Chapter 73: CH-73

I kept swinging and thrusting my spear, getting a feel for its weight and rhythm. One thing that caught my attention was the red cloth flowing from its shaft.

With every strike, it trailed behind like a banner in the wind, so long that, if I wanted, I could throw the spear and reel it back without losing control.

The motion added both flexibility and intimidation to each attack, turning even practice swings into a display of power.

Perfect. Even if I didn’t have Sun Wang’s memories, his body still knew how to wield a weapon, making things much easier. My technique might fall short of the original, but my sheer power more than made up for it.

Now I needed to capitalize on this, and lead the rebel force.

Raising my spear, I shouted.

"It’s time to destroy the old and build the new! Every single one of you is a pioneer of this new era—and you will be remembered as heroes! As for those who dare to stand in our way, I will personally cut off their heads and present them as a warning to all blinded by greed!"

The Imperial army grew desperate and fearful, while the rebels became bolder.

Spear in hand, I drove forward and cut through a cluster of ten men ,

They didn’t have time to form ranks; one by one they crumpled, struck cleanly before they could react. Each swing moved with blistering speed, about 150km/h.

At first, I didn’t understand how I moved like this. As I fought, I analyzed my body and noticed the differences.

My muscles were formed differently—they could expand and contract at extreme speed, generating acceleration.

Such an ability could only be possible by tempering the body over a long period with specific exercises—but genetics played the major role. In other words, Sun Wang had been blessed with extraordinary DNA.

BOOOM!

Another explosion of motion echoed as I struck eight men in succession.

My spear carved through their formation with unstoppable force, leaving gaps as if a cannonball had blasted through a line of soldiers.

Without breaking a step, I swept my spear across the ground, crushing floors and sending shockwaves through the air. Stones became projectiles, tearing through the ranks of my opponents like a storm of bullets.

"Fire!"

Countless arrows rained down, but my body reacted instinctively. I spun my spear in a whirlwind, deflecting every shot while turning with it, creating a rotating shield of steel and motion that left nothing unblocked.

I grinned from ear to ear as I moved. With each clash, my muscles remembered the techniques etched into their very cells.

I inhaled deeply, drawing back my spear and aiming at a group of soldiers carrying heavy metal shields.

"Moon-Needle Thrust." The words slipped out naturally before I launched forward like a bullet train. The tip of my spear pierced the first three soldiers with ease.

The remaining enemies behind them were shoved back violently. They struggled helplessly, scattered and off-balance,

I yanked my spear free from the bodies, letting their fallen corpse fall aside.

Before anyone could close in, I twisted my wrist and launched another technique.

"Moon Cycling Rotation!" I shouted.

The motion shredded the follow-up attacks of the soldiers trying to surround me, converting my linear momentum into angular force.

Shields and weapons were knocked aside, and their balance collapsed as I spun, creating more space to maneuver.

Seizing the opening, I planted my feet and coiled my body like a spring.

"Moon Raging Eclipse!

Air crackled with the force of each strike, stones and debris scattering in every direction. Every enemy within range was obliterated by the impact.

The soldiers outside my range were driven back, some tumbling over their comrades, while the red cloth trailed behind like a whip, disorienting anyone who dared approach.

Within seconds, the place was littered with fallen bodies, a testament to my power.

"General Sun Wang, let us end this unnecessary bloodshed and decide the victor with our own fight." Tae Yul’s voice cut through the chaos, drawing my attention.

He now stood before another group, but their appearance was nothing like the Imperial army. They wore flowing gray robes and wide conical rice hats that hid their faces.

Their simple, unassuming garments only heightened their aura. Faces hidden beneath wide hats, they revealed no thought or emotion, and that uncertainty made them deadly.

A rebel faction spotted them and raised an axe to strike—but the mysterious group moved in perfect harmony, forming a flawless formation.

Within seconds, the rebels were riddled with wounds, some beheaded outright.

Their swordsmanship was fluid and dazzling, as if they were dancing while killing. Only someone of my caliber could easily contend with such skilled martial artists.

"See, General—another needless deaths. Both sides are convinced of their justice; let us then decide this with our strength. I stake my life on the outcome. Will you stake yours?" Tae Yul added.

So that was his plan all along. He didn’t want to crush the rebel army directly—he wanted to break their spirit by taking me down first, in the flashiest, most audacious way possible.

This also explained why he hadn’t killed me in the prison. A quiet death would never have the same impact as the humiliation of thousands witnessing the supposed downfall of the nation’s strongest.

On the surface it looked like a fair duel, but that was far from the truth.

First of all, even if I won, the enemy wouldn’t stop pursuing me. He was just a fighter—skilled, yes, but without the presence, influence, or sheer weight that I carried on the battlefield.

And if, by some chance, I lost and died, the morale of the entire rebel alliance would collapse.

Such a cunning trick made me want to kill him. Does he think I would let him use me as a stepping stone so he could claim all the glory?

Before I could respond, a senior rebel hurried over.

"General Sun Wang, be careful. That man—Tae Yul—commands the largest mercenary army in all of Taimen. They call him the Smiling Buddha. That smile... it never fades, not even when fighting an army"

He paused, swallowing hard.

"It’s said he once faced thousands alone and cut down enough men to build a wall of corpses back in his own country. His achievements rival even yours."

Great... so I’m basically facing another legendary figure. A martial artist with both power and technique, while I only have the power and some muscle memory. No wonder he didn’t look all that impressed by me.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t back down now. Defeating him might be the key to ending this simulation once and for all.

"It’s not a problem," I reassured him. "But... can you tell me what others call me?"

This question wasn’t born of vanity. It was a way to discern my body’s fighting style through the title it wields.

"General, your title is far grander and more commanding. You are General Sun Wang—the Unstoppable Spear of Xia."

I nodded in satisfaction. It seemed my spear technique favored powerful strikes, which wasn’t surprising, considering the strength behind my strikes.

"Tae Yul." I stepped forward, and raised my spear. "Come. I’ll end you myself."
