Chapter 303 Cancer

"Oh, dear," Xie Wanqing said sheepishly. "Isn't this a bit much? Aunt Lian, I really don't want anything from you. It's just that Aunt Lian, you remind me so much of my mother. Every time I see you, it's like seeing my own mother."

"Good child," Ran Lian said, carefully embracing Xie Wanqing. "Aunt Lian likes Wanqing very much too."

If it weren't for Fang Miaomiao showing up halfway, she would have already married Wanqing to Wen Zhiyan.

"Come, let's go shopping together, Aunt Lian. The birthday banquet this weekend will be at the October Hotel, alright?"

"Aunt Lian," Xie Wanqing's voice trembled.

"Listen to Aunt Lian."

"Thank you, Aunt Lian."

The two arrived at the mall, and at Ran Lian's request, headed straight for the fourth floor to order formal wear.

"Go ahead," Ran Lian said kindly to Xie Wanqing.

"Thank you, Aunt Lian."

While Xie Wanqing was looking at the dress order forms, Ran Lian idly flipped through a catalog.

"Did you see the trending searches?"

"What trending searches? What trending searches?"

"About Actor Wen Lan's trending searches, didn't you know?"

"No, tell us, tell us."

"Oh, it's about Wen Lan and Fang Miaomiao hugging and being close on set. Oh my goodness, hugging and being close on set, that's simply improper behavior."

"No way, didn't Fang Miaomiao marry into the Wen family? Wen Wenlan and Fang Miaomiao should be related. This, the upper class plays so wild?"

Ran Lian heard the hushed whispers of the several service staff behind her and was so angry her hands gripped the catalog tightly.

"You few, are you done yet?" she couldn't help but stand up and address the people behind her.

"Madam, what have we done wrong?"

"Do you know what you were just doing?" Ran Lian's voice trembled with anger. "You were slandering! Believe it or not, I'll sue you."

"Oh my, old madam, it's our break time now. It's fine for us to discuss entertainment gossip, or perhaps the old madam would like to listen too? We don't mind speaking louder." a girl dressed gaudily said.

"Exactly, eavesdropping and then criticizing us, isn't that a bit much."

"You."

The staff member who spoke first took out her phone and waved it at Ran Lian: "Do you want to take a look?"

Ran Lian didn't speak, but her body uncontrollably moved towards the person and took the phone from her hand.

The phone was playing a video.

It looked like a candid shot. Inside, a group of people were gathered. Wen Wenlan and Fang Miaomiao were intertwined, giving off an intimate impression.

"Impossible, this is impossible." The more Ran Lian watched, the angrier she became, her body trembling uncontrollably. Her eyes were fixed on the screen, and she kept muttering.

"Why is it impossible? Why would I lie to you about this?" the staff member sneered. "I say, old madam, have you seen enough? Shouldn't you be returning my phone now?"

"Impossible, this is impossible." Ran Lian, enraged, slammed the phone hard onto the ground.

"What the hell are you doing?"

After she spoke, a scream came from the side.

The trembling old lady, after smashing the phone on the ground, fell straight to the floor.

"I, I didn't do anything. You all saw, right? We were just discussing entertainment gossip." The person's face was also somewhat unsightly.

She was just doing it for money, gossiping here. She never intended to harm anyone, and this had nothing to do with her.

"Stop talking. Quickly call an ambulance, or we'll be in trouble."

"Right, right, call, call."

Not long after, the sound of an ambulance was heard outside the mall.

When Ran Lian opened her eyes again, the first thing she saw was a pure white ceiling.

What had happened to her before?

"Aunt Lian, you're finally awake." Xie Wanqing's eyes were red like peaches as she looked nervously at Ran Lian. "Aunt Lian, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Ran Lian came to her senses. She tried to speak but realized she was wearing an oxygen mask.

"Aunt Lian, you can't talk right now," Xie Wanqing quickly shook her head. "You just lie down, I'll go call the doctor."

Ran Lian watched Xie Wanqing busily attending to her, feeling a heavy weight in her chest.

After the doctor examined Ran Lian, they reassured her: "Don't get angry recently. Stay in a good mood, understand?"

Ran Lian nodded weakly.

"Doctor, is there anything you want to tell me?" Xie Wanqing asked the doctor nervously.

"May I ask what your relationship is with the patient?"

Xie Wanqing's eyes flickered. "She's my mother. Doctor, is there something wrong with my mother's health?"

"Yes," the doctor nodded. "Based on the examination just now, we strongly suspect your mother has cholangiocarcinoma."

"Cholangiocarcinoma?" Xie Wanqing was stunned. "How is that possible? My mother usually eats very well. How could she suddenly get cancer? Doctor, are you joking?"

"How could I be?" The doctor looked somewhat displeased. "We don't joke with patients about such serious matters."

"I'm sorry, Doctor, I didn't mean that. I just didn't react immediately."

Seeing her gentle and weak demeanor, the doctor waved dismissively. "For the specific situation, we still recommend your mother undergo a detailed examination. This disease is treatable."

"Thank you, Doctor. We will."

The doctor didn't say much and left directly.

"Wanqing, what did the doctor say to you?"

"Nothing," Xie Wanqing said, arranging the blanket for Ran Lian. "The doctor said you were just too agitated just now and need to stay happy and calm, no more anger. You can't get angry anymore."

"Don't even mention it."

Speaking of which, Ran Lian was filled with anger again. "I told you long ago, Fang Miaomiao is a curse, a curse!"

"Aunt Lian, did something happen?"

"It's not just..." Ran Lian's voice stopped abruptly. "Never mind, it's nothing. Wanqing, Aunt Lian doesn't like staying in the hospital. Can we go home?"

Xie Wanqing nodded. "Okay, I'll take Aunt Lian home. But Aunt Lian, you still need to take care of your health from now on, you can't do this again. You don't know how worried I was when I saw you lying on the ground."

"Don't be afraid, Aunt Lian is fine."

After escorting Ran Lian home, Xie Wanqing gave a few more instructions before returning to her own home.

She sat on the sofa, thinking for a long time, and finally dialed a number.

After a while, the call was connected.

"Your side, why does it sound like there are many people?"

"That has nothing to do with you. Speak, why are you calling."

Xie Wanqing didn't hide it. "Is the family doctor for Yu Garden someone you know?"

The person on the other end of the line smiled, a half-smile on their lips. "When did you find out?"

"Don't worry about that. Just tell me, is it?"
