Chapter 508: Helpless

Chapter 508: Helpless

"I just couldn’t help it. I didn’t necessarily want to do that," Lin Murong said, feeling wronged.

"I don’t know, I just... fell in love," Lin Murong continued, popping a Green Bean Cake into his mouth with each word.

Su Yinhe was engrossed in the drama and didn’t realize that Chi Yan was thinking about some weird stuff all by himself.

Chi Yan fed her a piece, then ate one himself, thanking his lucky stars that Lin Murong hadn’t strolled over; otherwise, he’d be yelling ’stop flaunting your love’ again.

His timing was just right—Su Yinhe finished the drama right when the fruit was all eaten.

Everything was just right.

He always had a good sense of timing.

"Is it good?" Chi Yan asked her.

Su Yinhe still had the last piece of watermelon in her mouth.

She chewed, finding the watermelon sweet, juicy, and delicious. "Good."

"Do you like it?" he asked again.

"Like it? Of course, I like it. How could I not?" she replied.

"Then, I’ll make you another one next time. Or, I could make a few more now, put them in the storage, and when you feel like eating, just take it out..."

"No, no, no need... you don’t have to go through all that trouble. It makes me feel bad."

"It’s not trouble, just cutting some fruit. How could that be troublesome?" Chi Yan stroked her head.

"I know, it’s just... I feel for you," Su Yinhe said coquettishly.

Chi Yan looked at her with a deeper gaze.

"Alright, thank you. I really... like you a lot." He always found her so wonderful—how could he not fall more and more in love with her?

He longed, so dearly, to keep her all to himself.

For her to be seen only by him.

For no one else to look at her.

She was his and his alone.

But he couldn’t do that; it would make her unhappy.

He didn’t want her to be unhappy; he wished for her to do whatever she wanted and to be happy.

"Ah... why are you... confessing out of the blue again? It’s kind of embarrassing," Su Yinhe said as she touched her face, feeling it grow warm.

Really now.

"I don’t know. Maybe it’s because..." I like you too much.

Because he liked her too much, he couldn’t restrain himself, and his affection was unstoppable.

"Alright, alright, I get it; I know what you want to say. Don’t say it," she said, feeling... embarrassed. Truly embarrassed.

Chi Yan watched her and let out a gentle chuckle.

"Okay, I’ll listen to you."

Lin Murong wandered around and, sure enough, ended up here.

Luckily, his timing was still okay, and he didn’t run into anything embarrassing.

Just barely.

"Yo, Galaxy, you’re really enjoying yourself. You’ve got dramas, snacks, milk tea, and a man. And if I’m not mistaken, a fruit platter that’s been polished off," Lin Murong said, glancing at Chi Yan.

His last comment was unmistakably sarcastic.

Su Yinhe: "..."

"Hehe, not bad. After all, I am the boss. If I don’t enjoy myself, who will?" Su Yinhe cocked an eyebrow at him.

Lin Murong: "..."

That’s... fair?

"Um... what are you doing?" Su Yinhe couldn’t help but ask, seeing Lin Murong acting oddly.

Lin Murong was actually...

Sniffing...

The dish.

Yes, the one that had held the fruit.

Is it that fragrant?

What a strange hobby.

"Me? I didn’t get to eat, so can’t I at least have a sniff?" Lin Murong said, sounding melancholic.

Su Yinhe: "..."

Okay, another story she didn’t know about.

Su Yinhe glanced at Chi Yan.

Those two, something must have happened again.

"It’s nothing; his mind is just not quite right." Although Su Yinhe didn’t speak, Chi Yan knew what she wanted to say; her gaze said it all.

Su Yinhe: "..."

Hmm, confirmed, both are not quite normal.

Such a large supermarket, and she’s the only normal one.

They are all not normal.

Only she is most normal.

"You’re the one who’s not normal! Brother Chi, you’re slandering people!" Lin Murong grew angry. It was bad enough that he didn’t get to eat the fruit platter, but now he was being slandered by Chi Yan.

This is too much.

"Whether it’s slander or not... you know it yourself," said Chi Yan, expressionless.

Lin Murong: "..."

It seems... it might not be slander after all.

But...

He wasn’t making sense, yet he still felt confident.

Doesn’t matter.

"That’s not right, you’re slandering, apologize! Otherwise, I... I will..." Lin Murong struggled to finish his sentence.

"Heh. Take your time then."

"Hey! Galaxy! Do something," Lin Murong, having no way to deal with Chi Yan, turned to Su Yinhe.

Su Yinhe: "..." She didn’t really have any good solutions.

She obviously couldn’t... confront Chi Yan. Besides, she didn’t want to confront him.

Su Yinhe’s eyes shifted as she decided to take it out on Lin Murong.

"Lin Murong, do you want some fries?"

Lin Murong: "??? Sure..." Lin Murong said hesitantly.

It wasn’t because he was full and could not eat anymore, as he ate quickly and digested quickly.

He could eat again soon.

It was just that when Su Yinhe asked, it felt somehow terrifying.

"Alright then, you go peel the potatoes. I’ll make you fries after you’re done," Su Yinhe said as she made a heart shape with her fingers.

Lin Murong: "???"

"You’re going to personally make them??!!!" Lin Murong let out a piercing scream.

"Yeah, aren’t you touched?" Su Yinhe winked at him.

"So touched, deeply touched," Lin Murong said, a bit fearful, "But actually, I can go without eating them." It wasn’t that he didn’t want to peel potatoes; he was just a bit scared.

"Not going to eat? Why not eat? How can you not eat? Eat! You must eat for me! How can you not eat? I’m personally making fries, and you’re saying you don’t want to eat?" Su Yinhe looked displeased.

"But... I don’t dare trouble our boss with such a task. I can handle this small matter myself. I’m not that into fries anyway." He didn’t really like them in the first place.

Lin Murong felt like crying.

"No way, you love them now. Wait for me to make them," Su Yinhe patted his shoulder.

"Ah... okay then." Lin Murong had a gloomy face, now filled with a terrible premonition.

"Good. Go peel them," Su Yinhe said, making another heart shape with her fingers.

Lin Murong: "..."

So annoying.

He really didn’t want to eat fries anymore.

But Su Yinhe was forcing him to want them.

Damn it.

He couldn’t even resist.

Lin Murong obediently went to peel the potatoes.

Su Yinhe felt she was very clever, effortlessly averting an argument.

However, she had sent Lin Murong to peel potatoes and had forgotten about Chi Yan.

When Lin Murong left, Chi Yan became unhappy.

"You’re making him fries?"

"Ah, yes. What about it?"

"No way, I don’t agree," Chi Yan was unhappy.

"Why not? It’s just fries."

"You haven’t made any for me. You’re making them for him first," Chi Yan complained again.

"Ah, but... um... you... you don’t eat this kind of thing," Su Yinhe referred to the fried food that Chi Yan disliked the most.

"I don’t like it, but that’s only because it’s not made by you." Whatever Galaxy made, he liked.

"You... cough, cough, cough," Su Yinhe felt embarrassed again.

"Then... once I’m done, you eat first, Lin Murong can have what’s left," Su Yinhe suggested a solution.

Chi Yan was still not quite pleased.
