a place that crawls with vermin again."

After saying that, the man walked directly out of the warehouse.

Bai Ye glanced at his retreating back, then looked at the screen.

After all the commotion with the man, he hadn't had a chance to check his identity.

Gilgamesh (Heroic Spirit) (King of Heroes): King of the ancient Mesopotamian region of Sumer, protagonist of the oldest epic in human history, the Epic of Gilgamesh, the oldest King of Heroes in human history.

"Holy crap!" Bai Ye exclaimed in surprise. "He's that powerful?"

Bai Ye knew Gilgamesh. In human history, this was an extraordinary figure.

The Epic of Gilgamesh was the earliest existing epic in the world, making its protagonist the King of Heroes.

The term "King of Heroes" signifies that Gilgamesh was the king of all heroes in this world, as all figures who gained heroic renown in transmitted myths could be traced back to Gilgamesh.

After all, no heroic epic predates the Epic of Gilgamesh.

"No wonder he's so arrogant," Bai Ye muttered. "With such a status, it's not entirely deniable that he has the right to be arrogant."

"Hey, mongrel," Gilgamesh said at this moment, turning around with arrogance. "Hurry up, what are you dawdling for?"

"Damn it!"

Bai Ye couldn't help but clench his fist and curse.

Once the Holy Grail War ended, if there was an opportunity, he didn't care if he was the King of Heroes; he'd beat him up!
