Chapter 42: To You, Alpha Diego

Chapter 42: To You, Alpha Diego

DIEGO

Earlier that day...

"Is the marriage still going to happen?"

Maria paced around my office, and occasionally stared at the floor-to-ceiling window as if her daughter would show up like a magic trick.

And with her brows crunched up in worry, her face was too ugly to even look at. The way she talked was almost revolting.

"Diego, are you even listening—"

"Stop!" I snapped, slamming my fists on the desk!

"Why?" She gasped. "Today is the full moon and Davina is nowhere to be found. Why would your sons take her away?"

"I don’t know..." I shrugged, as my lips curled into a mocking smile. "I think you are in a better position to answer that."

"What do you mean?"

"Isn’t that your specialty? Seduction and greediness. She probably thought my boys would be the next Alphas, and she wants to snag a piece of the cake!"

"You..." She pointed at me, her face twitching and breath shaking. "How dare you insult me! I am fucking helping you—"

"No, you are not!" I stood up, shoulders raised as I looked down at her scrawny self as if she was beneath me like dust under my shoes.

"I am giving you life, the dream you wanted. To be married, loved, and seen. Isn’t that so?"

"The price to pay is your daughter, and that thing she carries inside her."

"That thing?" She sneered. "You call the blood wolf a thing?"

"Of course..." I flicked my fingers as I moved toward the door. "The blood wolf will be mine to control, and as long as it’s mine, it’s a thing I can use."

My hand wrapped around the doorknob, pulling the door open but she pushed it, shutting the door.

"Answer the damn question, Diego. Is the marriage still going to happen? I provided everything you asked of me. It’s not my damn fault your sons chose to rebel."

I turned to her, lips raised in a sneer, "It’s not my damn fault your daughter is a slut like you—"

Pak!

The stinging pain on my cheek, caused me to blink. My teeth gnashed, as my jaw locked. My gaze finally landed on her face, and I hated the sight of it.

"How dare you..." I whispered, as I closed in on her, like a predator ready to devour its prey. "You lay your fucking filthy hands on me?"

She stepped away, breath shaky and eyes blurring with tears, "You insulted me, my daughter—"

"A daughter you sold without batting an eyelid? Do you want to act the good mother role now?"

"I am just doing what’s right for her! I care about her and I am afraid she will go crazy on her own. But you? You beat up your sons for your selfish and sadistic pleasure."

"We are not the same, Diego. You are a monster, and you birthed those monsters who will ruin my daughter—"

Pak!

My hand moved before I could even think, slamming hard on the side of her face. Her body spun around before staggering to the floor.

"Shut it!" I seethed.

But that wasn’t enough. The sight of my five-finger mark on her face, her broken and bleeding lips and her bloodshot eye wasn’t enough.

I stomped toward her, and again...pak!

Another slap landed on her face and her body collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily.

"You are just a lowly brat I chose to have pity on. Do you think I would ever take a glance at you if it wasn’t for your daughter? It’s your fault you weren’t able to protect her as you should."

She cried, low sobs that were borne from deep within her, "I hate you."

"Oh, I do feel the same way too." I chuckled, and the next second, my hand curled around her jaw, pulling her to look me in the face.

"If by tonight, we don’t find them, the marriage won’t happen, Maria. And you know what’s more? You will rot in hell. Not the devil’s hell, but my hell."

I pushed her to the floor and quickly I turned to leave. As soon as I was out, I got a few wet wipes to clean off my hands, but the seething fury inside me wouldn’t quench.

I tapped the black eye patch on my eye, the permanent damage my sons had done to me. I vowed to get them three and gouge their eyes out.

But it wouldn’t be enough! They disrupted my plans, my close reach for ultimate power.

How surprised was I when I discovered they came for Davina instead? And not that little bitch I had captured.

How surprised was I when I forced the truth out of the maids who sneaked around the mansion? Those bastards had been fucking Davina behind my back.

She was supposed to be mine. My essence was supposed to force her wolf out, not theirs!

I walked to another part of the mansion, and the guards pulled open the door to a plain room where a woman, dressed in all white was.

The Seer I had kept away from the Packs for so long, only answering to me. She wanted to serve me, as we both had the same goal. The same craving for power.

"Did you find her?"

"Not yet. I’m still looking." I said as I sat before her.

"Well, you have to search harder." She sneered. "I laid out everything for you, and yet you failed?"

"You should have been the one to take her, not your sons."

"I guess they have a good eye for things." I chuckled. "They are from my loins after all..."

"This is not the time to joke." She hissed.

I turned serious, brows furrowed, "Is there another way?"

I was supposed to take her and mark her on the full moon night and control her wolf but I couldn’t do that anymore.

The Seer settled in her seat, her lips raised slightly.

"You say your sons have their wolves too, huh?"

"Yes..." My lips curled too, realizing where this was going. The sweet itch of victory, of power incoming.

"Then we use them all. Control them at our own will. Wherever Davina goes, they will follow."

She leaned in, eyes tight, "All I need is a piece of her. And she will come right back to us."

"To you, Alpha Diego."
