"Shen Heyu knows about my engagement to Chen Lingmeng," Pei Yansi stated calmly.
He involuntarily recalled the conversation he had with Shen Heyu a few hours ago when they arrived at the hospital, standing by the car door.
Zhao Jin couldn’t sit still anymore; he turned excitedly to look at Pei Yansi.
"What? Mrs. Pei knows about your engagement to Miss Chen? What was her reaction?"
"Mind your own business, just drive the car, and stop talking so much," Pei Yansi said coldly, glancing at Zhao Jin, who pursed his lips.
"President, I’m just trying to help you understand Mrs. Pei’s feelings. If she truly cares for you, she definitely wouldn’t agree easily to you marrying another woman."
"She agreed," Pei Yansi recalled the expression on Shen Heyu’s face when she agreed.
"What? Mrs. Pei is actually going to watch you get engaged to another woman? Does that mean there is no chance for the two of you? You really should think twice about this engagement with Miss Chen."
Zhao Jin was still trying to persuade Pei Yansi to change his mind; he didn’t want Chen Lingmeng to become Mrs. Pei, to become his immediate superior.
"I’ve made up my mind about this, no more nonsense from you. Take me home, and then prepare some gifts; tomorrow I’m going to visit the Chen Family."
Pei Yansi cut off Zhao Jin, who reluctantly closed his mouth and silently turned back to drive.
The next day, Pei Yansi personally visited Grandpa Chen, Chen Wenzhou, and Chen Lingmeng.
As soon as Chen Lingmeng saw Pei Yansi, she happily maneuvered her wheelchair closer to him, "Brother Yansi."

Pei Yansi paused for a second, then continued, "I’ve been in the wrong recently, neglecting your feelings. From here on out, I’ll make up for my mistakes. From tomorrow until the engagement, I’ll properly be with you."
"Brother Yan Si, will you really keep me company properly? Then tomorrow, come shopping with me." Chen Lingmeng, half-doubtful, tentatively made her request upon hearing Pei Yansi’s promise.
Pei Yansi readily agreed. "Okay, last time I went shopping with you, I couldn’t make it enjoyable for you. Tomorrow, I’ll make sure you have a great time."

"I’ll do whatever you want to do," he replied.
"Really? Brother Yan Si, you are truly wonderful!"
Chen Lingmeng, thrilled, reached out her arms to hug Pei Yansi, but being in a wheelchair, she couldn’t, and Pei Yansi, seeing her waiting for an embrace, pondered for three seconds.
Finally, after pausing for a moment, Pei Yansi opened his arms and hugged Chen Lingmeng, gently patting her back.

"And my new beginning is Chen Lingmeng. Lingmeng was right, we are childhood friends, and being equally matched, we’re the most suitable for each other."
Hearing Pei Yansi’s words, Chen Lingmeng was so delighted she almost couldn’t tell north from south, and Grandpa Chen also nodded with great pleasure and satisfaction.
