Chapter 830 Can You Speed Things Up Over There

Chen Tian easily dodged the man's attacks, his combat experience far surpassing the man's. Chen Tian’s experience was forged through countless battles, even augmented by memories from three lifetimes. As the man attacked, Chen Tian weaved left and right, each near-miss unleashing a powerful effect, much to the man's frustration. Why wasn't Chen Tian fighting him directly? The man fell into thought. Seeing him lost in contemplation, Chen Tian struck, his palm shooting out. Just as it was about to reach the man, the man's claws extended. Palm met claw with a deafening roar!

A wave of energy erupted. Chen Tian was pushed back three steps, while the man staggered back five. This was despite Chen Tian being affected by the man’s defense-ignoring ability. The man's claws did, in fact, inflict damage on Chen Tian, causing him to lose health. Fortunately, it was just a casual clash; the power wasn't at its peak. Had the man attacked with full force from the start, Chen Tian would have likely lost half his health. Chen Tian and the man met eyes.

Chen Tian couldn't allow the man to fall into contemplation. It was too obvious. Once the man figured out his objective, all his efforts would be in vain. If this boss broke free from Chen Tian to kill Sen Sha, Chen Tian, no matter how skilled, wouldn't be able to defeat the boss unless he used game privileges to alter its settings. But that would be no different from cheating, something Chen Tian disdained. Playing games should be about challenge. Chen Tian’s figure split into seven or eight identical projections, each an exact replica, both本体 and分身.

Chen Tian was buying time, but he couldn't just defend passively. He needed to attack proactively to prevent the boss from noticing Sen Sha. Everything depended on Sen Sha. Meanwhile, Sen Sha faced an army of skeletons, thousands strong. No matter how fast Sen Sha was, he couldn't defeat them all at once. Sen Sha didn't falter. He swung his long saber, unleashing a massive blade that pierced the center of the horde, creating a spectacular effect.

It looked as if a canyon had been split in two by a single strike. This attack eliminated hundreds of skeletons, but their numbers remained overwhelming. Encased in armor, Sen Sha charged into the army, moving at full speed. His figure was a blur, only the sound of exploding skeletons audible, his form invisible. Sen Sha's speed was at its absolute limit. When he reappeared, his face was pale, his legs trembling uncontrollably.

Sen Sha collapsed to the ground, exhausted. His time was up; he needed to rest. He had just used a speed-enhancing technique he had invented himself. However, its cost was immense. Although it increased his speed tenfold by compressing time, his body couldn't keep up. Weak legs were the least of it; the most severe consequence could be internal bleeding, with his health steadily dropping.

*Ding ding ding!*

A sound came from the screen. Sen Sha saw it was a call from Chen Tian and accepted. Chen Tian's voice crackled through, "Sen Sha, can you speed things up over there?"

"Chen Tian, hold on for a bit longer. I'm almost there, almost there."

"Hurry up! I can't hold this guy off."

Chen Tian hung up decisively. His situation was also dire. Chen Tian couldn't match the boss head-on, even with his abilities. Sen Sha ended the call, then navigated the game interface. He swallowed various potions from his inventory, hoping this mission would at least recoup his losses.

After drinking the potions, Sen Sha moved toward the center of the cave. The area was still packed with skeletons, but this time, there was a leader among them. It seemed the further he went, the harder it became. Sen Sha vanished from his spot. When he reappeared, the horde exploded. The leading skeleton general regarded Sen Sha. Sen Sha had intentionally spared the skeleton soldier leader, as its level was similar to his, and its stats were even higher.

Sen Sha chose to eliminate the grunts first before dealing with the general. On Chen Tian's side, he had just ended the call and was constantly dodging. His surroundings were filled with black feather-like floating cannons. Who knew this guy's wings were covered in such weapons? Did the designer of this creature have any sense of realism?

Tens of millions of floating cannons sealed Chen Tian in, but he continued his extreme evasion. The light cannon attacks from the floating cannons were all dodged. Previously, Chen Tian had used his clones to disrupt the boss's actions, but the boss grew impatient and unleashed its floating cannon ability.

The boss's wings were mechanically constructed. Chen Tian couldn't fathom how floating cannons could be miniaturized into such small feathers. It was utterly illogical!

"How can this kid dodge so well?"

The man was astounded by Chen Tian's ability to evade his light cannon attacks. Despite the drastically reduced space, Chen Tian's evasion remained unaffected. What kind of skill did it take to achieve this? The man willed it, and all the floating cannons fired simultaneously, unleashing a barrage of light cannons at Chen Tian. Chen Tian was doomed. Faced with an area-of-effect attack, his evasion options were limited, and he couldn't even dodge. All the floating cannons firing at once left no room to maneuver.

With no space to move, how could Chen Tian dodge? He had no choice but to endure it. Fortunately, the man's defense-ignoring ability only applied to his claws; otherwise, these floating cannons alone would have been his end. His entire body was covered in energy. Armor appeared, and shields of ice and fire intertwined with divine beings.

The light cannons struck Chen Tian's body, causing repeated explosions. White mushroom clouds rose, indicative of the attack's immense power.

Yet, Chen Tian emerged from the explosion unscathed. Only his armor was left in tatters. Even with the combined assault of all the floating cannons, he had barely held on, his defenses almost breached. Thankfully, Chen Tian's defense was robust. The man instantly appeared before Chen Tian and, while Chen Tian was still emerging from the explosion, struck. His claws descended. Chen Tian had long predicted this scenario. As the claws landed, Chen Tian's body was torn to shreds by them.

The man's face showed no joy. It was an afterimage. Chen Tian's figure had already appeared on the other side of the explosion. This guy had just tricked him with an afterimage.

Chen Tian spun his legs, a gale howling. A tornado condensed within his legs. A green vortex swept out, and the wind element was unleashed by Chen Tian. His arms swung repeatedly, unleashing a divine ice blade from his left hand and fiery sword energy from his right. The three attacks converged at a single point.

The tornado absorbed the ice and fire, forming a purplish-blue vortex within which divine ice and divine fire mingled. This power surpassed ordinary elemental forces.

Chen Tian's energy control was his own intrinsic power. Any energy could be mastered by Chen Tian, even if it was fused. Others might hesitate, but Chen Tian wouldn't.

The tornado surged forward. The man's mouth opened, and as it did, a black point of light blossomed at its center.
