Chapter 430 Those Who Bring Their Own Ruin Cannot Live

If the guess was correct, there should be a hidden level.

Xiang Jintian immediately explained the situation to Xu Qian.

Xu Qian was a little surprised, she could figure that out?

Xiang Jintian pondered for a moment and said, "Let's search the 14th floor carefully for an entrance. It's very possible that the laboratory is hidden in between the two buildings."

Since there was a clue, Xu Qian did not object and cooperated with him in the search.

The 14th floor was an office area, with countless desks neatly arranged. Many zombies were still sitting blankly at their workstations, stiffly holding telephones.

The two of them meticulously checked every office but found no clues.

Xiang Jintian couldn't help but feel anxious. If it wasn't a hidden level, why was the 13th floor so low?

There must be a reason.

Seeing his distress, Xu Qian comforted him, "Jintian, I believe in you, it's okay. Perhaps there are some places we've overlooked. Let's check again."

Xiang Jintian looked up and met her eyes. The appeasement in her gaze instantly smoothed his inner anxiety.

"Okay, we've checked the offices. Then it can only be in the reception hall."

The two found their direction and began to search carefully.

After searching for a long time, they had almost turned over every corner.

Just as they were about to give up, Xu Qian noticed the large painting in the hall and found it a little strange.

The reception hall was not large, but the painting occupied half of the wall.

She lifted the painting to take a look, and behind it, there was a ladder leading up.

"Jintian, come here!"

A flicker of light flashed in Xiang Jintian's eyes, and he quickly ran over.

He knew it, there was a secret room here.

"Qianqian, be careful."

The two looked at each other and nodded.

They walked up the stairs, and at the very top was a stainless steel door, locked with a small lock.

Such a small lock was easy for Xu Qian. She picked it open, carefully pushed the door open.

The gap in the door gradually widened.

Suddenly, a huge figure lunged at them with extreme speed.

Xu Qian immediately pulled the door shut, letting the thing scratch the stainless steel door with a screeching sound.

"What is that?"

Xu Qian frowned and whispered, "Didn't see clearly, but it's very big."

The two looked at each other and said in unison, "Mutated beast?"

Xu Qian pondered for a moment and said, "I'll go in and scout first."

"Okay, be careful."

Xiang Jintian had high trust in Xu Qian. She rarely did things she wasn't sure of.

Xu Qian raised her wrist and gently shook the magic bell.

"Jingle, jingle."

The air seemed to stagnate.

Xu Qian pushed the door open, and the scene inside appeared before her eyes.

Her pupils contracted. The colossal creature from before was a tiger, not much different from other tigers.

It was 3 meters long, with light yellow fur, black stripes all over its body, and a pair of red beastly eyes. Its massive body was fixed in place.

Xu Qian narrowed her eyes slightly. Orange pupils indicated a Level 1 mutated beast, red pupils a Level 2 mutated beast, and black-purple pupils a Level 3 mutated beast.

She hadn't seen any above that. Level 3 mutated beasts were rare, usually appearing around five to six years into the apocalypse.

Xu Qian shifted her gaze and saw many glass laboratory benches around, large and small, some of which were already broken.

Some small mutated beasts were jumping frantically inside glass containers, their eyes blood-red.

There were many drag marks of blood on the ground, and torn clothes were scattered on the floor. Faintly, one could see many broken bones inside.

These people brought it upon themselves.

They researched mutated beasts, only to end up dying in the mouths of mutated beasts.
