After Fuxi and Nuwa arrived at Kunlun Mountain, they were both astonished by the protective array set up by Tongtian.
Fuxi said to Nuwa:
"Little sister, this grand array is extraordinary. Even if we entered it, I fear there would be no escape! It seems the cultivation of these three fellow Daoists has advanced significantly since we first met!"
Nuwa heartily agreed, nodding her head:
"Big brother speaks the truth. I originally thought my cultivation had surpassed yours, and that I wasn't far behind these three fellow Daoists. Little did I know I was being presumptuous."
Fuxi suddenly felt as though he had been struck by a myriad of blows. Praising them was one thing, but why drag him into it? It made him lose face.
Fuxi quickly changed the subject, saying:
"These three fellow Daoists, too. They set up this protective array but didn't arrange for anyone to guard it. Are we supposed to shout at the top of our lungs?"
Nuwa chuckled and replied:
"These three fellow Daoists were indeed lacking in consideration."
After speaking, she glanced at Fuxi and then at Kunlun Mountain.
Fuxi saw Nuwa looking at him and then at Kunlun Mountain, and sighed.
Fine, he would have to be the one to endure this embarrassing task.
Fuxi looked around, then at the array, wanting to speak several times but refraining.
Fuxi said to Nuwa:
"Little sister, perhaps we should attack the array! That way, the three fellow Daoists will surely sense it!"
Nuwa gave Fuxi a look and said:
"Big brother, don't worry about your image! We are here to visit them, not to fight. If we attack their protective array, wouldn't that be like being unruly at their doorstep?"
Fuxi thought to himself:
"If you're telling me not to worry about my image, why don't you do it? Do you think you can get away with anything just because you're my younger sister? If you were my younger brother, let's see how I'd deal with you, hmph!"
However, Fuxi knew Nuwa was telling the truth. It really wouldn't make sense to attack their protective array; it would be like slapping them in the face.
Fuxi reluctantly approached the Kunlun protective array, feeling awkward, and called out in a small voice:
"Fuxi and Nuwa are here to visit the three fellow Daoists!"
Nuwa burst into laughter and said to Fuxi:
"Brother, you need to speak louder! How could they possibly hear you at that volume!"
Fuxi was grumbling internally, "Vile sister, wicked sister, and you're still laughing? You only know how to bully me."
Seeing Nuwa on the verge of tears from laughter, Fuxi hardened his resolve and shouted:
"Fuxi and Nuwa are here to visit the three fellow Daoists!"
The sound waves spread layer by layer into the depths of Kunlun Mountain.
Golden Horn, Silver Horn, and Duobao Qilin listened to the voices, and for a moment, they were in a dilemma.
Li Yi and the others were in seclusion, instructing them not to be disturbed unless it was a major matter. Yet, it had only been a short while before someone came to visit.
Should they report it or not?
Golden Horn and Silver Horn couldn't make up their minds and cast their gazes towards Qilin.
Duobao also shifted his gaze to Qilin. Qilin was deep in thought, wondering whether to inform Li Yi and the others. When he looked up, he saw Golden Horn, Silver Horn, and Duobao's eyes all on him.
Qilin gave a wry smile:
"Why are you looking at me? I can't decide either!"
Duobao winked and said:
"Senior brother, you are the eldest disciple, you decide!"
Golden Horn and Silver Horn also chimed in:
"Yes! Master Bao is right, Young Master Chen, you decide!"
Qilin saw that they were all putting the pressure on him and felt troubled. If this Fuxi and Nuwa were distinguished guests, it would be fine. But if they were insignificant people, disturbing their master and uncles' seclusion might mean his position as eldest disciple would come to an end.
Seeing Duobao, Golden Horn, and Silver Horn looking at him, Qilin said:
"Report it! Judging by the voice, this person's cultivation must be strong. They might be distinguished guests of master and uncles!"
After speaking, Qilin went to the gate of the Taiqing Palace and said:
"Reporting to master and uncles, two people are outside the mountain to visit, stating they are Fuxi and Nuwa!"
