Chapter 575: Decent person
A real person would never say something like that, listen, do those sound like words that should come out of a person’s mouth?
"I don’t know either, I just... fell in love," said Lin Murong, popping Green Bean Cakes into his mouth one after another.
Su Yinhe was engrossed in the drama and had no idea what sorts of weird things Chi Yan was thinking about all by himself.
Chi Yan fed her a piece, ate one himself, and was lucky that Lin Murong didn’t wander over; otherwise, he’d have shouted ’stop abusing single dogs’ again.
His timing was perfect. Just as Su Yinhe finished the drama, the fruit was also consumed.
Everything was just right.
He always had such a good handle on timing.
"Is it delicious?" Chi Yan asked her.
Su Yinhe still had the last piece of watermelon in her mouth.
She chewed on it. The watermelon was sweet, juicy, and delicious. "It’s delicious."
"Do you like it?" he asked again.
"I like it, of course, I like it. How could I not?"
"Then I’ll make another one for you next time. Or, I could go make a few more right now, then store them in the space, so whenever you feel like eating them, you can just take them out..."
"No, no, that’s not necessary. You... don’t need to make so much. Don’t tire yourself out. I’d feel bad."
"It’s not tiring, just cutting some fruit, how could that be tiring." Chi Yan stroked her head.
"I know, but, I just feel for you," Su Yinhe playfully pouted.
Chi Yan’s gaze on her deepened.
"Okay, thank you. I really... like you a lot." He couldn’t help liking her. His affection for her was growing stronger by the day.
He really, really wished he could lock her away.
Just for himself to see.
No one else would be allowed to look.
She was his and his alone.
But he couldn’t do that, she would be unhappy.
He didn’t want her to be unhappy, he wanted her to do anything she liked. To be happy.
"Ah... Why... why are you confessing out of the blue again, it’s a bit embarrassing." Su Yinhe touched her face, which she felt was burning hot.
Really now.
"I don’t know. Maybe it’s because..." I like you too much.
Because he liked her so much, he always found it hard to restrain himself, the love was hard to keep in check.
"Alright, alright, I get it, I know what you’re going to say. Don’t say it." She... felt shy. Really shy.
Chi Yan watched her and chuckled softly.
"Okay, as you wish."
Lin Murong wandered and wandered and still ended up here.
Luckily, his wandering over happened at an okay time without interruption.
But it was a close call.
"Yo, Galaxy, you’re really enjoying yourself, aren’t you? You’ve got drama, snacks, bubble tea, and a man. And if I’m not mistaken, there’ll be an empty fruit plate." Lin Murong said, glancing at Chi Yan.
His last comment was obviously said in a teasing, singsong tone.
Su Yinhe: "..."
"Heh, well, it’s only fair. After all, I am the boss, aren’t I? If I don’t enjoy the perks, who will?" Su Yinhe raised an eyebrow at him.
Lin Murong: "..."
That’s... fair, right?
"Um... What are you doing?" Su Yinhe couldn’t help asking as she watched Lin Murong’s odd behavior.
Lin Murong was actually...
Sniffing...
The plate.
Yeah, the one that had the fruit on it.
Is it that fragrant?
What kind of weird hobby is this?
"Me? I didn’t get to eat any, is smelling it not allowed?" Lin Murong sounded quite aggrieved.
Su Yinhe: "..."
Okay, there was yet another story she didn’t know about.
Su Yinhe glanced at Chi Yan.
What had happened between those two again?
"Nothing, his brain’s just not right." Even though Su Yinhe hadn’t spoken, he knew what she wanted to say; her expression was quite clear.
Su Yinhe: "..."
Hmm, it’s confirmed—both are not quite normal.
In such a huge supermarket, she must be the only normal person.
They’re all abnormal.
Only she’s the most normal.
"You’re the abnormal one! Brother Chi, you’re falsely accusing people!" Lin Murong got angry. He could let go of not getting to eat the fruit platter, but being slandered by Chi Yan was too much.
Unfair.
"Whether it’s slander... you know it yourself," Chi Yan said expressionlessly.
Lin Murong: "..."
It seemed... it wasn’t really slander.
But...
He could be irrational, yet still feel indignant.
No matter what.
"Not okay, you’re slandering, apologize! Or else I’ll... I’ll..." Lin Murong "will" for quite a while but still couldn’t finish his threat.
"Heh. Take your time figuring it out."
"Hey! Galaxy! You need to do something about this," Lin Murong, unable to do anything about Chi Yan, turned to Su Yinhe.
Su Yinhe: "..." She didn’t really have any solution.
She couldn’t confront Chi Yan... Besides, she didn’t want to confront him.
Su Yinhe’s eyes flickered, and she chose to target Lin Murong.
"Lin Murong, do you want some fries?"
Lin Murong: "??? Sure..." Lin Murong felt a bit uneasy saying this.
It wasn’t because he was too full to eat anymore—he ate quickly and digested quickly.
He could eat right away.
It was just that Su Yinhe’s question sounded somehow terrifying.
"Okay, then go peel some potatoes. After you’re done, I’ll make you fries." Su Yinhe made a heart gesture at him.
Lin Murong: "???"
"You’re going to make them yourself?!!!" Lin Murong let out a high-pitched scream.
"Yeah, touched, aren’t you?" Su Yinhe winked at him.
"Moved, so moved, truly moved," Lin Murong was a bit scared, "But actually, I don’t need to eat them." It wasn’t that he didn’t want to peel potatoes; he was just a little scared.
"Not eat? Why not? What right do you have not to eat? Eat! You must eat for me! How can you not eat? I’m personally going to make fries, and you’re saying you don’t want to eat?" Su Yinhe’s face looked rather unpleasant.
"But... how dare I trouble our boss to personally cook. This little task, I can do it myself. And I don’t even like fries that much." He never really liked them.
Lin Murong felt like crying.
"No way, you love them now. Wait until I make them for you." Su Yinhe patted his shoulder.
"Ah... okay then." Lin Murong’s face was a picture of misery, he now had a very bad premonition.
"Good boy. Go peel the potatoes," Su Yinhe made another heart gesture at him.
Lin Murong: "..."
Darn it.
He really didn’t want to eat fries anymore.
But Su Yinhe forced him to want to.
Damn it.
He couldn’t even resist.
Lin Murong obediently went to peel the potatoes.
Su Yinhe felt quite clever, having avoided a quarrel without making a sound.
However, after dispatching Lin Murong to peel potatoes, she had forgotten about Chi Yan.
Once Lin Murong left, Chi Yan became unhappy.
"You’re making him fries?"
"Ah, yes. What about it?"
"No, I don’t agree," Chi Yan was very displeased.
"Why? It’s just fries."
"You’ve never made them for me. You’ve started with him first," Chi Yan was very displeased.
"Ah, but... well... you... don’t like this kind of stuff, do you?" This kind of stuff, the fried kind, was what Chi Yan liked the least.
"I may not like it, but it’s something you made." Chi Yan would like anything made by Galaxy.
"You... cough, cough, cough." Su Yinhe felt a bit awkward again.
"Well... once I’m done, you eat first, and Lin Murong can have the leftovers," Su Yinhe proposed a solution.
Chi Yan was still not quite satisfied.
