Chapter 368: Chapter 352: If I Had A Choice, I Wish We Never Met_2
"It’s my fault."
Wen Nuan’s warm little hand, with her unique softness, rested on his waist. Leng Yan felt a surge of joy in his heart as he lowered his head to rest it against hers.
"It’s partly my fault too."
"It’s all my fault."
...
The two of them apologized to each other, looked up and gazed into each other’s eyes, filled with joy.
"Isn’t this the room from just now?" Wen Nuan heard Leng Yan tell her that when she was unconscious, he moved her to another room, and she was stunned for a moment, carefully looking around again, only to realize it indeed wasn’t the same room as before. She hadn’t noticed some details earlier in her daze.
"Why did you move?" She cuddled up to his waist lovingly, tilted her head, and asked, her eyes sparkling with an irrepressible smile, "Was it because of me?"
"Who else could it be for?" Leng Yan raised an eyebrow and replied to her, grabbing her fingers and bringing them to his lips, gently biting them, occasionally looking up at her, his brows and eyes full of affection, "I didn’t want you to sleep restlessly tonight, worried you might have nightmares."
"Yan." She called softly, tiptoeing to kiss his cheek, her eyes smiling crescent shapes, "Thank you, Yan, you’re the best to me. Haha, now I can finally have a good night’s sleep."
Saying that, she let go of him and was about to jump onto the big bed. A pair of hands hugged her tightly from behind, not allowing her to fall forward. His chin rested on her shoulder, gently rubbing it, his voice filled with grievance, "Is a ’thank you’ all I get? You’ve forgotten you said ’sorry’ before. Sorry means you need to make it up to me."
"Haha, don’t tickle me." His hand reached under her armpit, gently tickling her, causing her to laugh as she turned around, and the two of them lay down laughing and playing together.
She touched his face with her fingers, laughing and asking, "What kind of compensation?"
"Of course, it’s--to--give--your--whole--self." Leng Yan cleared his throat, deliberately elongating each word, his handsome face very serious, eyes wide open, speaking earnestly.
"No way." Wen Nuan blushed, playfully glaring at him, attempting to turn her head away, "I’m ignoring you, I’m going to sleep now."
"Nonsense! You are my wife, my inescapable wife." He raised an eyebrow, pulled her into his embrace, flipping over and pressing down, speaking as if it was a matter of course.
"Not yet." Wen Nuan was overjoyed in her heart, but her mouth let out a hum, "Neither man nor woman is married, there’s nothing between us. If you dare do anything to me, you’re just playing..." She didn’t get to finish her words before he kissed her fiercely.
"That’s nonsense, unless there’s an intention to marry me. I’m not joking, Nuannuan, I will marry you."
Wen Nuan was speechless; she didn’t expect Leng Yan to bring up this topic. But the seriousness in his voice was undeniable.
She knew he meant it.
He would marry her, truly marry her.
She still didn’t want him to get what he wanted so soon, she wanted to tease him, watching his always serious demeanor turn to playful antics, her heart would be very joyful, very sweet.
"But, I never said I would marry." Nuannuan crinkled her nose, deliberately teasing him, "I don’t have a label on my face saying I’m Leng Yan’s wife. I think I can marry someone else too."
"Nonsense!" Leng Yan raised an eyebrow, hugged her, holding her in his arms, covering her with tender kisses, capturing her lips, the sweet softness of which his kiss would not let go, back and forth without willing to stop.
"Say you’ll only marry me." Leng Yan’s voice grew huskier, his gentle almond-shaped eyes filled with pleading, "Nuannuan, quickly say that in this life, you’ll only marry me."
"I will only marry you, only marry Leng Yan..."
She trembled in his embrace, a long-missing feeling soaked into her heart. Looking at his handsome face, exuding such tender gentleness it could melt, she pouted her red lips, "You say it too."
"I, Leng Yan," Leng Yan raised his hand, placed a kiss on her face, his eyes serious, his voice deep and firm, "From now on, will only love Wen Nuan, I will only marry Wen Nuan as my wife."
"Is it a vow? Alright, I believe you. Yan, let’s spend our whole life together, okay? No matter what happens in the future, we must trust each other, express ourselves, not let the other worry or get hurt, okay?" Wen Nuan’s nose turned sour, rubbing against him like a kitten, she looked up and cupped her face, kissing gently.
After this experience, she has truly grown. Misunderstandings always exist between couples, but if not avoided, it wouldn’t have reached such a point. They’ve wasted so much wonderful time; the days ahead must be sweet to make their love worthwhile.
She knew maybe she was still reluctant to be reunited like this, but she couldn’t deceive her body, nor could she deceive her heart.
"Okay." Leng Yan nodded firmly, gazing at her softly, "From the day I decided to love you, I never thought of separating again. Nuannuan, because of Ji Wei before, I hurt you, and it won’t happen again.
The days you were not by my side, I always missed you, and I needed to hold our fake Marriage Certificate to sleep every night because it has our photos. Although they are Photoshopped, seeing them together gave me the confidence to wait.
I always wondered when we could truly go to the Civil Affairs Bureau and get our legal Marriage Certificate. Several times, while driving by, I couldn’t help but stop and stand at the entrance, watching couples emerge, filled with joy. Seeing their happiness, my heart hoped that I could see you hiding behind some tree, watching me anxiously waiting, and then you’d come running to me, and we’d walk in hand in hand..."
"Don’t say anymore, Yan." Wen Nuan’s tears flowed uncontrollably, watching his reddening eyes, she covered his mouth, "Yan, once the matter with Ji Wei is resolved, we’ll go get our certificate..."
