Chapter 777: Xie Yuan Dies (Part 2)

Faced with the creature before him, Chen Tian was utterly defenseless, how could he continue fighting? Chen Tian's attacks were of no use against the giant whale; they didn't even chip its scales. Its immense defense and massive body loomed over Chen Tian. The giant whale's body shifted, its enormous tail sweeping down towards Chen Tian. Chen Tian's figure darted away swiftly. This time, Chen Tian was smarter, evading in advance before the tail could cover his position. The tail struck nothingness, leaving behind a black void that slowly shrank like a vortex.

A fierce attack, one that Chen Tian dared not face head-on. It was powerful. Chen Tian estimated that taking this blow would instantly leave him severely injured. This was no joke; the void itself had been struck into a hole. Was Chen Tian's body stronger than the void? Impossible. Even entering the void would have instantly crushed Chen Tian. The intensity of the void was evident, and this attack that created a void was not to be underestimated. However, this was beneficial for Chen Tian; the opponent's massive size meant it couldn't move, making it a stationary target.

Chen Tian was well aware of this weakness. If he could exploit it, Chen Tian could wear the opponent down and defeat it. The premise, however, was how to break through its defense. The creature was covered in scales, forming a protective shell. As a cosmic being, breaking through its defense required cosmic energy. Chen Tian was not in his true form now; where would he find cosmic energy? The giant whale's tail struck again, this time with even greater speed. A moment's delay and Chen Tian would perish here.

Chen Tian made evasive moves in advance, his mind constantly calculating various scenarios. The timing of the tail's descent was all within Chen Tian's calculations. He only needed to shift his position a few seconds earlier. Chen Tian moved to the other side, shaking his head, deciding to test it first. Even the strongest defense had a limit; it couldn't be that Chen Tian's attacks caused no damage. If there was no damage, it simply meant his output was insufficient. In the face of absolute power, all defenses were like paper.

Energy gathered in Chen Tian's palm. His wings unfurled, a five-colored radiance blooming. The void was illuminated by the light as his figure transformed into a five-colored beam, charging towards the giant whale. The giant whale roared, its sonic wave spreading out. Chen Tian activated his defenses and retreated, unable to advance. The roar was terrifying. Chen Tian knew close-quarters combat was impossible and changed his strategy. The giant whale's massive body made it a perfect stationary target. Chen Tian couldn't engage in melee, so he resorted to ranged attacks, though melee would have dealt more damage.

His current method was no good for close combat. As Chen Tian was about to make a move, countless black thorns shot out from the giant whale's body, covering Chen Tian's vision. His world turned dark, completely enveloped. Chen Tian decisively and quickly erected a shield. "Ding ding ding" sounds echoed as he retreated. These black thorns didn't inflict much damage, but there were too many. Chen Tian, already under strain, would be pushed back with each hit. Damn it.

Chen Tian hadn't expected the creature to possess such a skill to prevent him from getting close. Chen Tian slowly opened his palm, pouring energy into his shield, which now shone brilliantly and gathered in his palm. A sphere of light swirled with airflow in Chen Tian's hand, the airflow spinning like a rotating orb. The black thorns attacked, and in the next second, they were all absorbed into Chen Tian's sphere of light. Chen Tian clenched his fist, the sphere exploded, and along with it, the endless black thorns vanished.

This move consumed a full forty percent of Chen Tian's internal energy, leaving him with sixty percent. He quickly raised his hand, determined not to let the behemoth continue its assault. If he continued defending, he would run out of energy first, leaving him unable to even move, let alone fight. Moreover, he was not fully recovered and not in peak condition. He needed to end the battle quickly. Sixty percent of his strength gathered in his palm, a point flickering at its center. As the light point flickered, the entire void was wracked by gales, torrential rain, hail, and other phenomena.

Chen Tian unleashed all his energy: divine ice, divine fire, elemental powers – his full strength condensed into one attack. Chen Tian gambled that this move could break through the creature's defense. The light point in his palm was buffeted by the wind, struck by lightning, and infused with divine ice and fire. A halo floated from his palm, a seven-colored wheel, small and still, appearing perfect upon closer inspection. Chen Tian made a throwing motion, and the halo shot out towards the giant whale.

The giant whale sensed something and roared. This time, the sonic wave was more powerful than before. Chen Tian's attack had instilled a sense of crisis in the giant whale, albeit a slight one. For a cosmic being, to feel threatened by a native's move in this place, what a joke! An attack devoid of cosmic energy making it feel threatened, it was a humiliation.

One must understand that the universe and worlds are different concepts. Conceptually, Chen Tian's attacks were immune and harmless to the giant whale. But now, feeling threatened, what did this mean? This human before it could seriously injure it. How could it not be enraged? The dignity of a cosmic being would not allow it to be trampled by someone from another world. With its roar, black and blue light spots appeared all over the giant whale's body, densely packed, as if changing its entire color.

The density was terrifying. Even Chen Tian felt a shiver, a touch of trypophobia. The halo attacked the giant whale and reached halfway in just a few seconds. At this moment, the giant whale opened its mouth and spewed out a black-blue stream of water. The water, like a waterfall, collided with Chen Tian's halo. The halo pressed forward resolutely, cutting the water stream in two. Chen Tian watched this unfold without any worry, confident in the power of his attack.

This was no mere stream of water that could stop it. The halo continued forward, and with a "peng" sound, an explosion occurred. The halo detonated, engulfing the giant whale's entire body in the blast. Such a massive body could not escape the damage from such an energetic reaction. Chen Tian watched the center of the explosion, sensing the opponent's aura.

His face contorted in shock as he exclaimed, "Impossible, it can still do that? Didn't that guy completely lose consciousness?"

Chen Tian's mind was filled with question marks. This situation was impossible.

Xie Yuan's figure slowly emerged from the center of the explosion, a sneer on his face. "Kid, you still have energy?"

"You, you did it on purpose, you were acting for me."

"Kid, not bad, you finally figured it out. It's not too late. I was just waiting for this moment. Everything is under my control. Die!"

Xie Yuan strode forward and appeared before Chen Tian. His claw pierced Chen Tian's body. With a "噗嗤" sound, the claw emerged from Chen Tian's back. As the claw was withdrawn, a gaping hole appeared in Chen Tian's body, and he slowly fell into the void below.

"Am I going to die? Experiencing true death for the first time, but I just became an independent entity, and I haven't enjoyed true freedom yet. I am unwilling!"

Chen Tian's eyes slowly closed, his cold body falling somewhere unknown.
