Chapter 44 Scheming the Primordial Green Lotus

"The True Body? Descending to the myriad realms in person, where is your spokesperson? Why are they not here?"

Mu Changqing smiled and, instead of answering, asked a question.

Qinglian's pupils contracted slightly, showing a hint of apprehension towards Mu Changqing.

When her avatar was erased by Mu Changqing back then, she was filled with rage and swore to make him pay.

However, after the great battle a hundred years ago, when the Lord of Darkness was nearly utterly destroyed,

she lost her desire for revenge.

After all, Mu Changqing's strength was too terrifying. Facing the four innate beings, he was merely cast into the chaotic dark currents.

In just a hundred years, he had broken free and returned. Who wouldn't be wary?

"You wish to set your sights on my spokesperson? Burial Emperor, you destroyed my avatar, and I haven't settled that score with you yet. Don't push your luck."

Qinglian let out a cold snort, her pure, cold countenance showing signs of anger.

But anger aside, even with her true body present, she dared not engage Mu Changqing.

"What exactly do you want?"

A moment later, Qinglian calmed herself and looked coldly at Mu Changqing again.

Then, she looked with slight surprise at the child beside Mu Changqing.

Her senses revealed nothingness, an unknowable presence.

"What a bizarre existence."

Qinglian muttered to herself.

Mu Changqing saw this and paid it no mind.

If even he couldn't probe its existence, why would it care if others tried?

Then, Mu Changqing spoke calmly.

"Where are the Demon Ancestor and the Realm Spirit?"

Upon hearing this, Qinglian's pupils constricted sharply, instantly understanding Mu Changqing's intentions.

After a moment of contemplation, the woman in green lotus said,

"Burial Emperor, you cannot act recklessly anymore. A hundred years ago, the Lord of Darkness was almost buried by your hands. You should know that your actions have already made many innate beings wary. If you continue, you will face the joint suppression of the innate beings."

She was not concerned for Mu Changqing's safety, but rather did not want the ultimate confrontation to begin prematurely.

If that were to happen, all her plans would come to naught.

Mu Changqing scoffed, unmoved, and continued to speak indifferently, though the aura around him grew increasingly cold and bleak.

The vast expanse of sky dimmed, as a wisp of purple light cast an unsettling glow.

"Say it again. Where are they? Do not test my patience further, or you will bear my karma in their stead."

Qinglian's heart filled with dread, her delicate face shifting.

She gazed up at the sky, streaks of purple light illuminating the expanse, cutting off her retreat.

The surrounding space twisted, filled with a strange power.

"What do you want? Are you going to attack me?"

Qinglian was terrified now. Mu Changqing was simply a madman, a fearless madman, and one with terrifying strength.

No one knew how truly formidable he was, but his near-death blow to the Lord of Darkness was enough to make ninety percent of innate beings wary.

This time, Mu Changqing said nothing more. He gestured for Yin Yin to step back.

Then, he adjusted his black robes and approached step by step.

Wisps of purple Netherflame slowly rose from his violet eyes. Wherever he stepped, purple flames fell, corroding the chaotic earth.

With each step, Mu Changqing's aura grew more violent and terrifying.

His killing intent became tangible, triggering the ominous and bizarre phenomena of the dying emperor and the bloody immortal realm sea.

"Stop, stop quickly, I'll tell you."

Qinglian cried out in terror. She hadn't expected to be so unlucky as to run into this madman, Mu Changqing.

Mu Changqing continued to approach. No matter how many supreme methods Qinglian used to evade him,

Mu Changqing's distance from her continued to shrink.

"Damn it, you utter lunatic."

"The Demon Ancestor is in the depths of the Primordial Chaos and has not come to the myriad realms. The Realm Spirit has come; he is in the forbidden zone of chaos. As for his specific location, I do not know either."

Qinglian's fear grew, and she quickly shouted.

Mu Changqing truly intended to kill her. To sacrifice herself for an irrelevant being would be foolish.

Therefore, she could only drag the Realm Spirit out to act as a shield.

Mu Changqing stopped, his aura ceasing to grow, and he spoke indifferently again.

"He is an innate being with supreme laws that block deduction. You have lured him out. It's not that you are not acquainted with him; as an innate being, you must have a way to contact him."

Qinglian's full bosom heaved with a mixture of fear and anger. Then, she gritted her teeth and said,

"Alright, but you cannot tell anyone that I am helping you."

If other innate beings were to find out, she would surely be ostracized, perhaps even attacked.

Mu Changqing chuckled and waved away all the strange phenomena.

He looked at the chaotic green lotus and gestured for her to continue.

Qinglian bit her pearly white teeth slightly and glared at Mu Changqing.

She knew that she had no other choice now.

Mu Changqing was a madman; he would not care about this game where all beings were pawns, nor would he care about innate beings and the Heavenly Dao.

Then, Qinglian closed her eyes slightly, her lips parting as chaotic energy emanated from her, enveloping the entire forbidden zone of chaos.

Before long, Qinglian opened her cold, clear eyes and looked at Mu Changqing indifferently.

"He is arriving soon. Be prepared. Do not let him escape, or both of us will be in trouble."

Mu Changqing adjusted his black robe, his dark hair falling messily over his shoulders, and said dismissively,

"Trouble? Do you think I fear any trouble?"

"Rather, if I were to intentionally let him escape, you would be in great trouble."

Upon hearing this, Qinglian felt as though her heart would explode.

Behind her, a colossal phantom of the chaotic green lotus flickered.

As a dignified innate being, when had she ever endured such an insult?

At that moment, she truly wanted to abandon all caution and fight Mu Changqing.

"What exactly do you want? The Realm Spirit is not as strong as that idiot Dao Ancestor. I have already lured him here for you. With your strength, keeping him here should be easy."

Qinglian calmed her raging emotions again, gritted her teeth, and said word by word.

Mu Changqing paced slowly back and forth, his expression serene. He unhurriedly approached Qinglian, leaned in, and whispered,

"While he is off guard, ambush him and injure him severely. Then I will make my move. With the three of us, killing him will be easy."

Upon hearing this, Qinglian laughed in anger, put some distance between them, and said,

"Three? Including the little girl beside you?"

"No, no, no. There's also the idiot you mentioned. What do you say, Dao Ancestor?"

As he spoke, Mu Changqing looked with a playful smirk towards the surrounding chaotic space.

Then, a slightly unsavory and disheveled figure emerged from the chaotic space.

The little fat boy beside the Dao Ancestor was nowhere to be seen, hidden by him.

The Dao Ancestor first gave Mu Changqing a fawning smile, then looked at Qinglian with righteous indignation, saying,

"When was I foolish? Chaotic Green Lotus, you slander my reputation like this, and I cannot agree to it."

Qinglian's anger flared. This old man had been hiding in the surrounding space, watching the entire time.

Then, an unprecedented chill coursed through her.

Everyone knew that the Dao Ancestor and Mu Changqing had always been together.

In their understanding, the two had become allies.

If Mu Changqing had attacked her earlier, the Dao Ancestor would surely have helped.

If that had truly happened, she would have been in grave danger.

"Heh heh, would you not be foolish to be deceived by the Heavenly Dao, to take the Three Thousand Great Daos, and become a Dao Ancestor in name only? Would you not be foolish to choose to ally with the Burial Emperor? Every step you take is a misstep, you idiot."

Qinglian feared Mu Changqing, but she did not fear the Dao Ancestor and immediately berated him.
