Chen Tian looked at the world before him. This was definitely not like the previous few layers, as the energy here was incredibly dense, far beyond what the earlier layers possessed. He immediately opened his map and glanced at it. "So this is the thirteenth layer, the Starfall World!" he murmured.
Chen Tian instantly understood. Looking at the city before him, he brought up his character panel. Since his physical body had entered the game world, the interface displayed his game character's panel. However, he needed to conceal his level. To enter the thirteenth layer, players were required to reach Level 90 White Blaze. Chen Tian fabricated a Level 90 character panel.
With the ability to "Deceive the Heavens and Cross the Sea," Chen Tian could create any false information. This skill was quite practical, at least preventing him from encountering too much trouble. He then proceeded towards the city, intending to understand the situation within. He needed to know where he was in the Starfall World, and more importantly, he had to hunt down Qing Feng Miao. That individual could not be allowed to escape, or a great calamity would befall this game world.
As Chen Tian took a step, he instantly appeared outside the city gates. He was momentarily stunned, then exclaimed, "So my physical body entering the game means my strength isn't limited!"
He then proceeded to mask his attributes. If his strength was unaffected, there was no need for fake attributes. He walked towards the city gate, which was named Xing Feng City. As he entered, a beam of light scanned his body, and then he was allowed in.
That light was for verifying his identity. In the game "Epoch of Time," entering any city required a scan. Registered player information would be recorded by the system, and only correct core information would grant entry. Chen Tian had no idea why such an extreme measure was implemented, as his contract with the game designers didn't specify such requirements.
Chen Tian's contract details had been fully restored. He walked through the city, observing the surrounding players. They were all equipped with high-grade, full sets of White Star-grade equipment, while he was still using gold-quality gear. Chen Tian immediately headed to the nearest shop, intending to purchase some equipment.
He arrived at a store called "Dragon's Tear Shop," where countless players were buying equipment.
"Are all the equipment here so expensive? They're several thousand more than the auction house prices!"
"Are these items worth this price? Look, if they were complete, I wouldn't say anything, but these are all incomplete."
The shop owner was a young player named Lie Yun, who was Level 99 White Blaze. Lie Yun retorted, "If you don't want to buy, you can go elsewhere. My prices are just this high!"
With that statement, a customer immediately left, muttering, "Rip-off artist!"
Lie Yun, the young player, said, "My items are all this expensive. If you think it's too much, go buy elsewhere. Do other shops have the same quality as mine?"
"This...!"
The other players looked at each other. Indeed, this shop was backed by a merchant guild, and the weapons here were the best available in any shop on the thirteenth layer. They might not be able to find such equipment elsewhere.
Lie Yun knew his words had swayed the players. He then stated, "If you want to buy, pay up! Cash on delivery!"
Reluctantly, they had to buy, no matter how expensive. On the thirteenth layer, even a slight difference in equipment could cost them their lives. They had to be fully armed. The higher the level of the world, the greater the danger, and the more Epoch Coins were needed. As the game's levels increased, enemies became more powerful. In the later stages, it wasn't just about a simple attribute advantage; equipment differences, skill disparities, and other factors would influence battles.
Consequently, the players slowly began to trade and purchase equipment. Lie Yun smiled slightly. Soon, he called out, "Next!"
Chen Tian slowly approached him. Lie Yun felt a sense of familiarity. He seemed to have seen this person somewhere before. He then asked, "What equipment do you want? What quality?"
"Dual blades, White Star-grade, and armor, also White Star-grade. I want complete equipment. If not, then at least ninety percent complete. Nothing too severely damaged."
Chen Tian pondered for a moment. Lie Yun was surprised. This young man was a big spender! No one had ever asked for complete weapons, or even ninety percent complete equipment, right off the bat. Lie Yun then said, "Yes, we have the 'Star Cloud Annihilation Blade' for dual blades, and the 'Star Annihilation Battle Armor.' Take a look at their stats! That will be three hundred billion Epoch Coins!"
Chen Tian was taken aback by the price. Three hundred billion Epoch Coins was quite expensive. Normally, even complete White Star-grade equipment wouldn't cost more than two hundred billion. This was a full hundred billion more! However, Chen Tian still looked at the stats. Perhaps the stats were exceptionally powerful, justifying the price.
Chen Tian looked at the interface, and the information instantly appeared before him.
Star Cloud Annihilation Blade
Quality: White Star-grade, 19 Stars
Damage: 10%
Attributes: Health +100 White Points, Speed +600 White Points, Constitution +300 White Points, Weapon Mastery +900 White Points, Skill Mastery +615 White Points.
Ability: Star Annihilation.
Trait: Star Power effect doubled.
Star Annihilation Battle Armor
Quality: White Star-grade, 18 Stars
Damage: 10%
Attributes: Health +960 White Points, Secondary Armor +1000 Points, Constitution +690 White Points, Health +651 White Points.
Ability: Star Light Defense.
Trait: Star Power effect doubled.
Chen Tian looked at the abilities and traits above and was delighted. These two pieces of equipment could form a set, and they shared the same trait, meaning their effects could stack. Chen Tian then said, "I'll take them! Here are three hundred billion Epoch Coins. Payment, and delivery!"
Lie Yun replied, "Certainly!"
Chen Tian then brought up his panel, and an inbox appeared. Money received, goods delivered. Chen Tian slowly left.
Meanwhile, Lie Yun smirked, "Only a fool would buy equipment with these abilities and traits. This guy is truly stupid. After all, there's no profession in this game that uses Star Power. Those weapons have been gathering dust in storage. Ah, finally sold!"
"But I feel like I've seen this kid somewhere before! Where was it? It seems recent. Wait, I remember now! That wanted poster."
Lie Yun took out a painting from his cabinet. It was an exact likeness. Lie Yun's eyes darted around. He then looked at the customers outside and said, "That's all for today! Disperse, disperse! I'm closing shop! Closing shop!"
"Boss, you're not being fair! You make a fortune and then stop selling. What kind of person are you!"
"Hmm!"
"No, I didn't say anything!"
The players slowly left the shop. Lie Yun's figure then disappeared from within. Chen Tian was unaware of the spectacular predicament he would soon face, but even if he knew, he wouldn't care, given his strength.
Chen Tian walked through the city and brought up his interface. He then said, "The Hundred Changes Orb is still too low-level, it needs to be upgraded. I can use the weapon enhancement cards I dropped earlier. After all, the higher the level of the Hundred Changes Orb, the more weapons I can use!"
He then inserted all the weapon enhancement cards, over a dozen of them, into the Hundred Changes Orb. An interface popped up, stating, "Congratulations, player! The Hundred Changes Orb has been upgraded to Level Seven Blaze."
Before Chen Tian could react, another interface popped up, stating, "Congratulations, player! The Hundred Changes Orb has awakened a new attribute: Trait Doubled."
"Ding! Congratulations, player! Hundred Changes Orb permissions unlocked, level restriction removed."
Chen Tian was stunned. He looked at the panel before him, confused. He then clicked on "Trait Doubled" and understood. The Hundred Changes Orb would duplicate weapons that possessed traits, and the effect of those traits would be doubled. Furthermore, weapons of quality below Seven Blaze could be used without level restrictions. This meant Chen Tian, currently Level 70, could now use these two Level 19 White Star-grade equipment.
