His eyes churned with unspoken turmoil, the world before him a blur of crimson, his mind filled with roars and curses.
Mei Yuebai clutched the assault rifle, her fingertips turning white.
A flicker of surprise crossed Xu Qian's eyes. She lowered her gaze to check the map. Only one green dot remained in the convenience store; everyone outside was dead.
"Gu Qing, drive down to refuel."
"Li Lili, there's one person in the convenience store. If the survivor lets him go, kill him if he's an enemy. If you can't do it, you're out of the team. We don't need a cowardly person."
Xu Qian's voice was cold, devoid of emotion.
Li Lili's eyes reddened. She picked up her gun, jumped out of the car, and walked towards the convenience store. She wasn't a coward, just unable to accept the world's changes yet.
This was a world where the strong preyed on the weak.
After Mei Yuebai killed those doomsday bandits, she hadn't spoken a word.
Xu Qian frowned and strode forward, patting Mei Yuebai's shoulder in the passenger seat. "What's wrong?"
Mei Yuebai trembled and lowered her head. When she looked up, the darkness in her eyes was gone. She smiled faintly and said, "Nothing, I'll go help."
Gu Qing carefully avoided the corpses scattered everywhere and drove the car into the gas station.
The two men split up to find operational fuel pumps, filled the car, then each grabbed a few canisters to store the remaining fuel.
Xu Qian, meanwhile, collected guns. She found eleven handguns and five boxes of ammunition.
After storing the items in her space, Xu Qian took out four self-heating claypot rice packs, sausage and eel flavor. She tore them open, poured in water, and soon, a bubbling sound could be heard.
Li Lili's situation was indescribable. The moment she entered, she saw a naked woman tied to a stool.
Yu Wan'er's eyes lit up when she saw it was a woman. "Save me, save me."
Li Lili frowned. After being deceived by that woman, she was now wary of everything. This wasn't the real world; it was the apocalypse, and she had come to terms with it.
"How do you prove you're a victim?"
Yu Wan'er's face flushed red, and her voice became shrill. "I'm tied up like this, aren't I a victim?"
"Who knows if you guys are playing S&M..." Li Lili muttered under her breath. The woman was alluring and didn't look like a normal woman. Even though she was naked, there was no trace of shyness in her eyes.
Li Lili lowered her gaze and thought. Saving her or not saving her was a dilemma. She took a pair of scissors from the shelf, placed them in the woman's hand, and turned to leave.
"Hey, untie me!" Yu Wan'er shouted, looking up. The woman didn't look back at all.
"Bitch!"
Yu Wan'er looked at the scissors in her hand, her face full of anger. Gritting her teeth, she took two full hours to free herself. By the time she came out, everyone outside was dead.
She spat on Chen Feng's body and stomped hard on his head with her foot to vent her anger. Then, she went to search Chen Feng for guns. Chen Feng clearly had two guns on him, but now there wasn't a single gun on any of them. Helpless, she could only drive away.
When Li Lili came out, she saw the three of them eating fragrant claypot rice. Her eyes instantly turned red. There was one unopened meal left on the table, clearly meant for her. She glanced at Xu Qian, who was eating her claypot rice with her head down, and covered her eyes, crying and laughing.
Gu Qing smiled and called out, "Lili, come and eat. It's ready."
"Okay, coming."
Everyone tactfully avoided asking what had happened to the person inside.
After eating their fill, Xu Qian took out three handguns and handed them to the three of them. Gu Qing and Li Lili accepted them, but Mei Yuebai subtly pushed away the black handgun Xu Qian offered. "I don't want it."
Xu Qian's brow twitched slightly, but she didn't force him.
"Let's go."
