Chapter 73 - 30: Mist Forest 2

Chapter 73: Chapter 30: Mist Forest 2

Rebecca prepared a very luxurious room for Su Ziyu.

It always felt like being in a medieval palace, with soft carpets laid out in the spacious room, exquisite mural paintings on the walls, a large mahogany bed draped with silky goose down covers, and a row of beautiful maids standing at the doorway, carrying all sorts of delicate food as they walked in.

"This room is probably over three hundred square meters."

As soon as the thought surfaced in Su Ziyu’s mind, he couldn’t help but laugh, shaking his head and saying, "I’m not in the magic city now."

Lina’s world is very primitive, with scarce resources in the Wasteland Era.

At this moment, Su Ziyu was experiencing a luxury that he had never encountered before, something impossible even before his journey, because there were twelve beautiful maids assigned to him, all of them blonde.

"Life of an Emperor is nothing more than this."

Su Ziyu took a comfortable bath, then ate heartily, and proceeded to sleep until dawn.

It was dawn.

It’s time to get down to business.

"This place is nice, but it’s not my home!"

Su Ziyu changed back into his clothes, not sparing another glance for those beautiful maids, picked up his weapon and walked out of the room.

Someone was already waiting outside.

A palace guard led him all the way to a high platform, where Rebecca’s figure appeared ahead, with a quiet giant eagle by her side.

"Let’s go," Su Ziyu approached and said.

The giant eagle spread its wings and soared into the sky.

Sitting on the giant eagle for the second time, Su Ziyu wasn’t as nervous as he was at first.

Diana did not appear.

Not knowing where she went, Su Ziyu didn’t ask.

Rebecca seemed unusually silent today, just like that, she flew quietly with Su Ziyu for half a day, finally landing outside a lush forest.

"This is Mist Forest."

Rebecca pointed ahead, whispering, "Be careful yourself."

"Understood," Su Ziyu nodded.

The Mist Forest is shrouded in a faint mist all year round, with few people nearby, only occasionally some adventurers appear.

"Such a large forest."

"Where should I find the Witch?" Su Ziyu muttered, frowning.

The trees here grow extravagantly, mostly over ten meters tall, each one lush with branches and leaves. Just after stepping in, he was a bit confused about directions. The faint mist enveloping here makes it hard to see clearly beyond thirty meters, no wonder people who enter here get lost.

Thick foliage blocked the sunlight.

Su Ziyu walked for quite a while, not even seeing a bird.

But as he sat down to drink water and eat something, he suddenly felt something brush against his backpack.

This feeling was very familiar.

It was like when he first arrived in this world, some little things teased him a bit.

——"Spiritual Vision."

Within Su Ziyu’s sight, Mist Forest was still the same as before, there was no change under Spiritual Vision except for the slightly grayish hue. However, several little creatures were flying around him, very similar to the little thing he caught initially, just without the sharp teeth.

"Oh?"

"He seems to have discovered us!"

"Run quickly!"

These little creatures actually spoke, without thinking, Su Ziyu reached out to grab but unexpectedly caught just air.

Their movements were swift, each one very nimble.

——"Time Acceleration!"

After wandering in Mist Forest for half a day only to finally see living beings, there was no way he’d let them escape.

Everything around turned into a slow-motion movie, with Su Ziyu’s hand striking like lightning, catching four little elf-like creatures promptly, while the last one, perhaps out of shock, didn’t know to escape.

"Don’t be afraid."

"I won’t hurt you," Su Ziyu said, holding two little elves in one hand, looking at their awkwardly crowded state, slightly relaxing his grip, "I’m here just to find the Witch living here."

"Do you know where she is?"

These little creatures shivered with fear, Su Ziyu pondered for a moment, "I’ll release you. But you can’t run away. Run away and I’ll catch you back."

"Answer my question, and I’ll set you free."

As he loosened his hand, these little elves flew away.

However.

They didn’t run far, just halted a short distance away, looking at him with fear and whispering, "This human can see us!"

"No, that’s not it."

"He carries the scent of the Witch. He might not be a mere human."

"He’s looking for the Witch here?"

"He doesn’t seem like a bad person! Should we tell him?"

The scent of the Witch?

More than one mentioned it.

Su Ziyu sniffed himself, detecting no scent whatsoever, perhaps it’s the blessing given by the Winter Witch before departing?

These little elves gradually calmed down.

Once assured that Su Ziyu wouldn’t harm them, the bravest little elf even dared to fly around him, sniffing left and right like a puppy, seemingly fond of the Witch’s scent. It truly seemed related to the blessing left by the Winter Witch, since she was the Guardian Witch of the Land of the Elf.

"Follow us," the little elves whispered, finally saying in unison.

They led the way as Su Ziyu closely followed.

Not knowing how long the journey was.

Mist Forest can indeed easily disorient people, but he only knew the sky was gradually darkening.

"Just ahead."

"We can’t go any further. The Witch dislikes being disturbed," the little elves said, quickly flying away.

Walking a bit further, the scene ahead began to clear.

Su Ziyu’s gaze fell upon a rustic wooden cabin, with a well not far away, beside which stood a woman in a gray robe, her head lowered as she intricately weaved something, at a closer look, repairing a damaged net. Behind this Witch stood a large tree, more lush than the others, as she repaired the net, she occasionally watered the tree with a ladle.

Seemingly sensing someone approaching.

She slowly lifted her head, softly saying, "You’ve finally arrived."

"I’ve waited for you for quite a long time."

Su Ziyu was shocked at the sight before him, flashes of information from Nordic Mythology fleeting in his mind, hesitantly asking, "Who are you?"

"Scouty," the Witch before him turned, revealing a beautiful yet worn face, she put down the damaged net, stood up and addressed Su Ziyu, saying, "Diana said her successor would come to find me."

"But I didn’t expect to have waited six thousand years for you!"