Inside the Chaos Bead, the moment Qilin finished speaking, Li Yi, Primordial, and Tongtian opened their eyes.
Just as Li Yi was wondering why Fuxi and Nuwa were coming to Kunlun,
Primordial and Tongtian had already asked:
"Elder brother, what are Fuxi and Nuwa doing here?"
Li Yi also didn't know why these two had come to Kunlun Mountain and said with a wry smile:
"I don't know either. Let's go out and welcome them. Leaving them outside the mountain gate is not the way to host guests!"
With a wave of his hand, the three of them appeared in the Taiqing Palace. Li Yi opened the door and went outside. Seeing Qilin standing respectfully outside, he said:
"Go and instruct Golden Horn and Silver Horn to prepare for guests. The three of us will go and receive those two fellow Daoists."
Upon receiving Li Yi's command, Qilin immediately went to prepare with Golden Horn and Silver Horn. Duobao, having nothing to do, also accompanied the three towards Li Yi's medicinal field.
After making arrangements, Li Yi immediately led Primordial and Tongtian out to meet Fuxi and Nuwa.
Fuxi saw that no one was coming out for a long time and thought that Li Yi and the others had gone out for a journey.
Just as they were about to leave, they saw Li Yi, Primordial, and Tongtian emerge.
As Li Yi and the three arrived, Tongtian opened the protective array and allowed Fuxi and Nuwa to enter.
Seeing them enter, Li Yi immediately apologized:
"Please forgive us, please forgive us. My three brothers were in seclusion cultivating, and we are late."
Fuxi laughed heartily and said:
"Not at all! Not at all! It is you three who should not blame my brother and sister for their presumptuous visit!"
Nuwa also chimed in playfully:
"The three fellow Daoists set up such a grand protective array but didn't arrange for anyone to be on duty, making my brother and me wait for so long!"
Tongtian laughed heartily and said:
"It is our fault for being inconsiderate. Please do not take offense!"
Hearing Nuwa's words, Li Yi also felt that they had indeed been inconsiderate and quickly invited the two into the Taiqing Palace.
When Li Yi and his party of five arrived at the Taiqing Palace, Qilin, Duobao, Golden Horn, and Silver Horn were already there.
Seeing this, Fuxi and Nuwa asked with confusion:
"Who are these people?"
Seeing Fuxi and Nuwa's question, Tongtian replied:
"These are my two unworthy disciples!"
Li Yi also said:
"The remaining two are my attendant boys!"
He then said to Qilin, Duobao, Golden Horn, and Silver Horn:
"Why don't you pay your respects to the two elders!"
Fuxi chuckled and said:
"Calling us elders makes us strangers. Since the three of you took human form before my brother and sister, you should call us Uncle-Masters."
Primordial heard this and said, "Good."
When Qilin saw Primordial agree, he said:
"Qilin (Duobao, Golden Horn, Silver Horn) pay respects to the two Uncle-Masters."
Nuwa quickly said:
"Get up! Since you are our nephews, your Uncle-Masters did not bring anything good this time. These few trinkets are for you, as a token of our first meeting!"
After speaking, a few innate spiritual treasures flew out from Nuwa's sleeve and landed in the hands of Qilin, Duobao, Golden Horn, and Silver Horn. The four were overjoyed and quickly thanked Nuwa and Fuxi.
Li Yi smiled and said:
"You have made the two fellow Daoists laugh!"
Fuxi said:
"Fellow Daoist, there is no need to call us fellow Daoists. Since the three of you took human form before us, you should call us Junior Brother and Junior Sister."
Li Yi smiled and said:
"You have made Junior Brother and Junior Sister spend money."
Fuxi chuckled and said:
"Senior Brother is too polite. As elders, it is only right that we look after our juniors!"
Primordial also said to Qilin and the others:
"Why don't you hurry and serve tea!"
Qilin and the others eagerly ran outside to make tea for Fuxi and Nuwa.
