Chapter 112: Chapter 29: Queen of the Night 1 [5 Updates]

Night falls.

Although he said he wouldn’t, after dark, Su Ziyu couldn’t resist following Van Helsing out to broaden his horizons.

He was very curious about everything in the City of Freedom.

The night here seemed lively too; near the bars and inns, one could hear the chatter of people, and the smell of roasted lamb could be detected from far away.

In this city, there were many mercenaries and adventurers, many of whom were fugitives from the Southern Countries, forced to come here to make a living to escape capture. However, this city clearly had its rules, as those causing trouble with drinking, fighting, and brawling seemed quite restrained, with hardly anyone resorting to weapons.

Sometimes, human guards patrolled the streets, and indeed, humans were the most populous in this city.

Perhaps humans indeed had an advantage in reproduction.

Whether Van Helsing had been here before was unknown, but he seemed quite familiar with the place, quickly leading Su Ziyu through a dark alleyway, twisting and turning to another area.

The streets here appeared much tidier.

This location should be the trade district, inhabited mostly by the elite class of the City of Freedom, such as nobles, wealthy merchants, warlocks, and others. The roads here were paved with clean cobblestones, and numerous brick buildings lined the narrow streets. On the roadside, one could see some beautiful garden courtyards, a clear sign of a place where wealthy individuals lived.

Soon.

Van Helsing led him to a dark area, where only one brightly lit house stood in front. Its decor seemed quite lavish, and three beautiful young girls in semi-transparent gauzy dresses stood at the entrance.

They were strikingly beautiful.

One was glamorous, one seductive, and one pure and cute.

But oddly enough, there weren’t many guests here, even with such lovely women. Su Ziyu saw hardly anyone entering.

Sizzling.

As they passed through a dark alley, they heard a strange noise, as if unconscious muttering.

Van Helsing frowned and whispered, "Don’t act rashly!"

Su Ziyu’s hand was already on the hilt of his sword, his gaze piercing the darkness to see the source of the strange sound.

He saw a pair of curved goat horns.

This creature had a beautiful female face, dark skin, with peculiar tattoos on its body. Her attire was quite revealing, and she was currently embracing a pale young man. The young man’s complexion was worsening, his face growing pallid like a corpse.

Su Ziyu’s gaze fell on the creature’s legs, and he saw a pair of goat-like hind legs, with feet that were black hooves.

This creature seemed like a hybrid of human and goat, bizarrely beautiful yet evil.

"Succubus."

Van Helsing looked quite serious, whispering, "They are said to be a type of demon."

"They like to tempt humans and drain their life essence qi."

"Be careful."

"These things may not be aggressive, but they’re difficult to deal with."

Just then.

The young man in the succubus’s arms shuddered and convulsed, losing all his strength, and then the succubus tossed him aside as if discarding trash.

A pair of black vertical pupils stared at Su Ziyu and Van Helsing.

The succubus’s alluring face revealed a hazy smile. She licked her lips with her tongue and then vanished into the darkness.

Apparently, she had no intention of provoking the two demon hunters.

"Never expected to find demons here." Van Helsing seemed quite surprised.

The alley carried a faint sulfur smell.

The young man lying on the ground was extremely pale, but he hadn’t died, merely breathing faintly and lapsing into unconsciousness, exuding a faint sulfur scent.

"That succubus just now was formidable." Van Helsing said solemnly, "Don’t provoke her lightly."

Demons are also products of celestial convergence.

However, this world doesn’t have very powerful demons, only some semi-beast-like monsters; warlocks occasionally conjure terrifying entities, but they’re rare to encounter in ordinary times.

Some forbidden magic was banned among warlocks centuries ago.

"Let’s go." Van Helsing didn’t even glance at the young man on the ground.

Queen of the Night.

That’s the name of the vampire brothel. Before entering, Van Helsing whispered, "Don’t take any action regardless of what you see, leave it to me. The vampires here belong to the moderate faction and won’t easily take lives."

"To establish a foothold in the City of Freedom, we need their help."

The aroma inside this brothel was intense.

But Su Ziyu still detected a faint scent of blood; the three girls at the entrance seemed to recognize their identity and their expressions became quite playful, though not very friendly, they deliberately showed a hint of seduction.

Now Su Ziyu was sure.

There were indeed many vampires in this city; the Clover Talisman was trembling slightly and continuously, and the brothel seemed to have many vampires within.

Though there were seemingly also ordinary people inside.

"Van Helsing?"

At the staircase in the hall, a mature and seductive woman was staring hard at Van Helsing with icy amusement, speaking slowly: "You dare to come and see me?"

Her figure vanished in an instant.

Su Ziyu had never seen anyone move so fast, almost comparable to his speed when using Time Acceleration; she appeared in front of Van Helsing in the blink of an eye.

A sharp nail emerged from this woman’s middle finger, lightly pressing against Van Helsing’s throat, ready to pierce his skin with a slight force.

"Anirella." Van Helsing appeared quite calm, shrugging, "This isn’t the way old friends greet each other."

A trickle of blood emerged.

The vampire called Anirella slightly scraped her nail, expression furious: "You ruined my business in Temeria."

"That was just an accident." Van Helsing said softly, "And I helped you escape the pursuit of the Eternal Flame."

"Didn’t I?"

Anirella’s figure instantly appeared five meters away, her face cold: "You did it just for yourself."

"Speak."

"What do you want from me?"

This vampire seemed to have known Van Helsing before; they appeared quite familiar.

Previously, Van Helsing mentioned he had a wild period, which Su Ziyu thought was boasting, but now it seemed he indeed had a wide circle of acquaintances.

"I’m here to discuss a business deal." Van Helsing’s expression was serious, "A profitable big business!"

Anirella furrowed her brows, her gaze swept over Su Ziyu, her nose sniffing as if noticing something, her expression showing a hint of caution.

She turned around and said, "Follow me."

Van Helsing hurried after her, saying to Su Ziyu before leaving, "Relax. Wait here for me, or it doesn’t matter if you play around with them."

"You won’t die."
