Chen Tian’s fists flew out in rapid succession, a hundred punches per second at least. The Third Elder remained unfazed by Chen Tian’s onslaught, his palms moving as fast as Chen Tian’s fists. The entire arena vibrated with the clash of hands and fists. As the fight progressed, their movements became a blur, too fast for the naked eye to follow. Explosions echoed repeatedly. Chen Tian and the Third Elder were forced back a few steps, the collision leaving them evenly matched.
The Third Elder hadn’t expected Chen Tian to be so powerful and had to re-evaluate his initial assessment. He decided to take this fight seriously now, realizing the opponent’s strength was likely comparable to his own. He had only used thirty percent of his power, while Chen Tian was at fifty percent. Chen Tian had concealed his aura, preventing the Third Elder from discerning his true strength and thus making him hesitant to go all out. This uncertainty also affected Chen Tian, as he was unsure of the Third Elder’s full capabilities.
A full-power strike could lead to instant death. If it failed to finish the opponent, it would be his own demise. Neither dared to gamble on such a possibility. This was a fight for survival, and both had trump cards they were unwilling to reveal. They would learn about each other’s strengths slowly, defeating their opponent piece by piece. Whoever exposed their trump card first would lose. This was a battle for life itself. The Third Elder took a step forward, a phantom image appearing behind him. It vanished in an instant, unnoticed by the cultivators below. On the stage, Chen Tian noticed the fleeting illusion.
Despite his confusion, Chen Tian was forced to defend as the Third Elder’s attack pressed on. The Third Elder clenched his left fist tightly, a tremendous power gathering within it. He threw a punch, and the surrounding air and space seemed to tremble, emitting a humming sound. The force of this punch vibrated through space. Chen Tian crossed his arms, energy-formed armguards covering them. His arms met the Third Elder’s fist with a thunderous roar!
An aura swept out from the center of their collision. The Third Elder’s lips curled into a smile as the power in his fist sent Chen Tian staggering back five steps. Before Chen Tian could react, the Third Elder appeared behind him and struck at his back. Chen Tian’s body hadn't yet stabilized. This punch was unavoidable. The Third Elder envisioned Chen Tian being smashed to death by this blow. As the punch neared its target—
Suddenly, the fist passed through Chen Tian’s body. Yes, it passed through. Chen Tian’s form seemed to become ethereal, his body transparent. The Third Elder’s punch went right through him, smashing into the arena floor. Debris flew upwards, creating a massive pit and spreading cracks. Considering that their previous exchanges had left the arena unharmed, the power of this punch was evident. Chen Tian was grateful he had immediately used his illusory ability, rendering himself incorporeal and immune to physical attacks.
This was the ability of Chen Tian’s third life, the Illusory Demon Lord. Without activating his Samsara Body, he could research the abilities and martial arts of other Samsara Bodies. This illusory state was something Chen Tian had simulated based on the illusory state. He had long wanted to try it but never had the opportunity. Today, it presented itself perfectly, and it worked just as he had imagined.
“What a peculiar ability.”
The Third Elder was inwardly astonished. Chen Tian’s ability was strange, seemingly immune to physical attacks. The timing and speed of that punch, combined with Chen Tian’s state at the time, made it impossible for even him to dodge. That illusory ability was truly troublesome. However, he didn’t believe Chen Tian could maintain it indefinitely. The Third Elder attacked again, taking complete control of the initiative. Just as Chen Tian had anticipated, if the Third Elder unleashed his full strength, Chen Tian’s chances of winning were only thirty percent, and that relied heavily on the illusory state ability.
This ability gave the Third Elder a headache. He decisively abandoned his fist and foot combat. Since his opponent was immune to physical attacks, he manifested his full aura, which coalesced into twin wheels attached to his arms. The silver wheels appeared as if they were real weapons, but they were formed from the Third Elder’s internal energy. Only cultivators with an extremely high mastery of energy could manifest it in such a form.
“Boy, bring out your weapon!”
The Third Elder showed no regard for Chen Tian, seeing him as merely struggling in his final moments. If he became slightly more serious, killing Chen Tian would be effortless.
Chen Tian shook his head, his hands clenched. Energy from heaven and earth gathered in his palms, and twin blades appeared in his hands. This display shocked everyone. He possessed the same technique as the Third Elder of the Tianyun Sect. At his age!
At merely a dozen years old, he had such mastery. His future was limitless. He was a monstrous talent, a cultivator with whom no others could compare.
The Third Elder was somewhat taken aback. A cultivator of this age possessing the same mastery of energy as himself… this was a demon among demons. Such a person absolutely could not be allowed to live. Provoking him meant eradicating him completely, otherwise, he had no idea how he would die when this person grew stronger.
A killing intent surged in his heart. His eyes fixed on Chen Tian. Chen Tian remained unfazed, fully aware of the opponent’s thoughts. Chen Tian wielded twin blades, the most suitable weapons for him in this lifetime. With twin blades in hand, Chen Tian’s strength increased by at least thirty percent.
This thirty percent gave Chen Tian a greater chance of victory. The Third Elder raised his arms and swung, the twin wheels on his arms attacking Chen Tian from both sides.
Chen Tian’s twin blades moved in rapid succession, and with two crisp sounds, the twin wheels were deflected. The twin wheels were connected to the Third Elder’s arms, allowing him to control them with a single movement. The deflected wheels spun and attacked Chen Tian from behind.
Chen Tian’s body rotated, his blades scraping against the wheels. Sparks flew. Facing the onslaught of the twin wheels, the twin blades struggled. Chen Tian’s strength was indeed inferior to the Third Elder’s.
Chen Tian was forced to adopt a defensive stance, using a technique to redirect the force of the twin wheels. The attack path of the wheels was altered. Just as Chen Tian was about to turn and counterattack, the Third Elder seemed to have anticipated this. He pulled his arms back, and the deflected wheels, with a nimble maneuver, attacked Chen Tian.
Chen Tian reacted swiftly, retreating continuously. He unleashed countless blade-light projections with his twin blades, which collided with the twin wheels, significantly slowing their speed.
Chen Tian felt that these twin wheel weapons were truly troublesome, agile like nimble serpents. Chen Tian’s attacks had no effect on the wheels.
The Third Elder pulled his left arm upwards, and the twin wheels swept past Chen Tian’s face. Chen Tian instantly blocked with his twin blades. The silver wheels and the blade edges continuously scraped against each other, rising towards the sky. The Third Elder then brought his arm down, and the wheels plummeted. Cracks appeared on the body of Chen Tian’s twin blades.
The power of these twin wheels could shatter Chen Tian’s blades. Chen Tian was somewhat bewildered. After all, the energy within Chen Tian was pure. In terms of energy purity, the twin wheels should have been the ones to shatter.
