Lian Du’s expression flickered, and he reached out to grab her wrist.
“Xu Qian…”
Xu Qian slapped his hand away and said coldly, “Just say what you want. You’re an enemy, but you did rescue me. As long as it doesn’t involve the X Group, I’ll help you with anything I can.”
Lian Du shook his head, a glint in his foxy eyes. “I don’t want anything.” He had grown up in the X Group, as had his parents. He had never particularly wanted anything. Except her. She was special, able to turn invisible, destroy so many experimental bases, and even cure his illness. He liked her.
Xu Qian shot him a glance, her eyes cold. “Then I can’t help you. Let’s part ways.”
Lian Du smiled grimly, his narrow eyes filled with darkness. “Then that’s not up to you.” He stepped forward and scooped her into his arms.
Xu Qian tried to struggle, but her body wouldn’t move. The girl’s eyes widened slightly. What was happening?
“Do you think I could have gotten this position by being a pushover?” His voice was flippant, his smile cheap.
“Lian Du!”
“Mm~?”
“What do you want?” Even Xu Qian’s cold temper flared. She couldn’t move her body, only her mouth! She couldn’t even access her space! What kind of weird ability was this?
Lian Du’s expression remained unchanged as he carried her back to the helicopter and personally fastened her seatbelt. “Of course, I’m taking you back to atone for your past sins.”
Xu Qian’s lips tightened, and she sneered. “My sins? You think what you’re doing is right?”
“Look at this world. It’s all because of you!”
“Zombies! Mutated beasts! Mutants! Even the plants have mutated!”
Lian Du raised his eyes, his foxy eyes as deep as a dark pool. “You don’t understand. We were…” He paused. “You’ll know later.”
Xu Qian didn’t intend to comply. She turned her face away and looked out the window. She should have killed him then and there! Villains should never be spared!

Xu Qian’s eyes deepened. They were both level three ability users. The difference was only in how many core crystals they had absorbed. She believed she had absorbed enough. She shouldn’t be unable to break free.
The helicopter took off again. Lian Du was in a good mood. He took out a black communicator from his pocket. After he spoke, the mechanisms quickly reopened.
Xu Qian closed her eyes slightly, channeling her mental energy into her limbs. Lian Du’s immense power held her entire body firmly, yet she couldn’t budge an inch. They were both level three ability users, so why was there such a huge difference? Xu Qian gritted her teeth fiercely, blood rushing to her face. She had to get out!
Lian Du could sense her desperate resistance. He glanced at her indifferently, not worried that she would break free. He was a control-type ability user, able to control all things. When his ability was level one, he could already control level two individuals. At level three, almost no one could defeat him. The last time she had controlled him was simply because he had been careless. He had never expected her to be a rare dual-element ability user.
