Chapter 505: farce
"This is just a farce."
"I don’t know, I just fell for it," Lin Murong said as he ate one Green Bean Cake after another.
Su Yinhe was focused on the drama and was unaware that Chi Yan was thinking some strange things to himself.
Chi Yan fed her a piece and ate one himself, thankfully Lin Murong wasn’t around to cry out ’Stop showing off your love!’ again.
His timing was perfect, as Su Yinhe finished the drama, they also finished the fruit just in time.
Everything was just right.
He had always been good at controlling time.
"Is it tasty?" Chi Yan asked her.
Su Yinhe still had the last piece of watermelon in her mouth.
She chewed, the watermelon was sweet, juicy, and delicious. "Tasty."
"Do you like it?" he asked again.
"I like it, of course I like it. How could I not?" she replied.
"Then I’ll make you another one next time. Or, I could make a few more now and put them in the space, and when you feel like eating, just take them out..."
"No need, no need, you... don’t have to make so much. Don’t overwork yourself. I feel quite embarrassed."
"It’s not hard work, just cutting some fruit, how could it be hard?" Chi Yan touched her head.
"I know, it’s just that, I care about you," Su Yinhe acted a little spoiled.
Chi Yan looked at her with an even deeper gaze.
"Okay, thank you. I really... like you a lot." How could he not like her when she was always so considerate? He liked her more and more.
He really wanted to keep her all to himself.
Just for him to see.
No one else was allowed to look.
She was his and his alone.
But he couldn’t do that, she would be unhappy.
He didn’t want her to be unhappy; he wanted her to do whatever she wanted and to be happy.
"Ah... Why... suddenly confessing again, it’s a bit embarrassing," Su Yinhe touched her face, feeling it heat up.
Really now.
"I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I... like you too much."
Because he liked her too much, he always found it hard to restrain himself, love was always hard to contain.
"Okay okay okay, I get it, I know what you’re going to say. Don’t say it," she... felt shy. Really shy.
Chi Yan looked at her and chuckled softly.
"Alright, as you wish."
Lin Murong just happened to stroll by.
Luckily, he strolled by at the right time and didn’t bump into anything.
Still, it was a close call.
"Yo, Galaxy, you’re really enjoying yourself, having dramas, snacks, milk tea, and a man. And if I’m not mistaken, an empty fruit platter too," Lin Murong said, giving Chi Yan a glance.
His last comment was quite sarcastic.
Su Yinhe: "..."
"Ha, it’s alright. After all, I am the boss, right? If I don’t enjoy, who will?" Su Yinhe raised an eyebrow at him.
Lin Murong: "..."
That’s... true?
"Hmm... what are you doing?" Su Yinhe couldn’t help but ask as she noticed Lin Murong’s odd behavior.
Lin Murong was actually...
Sniffing...
The plate.
Yes, the one that had held the fruit.
Is it that fragrant?
What a weird hobby.
"Me? I didn’t get to eat any, isn’t it alright if I just smell it?" Lin Murong looked rather aggrieved.
Su Yinhe: "..."
Okay, another story she didn’t know about.
Su Yinhe glanced at Chi Yan.
Something else had happened between the two of them.
"Nothing, his brain isn’t working right," even though Su Yinhe hadn’t spoken, he knew what she wanted to say, it was obvious from her gaze.
Su Yinhe: "..."
Yeah, diagnosed, both of them are not quite normal.
In such a huge supermarket, she seemed to be the only normal person.
They were all abnormal.
She was the only one who was normal.
"You’re the abnormal one! Brother Chi, you’re slandering me!" Lin Murong got angry. He had missed out on the fruit platter, but now he had to deal with Chi Yan’s slander.
That was too much.
"Whether it’s slander or not... you know it yourself," Chi Yan said expressionlessly.
Lin Murong: "..."
It seemed... it really wasn’t slander.
But...
Even if not reasonable, he still felt quite indignant.
It didn’t matter.
"No way, you are slandering me, you apologize! Or else I will... I will..." Lin Murong "will" for a long time, but still didn’t come up with anything.
"Heh, take your time ’willing’."
"Hey! Galaxy! You take care of this," Lin Murong, having no way to deal with Chi Yan, turned his attention to Su Yinhe.
Su Yinhe: "..." She didn’t really have a solution either.
She certainly couldn’t... confront Chi Yan. Besides, she didn’t want to confront him.
Su Yinhe’s eyes shifted, choosing to start with Lin Murong instead.
"Lin Murong, do you want to eat fries?"
Lin Murong: "??? Sure..." Lin Murong said hesitantly.
It wasn’t because he was full and couldn’t eat anymore—his fast metabolism allowed him to eat again very soon.
Just that, the way Su Yinhe asked sounded somehow terrifying.
"Alright then, go peel the potatoes. Once you peel them, I’ll make you fries." Su Yinhe gestured a heart at him.
Lin Murong: "????"
"You’re personally going to make them??!!!" Lin Murong let out a shrill cry.
"Right, touched, aren’t you?" Su Yinhe winked at him.
"Touched, touched, incredibly touched," Lin Murong said with a bit of fear, "but actually, I can go without eating them." It wasn’t that he didn’t want to peel potatoes; he was just a bit scared.
"Not eat? Why not? What gives you the right not to eat? Eat! You must eat for me! How could you not eat? I’m making the fries personally, and you don’t want to eat?" Su Yinhe looked displeased.
"But... how dare I bother our boss to do it personally. It’s just a small task, I can do it myself. Plus, I don’t really like fries that much." He wasn’t fond of them to begin with.
Lin Murong felt like whining and crying.
"No way, you like them now. Wait till I make them for you," Su Yinhe patted his shoulder.
"Ah... okay then." Lin Murong went off with a mournful face, now having a very bad premonition.
"Good boy. Go peel them," Su Yinhe gestured a heart at him again.
Lin Murong: "..."
Damn it.
He really didn’t want to eat fries anymore.
But Su Yinhe was forcing him to want them.
That was so annoying.
And he couldn’t even fight back.
Lin Murong obediently went to peel the potatoes.
Su Yinhe felt very clever, having smoothly avoided an argument.
Only, after sending Lin Murong off to peel potatoes, she had forgotten about Chi Yan.
As soon as Lin Murong left, Chi Yan became unhappy.
"You’re making him fries?"
"Ah, yes. What’s wrong with that?"
"No, I don’t agree," Chi Yan was quite unhappy.
"Why not? It’s just fries."
"But you’ve never made them for me. You made them for him first," Chi Yan was quite unhappy.
"Ah, but... um... you... you don’t like that sort of thing, right?" That sort of thing, fried foods, was what Chi Yan liked least.
"I don’t like them, but they’re made by you." Whatever Galaxy made, he liked.
"You... cough cough cough." Su Yinhe felt a bit embarrassed again.
"Then... when I finish making them, you eat first, and Lin Murong can have the leftovers," Su Yinhe offered a solution.
Chi Yan was still not quite satisfied.
