Chapter 213 Construction Site Crisis_1

Chapter 213: Chapter 213 Construction Site Crisis_1

"I’m not breaking the law at all."

Guo Yuxiang waved his hand. "What I’m doing is called private mediation and negotiation. I’ll take a portion of the three million to give to those who wanted to sue the restaurant owner. As for the rest of the money..."

Guo Yuxiang picked up his phone and transferred one million directly to Su Xuan!

Su Xuan couldn’t stop laughing. "Alright, now even if you were breaking the law, I couldn’t say a thing. I guess we’re accomplices now."

Guo Yuxiang grinned. "I hope we run into situations like this more often. This is easy money!"

Su Xuan shrugged. "Isn’t it though!"

Witnessing this, Feng Ergen was dumbfounded. The meal wasn’t even over, and they had already earned so much money! It was more than he would make in a lifetime!

He immediately turned to his daughter. "Daughter, do you see? Knowledge is wealth. As long as you have knowledge, making money is incredibly easy. Dad hopes you’ll study law in the future and become a great lawyer!"

Su Xuan and Guo Yuxiang couldn’t help but laugh when they heard this.

We’ve led him astray! We’ve led an honest man astray!

"Brother Feng, how did you get here?" Su Xuan asked after they finished eating.

"My daughter and I walked," Feng Ergen replied immediately. "My construction site is just a couple of miles away, not too far."

Su Xuan asked, "Does your daughter stay with you at the site?"

Feng Ergen nodded. "Yes, she’s on vacation and staying with me for a few days, so we’re just making do at the construction site."

"Let’s go. A couple of miles is still a long walk. Yuxiang and I will give you a ride!" Su Xuan said as he stood up and started to walk out.

He suddenly stopped, glanced at the table where plenty of food remained, and called a waitress over. "Could you please pack this up?"

"No problem, sir!"

The waitress was a young woman of about eighteen or nineteen. She took a long, deep look at Su Xuan, her heart filled with a thousand emotions.

He drives a car worth over a hundred million yuan, yet he still asks for a doggy bag. He’s such a humble and down-to-earth person! And he’s so handsome! It’s impossible not to like him!

"You can go take care of the other tables. Let me pack up for our distinguished guests!" The restaurant owner suddenly rushed over, shooed the waitress away, and personally packed the leftovers for Su Xuan.

"Thank you."

Su Xuan took the bag from the owner and left with his group. The owner respectfully saw them off, waiting until their cars had driven away.

"Honey, they scammed us out of three million! Why are you still so polite to them?" the owner’s wife cried as she walked over.

"There’s nothing we can do. They’re powerful people. They could crush us with the lift of a finger. If we don’t keep them happy, what if one day they get upset and decide to come cause trouble for us again?" the owner lamented, whining as well.

「In the Koenigsegg.」

"Little sister, do you like my car?" Su Xuan asked Feng Ergen’s daughter.

He had specifically asked her to ride in his car so he could chat with her casually, while the others rode in Guo Yuxiang’s vehicle.

The reason he’d offered to drive Feng Ergen and his daughter home wasn’t an overflow of kindness. The simple fact was, he had made a million yuan because of them—a sum that far exceeded the value of the clothes he had given away. If he didn’t at least offer them a ride as a gesture of goodwill, it would feel like he had just used them for his own profit.

"Yes!" The little girl nodded vigorously. "Brother, your car is the best one I’ve ever been in!"

"Haha!"

Even though countless people had praised his car before, hearing the compliment from the little girl now made Su Xuan burst into a hearty laugh.

He then said to her, "Your father is right, knowledge is wealth. You must continue to study hard. But as for your future profession, that should depend on your own interests. You don’t have to become a lawyer."

The little girl nodded obediently. "Actually, I want to be a doctor."

"Why do you want to be a doctor?" Su Xuan asked.

"I don’t have a mother. She died from an illness," the girl said. "When she died, she held my hand tightly and kept saying how much it hurt. That’s why I want to become a doctor. I don’t want anyone else to die in pain like my mother did."

Steering with one hand, Su Xuan reached over and gently patted the girl’s head.

"You’re a good kid."

The little girl blinked her big eyes at him. "And you’re a good big brother!"

Su Xuan laughed heartily again.

The little girl then added timidly, "Brother, that shirt... I’ll wash it very carefully for you and make sure there isn’t a single spot on it. Please accept it back when I’m done!"

Su Xuan smiled and waved his hand dismissively. "I really gave it to your father. I can get as many of those shirts as I want."

"My father taught me from a young age not to simply take things from others," the little girl said earnestly. "We can’t accept that shirt."

Su Xuan didn’t say anything more.

He had specifically invited the girl to ride with him to offer some guidance, hoping to prevent tonight’s incident from making her lose faith or become disillusioned with society. But he quickly realized his efforts were unnecessary. Her worldview and values were incredibly sound. There was no need for him to worry.

About ten minutes later, they arrived at the construction site Feng Ergen had mentioned.

"Thank you all!" Feng Ergen said, his eyes welling with tears again after getting out of the car. "Thank you for giving my daughter an unforgettable birthday. I, Feng Ergen, will never forget this for as long as I live. I will always remember your kindness. If I ever get the chance to make something of myself, I will be sure to repay you generously!"

"No need to thank us, Brother Feng!" Guo Yuxiang said cheerfully. "We should be thanking you! Without you, we wouldn’t have made so much on the side. How about I give you a cut?"

"No, I wouldn’t dare!" The honest and simple Feng Ergen frantically waved his hands and shook his head.

Then, he took off the shirt and looked at Su Xuan sheepishly. "Brother Su, I’ll take this to the best dry cleaner’s to have it cleaned, then I’ll personally return it to your home, alright?"

He never had any intention of keeping Su Xuan’s shirt. Su Xuan had helped him out of kindness; how could he possibly accept something from his benefactor? He had already asked Su Xuan for his contact information during dinner so he could return the shirt later.

His daughter quickly chimed in, "I already told Brother Su I’d wash it for him myself!"

Guo Yuxiang chuckled. "Little sister, you can’t hand-wash a shirt like this. You’ll ruin it. It has to be dry-cleaned."

"An older girl from my hometown works at a dry cleaner’s," the little girl said seriously. "She said they don’t actually dry-clean the customers’ clothes. They just wash them with water, hang them to dry, and then iron them. They don’t get ruined. The dry-cleaning machines in their shop are barely used all year. Besides, I’ll be very careful. I promise I won’t ruin it."

Guo Yuxiang glanced at Su Xuan. "Well, it looks like we’re the ignorant ones here."

Su Xuan smiled. "Indeed."

Just then, five or six figures emerged from the darkness, closing in on them.

In their hands, they all held gleaming, illegal blades...
