Chapter 27 Saving the Teacher (Part 1)

After seeing Zheng Wan'er off, Lin Fan also returned home.

He was exhausted!

Lin Fan returned home and, without even eating, collapsed into sleep.

Xia Xue knew he had a lot to do that day and must be tired, so she didn't call him for dinner.

The next morning, before eight o'clock, Gu Dayong sent people to deliver the medical equipment.

It was all common medical equipment: reclining chairs, IV stands, stethoscopes, stretchers, and acupuncture needles, among others.

There were also some Chinese and Western medicines.

The quantities were not large, but enough for initial use.

Lin Fan had just woken up and hadn't even washed his face when Han Xiangxiang dragged him to her old house.

"Don't worry about the paperwork; it will be completed tomorrow. As for the plaque, I've already had someone make it, and it will be delivered tomorrow."

Han Xiangxiang sat on the sofa, looked up at Lin Fan, smiled, and continued, "Opening a clinic has been a headache for me for two years. Not only were many villagers complaining, but the higher-ups also had this requirement."

Lin Fan looked around and replied without turning back, "Don't worry, Sister Xiangxiang. My medical skills are decent; I won't let you down."

With Xia Xue by her side, Han Xiangxiang couldn't say anything flirtatious, so she gave Lin Fan a few instructions and left.

"Sister-in-law, the plaque and paperwork will be delivered tomorrow."

Lin Fan tugged at his sister-in-law's arm. "I want to open today."

Xia Xue sniffed and frowned. "Xiao Fan, let's leave it for a few days first. This house hasn't been lived in for a long time; let's air out the dampness."

Dampness is harmful to human health, and Xia Xue was concerned about it.

"No need. The weather is so hot; just open the doors and windows. The dampness will dissipate in an afternoon."

As he spoke, Lin Fan was already envisioning his fame spreading, his small clinic filled with patients seeking treatment, and making a fortune.

Seeing Lin Fan's impatience, Xia Xue reluctantly nodded, indicating her lack of objection.

Thus, the two began to get busy.

By noon, at half-past twelve, the clinic officially opened.

For the festive occasion, Lin Fan changed into a suit, a gift from Han Xiangxiang, which made him look particularly spirited.

The villagers of Luofeng Village who had nothing to do gathered at the clinic entrance, curiously observing the newly opened establishment.

The crackling sound of firecrackers filled the air, scattering red confetti across the ground.

"Villagers, it's me, Xiao Fan!"

Lin Fan cleared his throat and, with a beaming face, spun a tale. "You might not know this, but my great-great-grandfather was a barefoot doctor."

"His medical skills, in his time, were comparable to Hua Tuo's or Bian Que's reborn!"

"Although I am not as talented, I have studied the family's ancestral medical books since childhood and have achieved some success, inheriting a portion of my ancestors' true teachings."

"From now on, if you have a headache, a cold, or any difficult illnesses, feel free to come to me!"

An elderly man immediately clapped his hands and exclaimed, "Good, good, good!"

"Xiao Fan, now that you've opened this clinic, it will be more convenient for everyone to see a doctor and buy medicine."

"Yes, although Xiao Fan is a bit young, he's a great person. I watched him grow up, so what he says is definitely true!"

"Grandma, I want to eat meat," a little girl with pigtails tugged at the corner of the old woman next to her and suddenly said.

Meanwhile, the previously empty courtyard was now filled with tables and chairs. Xia Xue and Aunt Li were busy cooking with a chef who usually handled banquets and funerals in the village.

"Dinner is ready, everyone! Make sure you eat well today!"

Lin Fan called out and entered the courtyard first.

From this moment on, Lin Fan felt like an adult.

He was no longer a child who needed his sister-in-law's care.

However.

Three days passed, and Lin Fan found that the situation was not what he had imagined.

In three days since the clinic opened, his income was only five yuan.

It seemed that after eating, the villagers forgot that there was a clinic in the village.

Only Aunt Li came to buy a dose of medicine for her sore throat.

"Alas, this won't do!"

Lin Fan, whose career had just begun, felt like he had been doused with a bucket of cold water.

He knew he was young and had been bedridden for a year, so no one in the village believed in his medical skills.

"I refuse to believe it! As long as I'm given a chance, I will definitely surprise you all..."

Lin Fan muttered indignantly, sitting in the creaking master chair.

"Xiao Fan!"

"Xiao Fan!"

Han Xiangxiang called out twice and then rushed into the clinic.

"What is it?"

Lin Fan's eyes lit up. Could this be a big job?

"Quick, quick, come with me!"

Han Xiangxiang was out of breath and said urgently, "When I went to school just now, Teacher Jianghu collapsed right in front of me!"

"Teacher Jianghu?" A graceful young woman with long flowing hair and a gentle smile flashed in Lin Fan's mind.

She was a volunteer teacher sent by the city, and over a thousand children in the surrounding villages depended on her!

Han Xiangxiang was extremely anxious, as if her own house were on fire. "Her face was as pale as paper, and she was trembling uncontrollably."

"Oh, heavens, please don't let anything happen to her!"

As Han Xiangxiang spoke, Lin Fan had already grabbed his medical kit.

"Let's go, take me there."

Lin Fan finished speaking and pulled Han Xiangxiang to leave.

However, Han Xiangxiang had cycled a long distance and was wearing a tight skirt and high heels, so she couldn't keep up once they were outside.

"Xiao Fan, you go ahead."

Han Xiangxiang stopped, coughed a couple of times, and urged him, "The bicycle is outside; ride it and hurry!"

Lin Fan nodded, but instead of riding the bicycle, he ran towards the main road with all his might.

Hope Primary School was at least three kilometers away from the clinic.

But Lin Fan couldn't worry about that anymore.

He could only channel the purple energy to his legs, his movements appearing like illusions, wind under his feet, as he sprinted.

In less than two minutes, he reached the destination.

Fortunately, his speed was fast enough that even if villagers saw him, they couldn't make out what was happening; they only felt a gust of wind.

At the entrance of Hope Primary School.

A large circle of teachers and students had gathered.

The male teachers were shouting to maintain order.

The female teachers were comforting the students.

But the students were still crying, shouting Teacher Jianghu's name, Jianghu Xue!

"Get out of the way, I'm a doctor!"

Lin Fan, having retracted his divine abilities not far away, immediately rushed into the crowd.

"I'm a doctor!"

Hearing Lin Fan's shout, the students stopped crying and obediently made a path.

In the center of the crowd.

A young woman, wearing a beige short-sleeved shirt and a light blue long skirt, lay on the scorching ground.

It was Jianghu Xue.

Jianghu Xue's eyes were closed, her lips were tinged blue, her hands were clenched tightly, and her expression showed extreme pain.

"The doctor is here, don't panic, everyone!"

Lin Fan strode to Jianghu Xue's side, then put down his medical kit and activated his Purple Spirit Eyes.

But at that moment, someone pulled him from behind: "Hey, which hospital are you from?"
