The Luo family resided in a luxurious villa complex named Yun Chao Tian Zhu.
With mountains at their back and water in front, Lin Fan couldn't help but marvel at the sight. This was a suburban area with excellent feng shui. During its development, it must have been surveyed by powerful feng shui masters. Everything one did here would prosper.
"How much does a villa here cost?" Lin Fan asked casually as he got out of the car.
Luo Qiqi, having fully recovered and showing no outward signs of distress, replied indifferently, "My grandfather mentioned it's around 800,000 yuan per square meter, including the yard. I'm not too sure of the exact price."
Lin Fan clicked his tongue, thinking that an ordinary person might not earn enough in a lifetime to afford even one square meter, let alone an entire villa.
The villa's main entrance opened to reveal an interior decorated in a subdued, mostly classical style.
"This is my grandfather's house. My father passed away early, so I live with my grandfather to take care of him," Luo Qiqi said, collapsing onto the sofa as soon as they stepped inside.
"Miss is back," said the housekeeper, an aunt in her forties. She seemed surprised to see Lin Fan but didn't pry, quickly fetching tea and water.
"Aunt Zhang, go buy some groceries. Make something delicious for dinner tonight," Luo Qiqi instructed.
"Yes, miss." Aunt Zhang wiped her hands. "Miss, is this your boyfriend? He's quite handsome."
"He's not!" Luo Qiqi retorted, annoyed. "Aunt Zhang, stop gossiping and hurry up. If you're late, you won't get fresh fish."
Aunt Zhang chuckled, removed her apron, and left with her shopping basket.
"How long has your housekeeper been working for you?" Lin Fan asked Luo Qiqi, standing by the door and waiting until Aunt Zhang was out of earshot.
"You mean Aunt Zhang? Almost a month. The previous housekeeper's husband fell seriously ill recently, so Aunt Zhang was recommended by her. She's a wonderful person, cooks well, and cleans thoroughly. My grandfather and I are very pleased with her," Luo Qiqi said with a satisfied smile.
Lin Fan's expression darkened as he remained silent, a cold smile playing on his lips. He could sense familiar dark energy emanating from Aunt Zhang.
A moment later, Luo Yuntian entered, followed by a family of three. The middle-aged man was Luo Wenshan, Luo Qiqi's second uncle. The middle-aged woman was his wife, Fang Juan. The young man, dressed flamboyantly and clearly a spoiled rich kid, was Luo Bin, their son.
"Why did you urgently summon us? Spit it out, don't waste my time partying with my friends," Luo Bin slurred as he flopped onto the sofa, resting his legs on the coffee table.
"Get your damn legs off there!" Luo Qiqi kicked him.
Luo Bin pouted, then his eyes lit up as he saw Lin Fan. "Luo Qiqi, you've got a wild taste now. You look down on my rich friends, but you're into this country bumpkin?"
Luo Qiqi gritted her teeth. "A dog's mouth only spews filth. You're the bumpkin! A gaudy, countryside bumpkin!"
"Bin'er, Qiqi is your cousin. Don't start fighting the moment you see her. Show her some deference," Luo Wenshan chided. Fang Juan's eyes glinted with malice, but she said nothing.
Luo Yuntian, seeing Lin Fan, exclaimed in pleasant surprise, "Doctor Lin, you're here!"
Lin Fan stood up and smiled. "I happened to run into Qiqi on the way and decided to come check on your recovery."
"It's excellent! Ever since I took the medicine you prescribed last time, I've fully recovered and feel better than ever," Luo Yuntian said, gripping Lin Fan's hand enthusiastically.
"Grandfather, is this the miracle doctor you've been raving about? He doesn't look like much. A charlatan swindler from the streets!" Luo Bin sneered. In his eyes, ordinary people without money were no different from stray cats and dogs.
Luo Yuntian's face immediately fell. However, before he could express his anger, Luo Wenshan quickly stepped forward, sternly reprimanding, "Bin'er, don't talk nonsense. Apologize at once!"
"I haven't said anything wrong, why should I apologize? A condition that even the top hospitals in the capital couldn't cure, this bumpkin fixed it just like that. Who would believe it?" Luo Bin retorted stubbornly.
"You..." Luo Wenshan was displeased but ultimately said nothing more. He scrutinized Lin Fan from head to toe.
Luo Bin grew bolder. He approached Lin Fan mockingly. "Bumpkin, I have a sore on my butt. If you're truly a miracle doctor, why don't you heal it for me while you're at it?"
Luo Qiqi was furious. "Luo Bin, are you insane? He's Grandfather's savior! Can you stop calling him a bumpkin?"
Luo Bin shrugged. "I just want to see if he's a real miracle doctor or a con artist. There are too many swindlers these days. What if he's after Grandfather's money?"
"Such malicious intent! Do you think everyone is like you?" Luo Qiqi, having lived this long, detested her cousin the most.
Luo Yuntian's face darkened considerably. "Luo Bin, if you dare to be rude again, I'll cut off all your allowances!"
Luo Bin relented slightly. "Doctor Lin, right? Well, can you treat my ailment?"
Lin Fan pondered for a moment, resting his chin on his hand. "To my knowledge, most men who develop sores on their buttocks do so due to homosexual tendencies. I wonder if Young Master Luo has such inclinations?"
Hearing this, Luo Qiqi almost spat out her milk tea. Her eyes widened as she stared at Luo Bin, then quickly moved several meters away from him. "Luo Bin, no wonder you've rejected daughters and granddaughters of so many influential families, and always hang out with your so-called close buddies. So that's why... tsk, tsk, tsk." Luo Qiqi exclaimed with undisguised disgust.
"Nonsense! Utter fabrication!" Luo Bin blustered.
Lin Fan chuckled. "Then how did that sore on your butt get there? Or perhaps it's fake?"
Luo Qiqi interjected, "Grandfather, if Luo Bin dares to lie about something so trivial, it's truly frightening. That five million yuan investment he asked you for a while back should also be investigated!"
Luo Bin's face turned pale. He had already squandered the five million yuan and planned to tell his grandfather a few days later that the investment had failed. If it were investigated now, he'd be in serious trouble.
"I just wanted to see if you truly had any skill. Why are you asking me how this sore got here? Just tell me if you can treat it!" Luo Bin quickly changed the subject.
Lin Fan smiled and nodded. This guy didn't have any sore at all; he was just being unreasonable. However, Lin Fan didn't expose him.
"Yes, of course, I can treat it."
*Snap!*
Lin Fan took off his belt, split it into two strands, and pulled it gently, making a crisp sound. "Come on, lie down."
