Su Yurou draped a blanket over herself and walked back to the living room, sitting on the sofa. "It's getting cold, I'm freezing. I need to warm up," she said.
Wang Ying smiled and sat on the sofa too.
Lin Fan felt fine. He stretched his limbs, not feeling the chill.
"Xiao Fan, why are you just standing there?"
Su Yurou patted the spot between them, gesturing for Lin Fan to sit down.
"I..."
Lin Fan looked at the two beautiful women, swallowed hard, and said, "I'm not cold."
"Oh, you don't even want to sit with us!"
Su Yurou pouted playfully.
"My dear, the blanket is all warm. Come here quickly!"
Wang Ying, with a delicate flick of her wrist, called out in a sweet voice.
After she said it, she couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Su Yurou joined in, giggling and laughing heartily with her.
Lin Fan ignored them, remaining standing in place, letting them tease him for a long time.
Wang Ying, still chuckling, lifted the blanket. "I'm going to make us something to eat. I'm hungry."
She looked at Lin Fan and added, "Xiao Fan, you can sit down now. Don't just stand there."
Seeing that Lin Fan wasn't moving, she stepped forward, took his arm, and pulled him over.
Perhaps emboldened by the drinks, she dared to call Lin Fan by his nickname.
Or maybe, having heard Su Yurou call him that, she decided to follow suit.
"You don't need to be so formal at my place. If I didn't call you, would you just stand there forever?"
Wang Ying pushed Lin Fan from behind, directly onto the sofa.
"Yurou, it's up to you now. Take good care of Xiao Fan!"
Wang Ying gave Su Yurou a teasing look.
Su Yurou nodded vigorously. "Sister Wang Ying, you can count on me!"
She winked at Lin Fan, then pulled up the blanket. "Xiao Fan, come on, get into my warm spot."
"Hahaha..."
Wang Ying laughed as she tucked Lin Fan in.
"I'm going to cook now. I'll warn you, my cooking isn't great. I only know a few simple dishes."
Wang Ying preemptively managed expectations, implying that if it wasn't tasty, he shouldn't make fun of her later.
"As long as it fills us up, that's fine," Su Yurou said casually, as if taste wasn't a major concern.
After Wang Ying went into the kitchen, Lin Fan turned to Su Yurou and asked, "What's gotten into you two today? You're acting so wild."
"What do you know? Can't we just have some fun?"
Su Yurou turned on the TV and found a youth idol drama: "I Love You So Much, But You Still Hold Someone Else's Hand and Stroll in the Park, I'll Punch You to Death!"
Lin Fan couldn't understand their thoughts at all and didn't expect to.
He sat idly on the sofa, occasionally glancing at the utterly boring youth idol drama.
Wang Ying was busy in the kitchen for over half an hour.
Although she claimed to only know a few simple dishes, she wouldn't skimp when guests were over, especially a guest like Lin Fan. She wanted to make it a lavish meal.
Lin Fan waited for a long time, and with the youth idol drama being so dull, he got up and said, "I'll go see if dinner is ready."
Su Yurou watched his retreating back, a thoughtful look in her beautiful eyes, pondering something.
"Sister Wang Ying, is there anything I can help with?"
Lin Fan walked through the dining room and into the kitchen.
Wang Ying, wearing a cute cartoon apron, was chopping onions, her eyes watering.
The delicate ties of the apron cinched her slender waist, creating a perfect silhouette from above.
Her form-fitting denim shorts perfectly accentuated her curves.
For convenience, Wang Ying tucked her hair behind her ears, giving her a graceful demeanor.
Lin Fan was momentarily lost in thought.
He couldn't help but let his imagination wander, picturing himself as Wang Ying's husband, coming home to find his beautiful and gentle wife busy cooking for him and their children.
A sense of happiness and warmth filled his chest.
"Why did you come in here?"
Wang Ying wiped her eyes with her sleeve and said, "Then help me carry out the dishes that are ready."
"Okay."
Lin Fan nodded, instantly dismissing his wandering thoughts.
He had just imagined Wang Ying as his sister-in-law.
Thus, they worked together, and in less than twenty minutes, fragrant dishes were laid out on the table.
"Sister Wang Ying, you didn't need to make so much," Lin Fan said, quickly wiping his mouth.
It was clear he was being disingenuous and was already hungry.
"It's not often we have guests," Wang Ying said.
She glanced at Su Yurou and urged, "Yurou, come eat."
She then turned and added, "I'll go get the wine."
"Huh?" Lin Fan was surprised. "We're drinking again?"
"We're celebrating!"
Wang Ying smiled back, exuding an indescribable charm.
Lin Fan truly didn't understand what she was celebrating.
Was it just because it was raining?
Or because the three of them were together?
Su Yurou shuffled in wearing slippers, exuding a lazy aura. She said with surprise, "Sister Wang Ying, you've really put in a lot of effort!"
Her face flushed, and she playfully teased, "Making sure Xiao Fan is full so he has the energy, right?"
"Don't be silly. Eat your food. If Xiao Fan has energy, he'll come to you first anyway," Wang Ying replied. Even though she was married, she felt a bit shy making such jokes in front of Lin Fan.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. After eating your food, of course, he'll come to you first..."
As Su Yurou was saying this, Wang Ying interrupted, "Go get the cups. Have some sense."
Wang Ying had a feeling that Su Yurou's joke was going too far, perhaps with a hidden meaning.
Soon, the three of them were seated around the dining table.
Outside, the rain poured down; inside, a calm atmosphere prevailed.
Both Wang Ying and Su Yurou were mature women, each with her own unique charm.
Lin Fan felt a surge of contentment.
Wang Ying brought out the red wine and poured a glass for each of them.
"First toast, to heaven and earth."
Wang Ying was still a bit tipsy, but now she was about to drink more, which confused Lin Fan. "Sister Wang Ying, there are three of us, two women and one man. Toasting heaven and earth doesn't seem appropriate."
"You talk too much!"
"Yeah, you're ruining the mood!"
Two delicate arms reached out from his left and right, one hitting him lightly, the other pinching him.
Wang Ying said indignantly, "That won't do! Xiao Fan, you have to drink three glasses as a penalty!"
Lin Fan blinked and said with a wry smile, "Alright, three glasses it is."
After he said that, he downed the wine in his glass in gulps.
"That's more like it!"
Wang Ying smiled and poured him another full glass.
After a few rounds of drinks and food,
Amidst the clinking of glasses, Lin Fan lost count of how many cups he had drunk.
Three empty wine bottles lay nearby, and the fourth was nearly finished.
"Here's to our fleeting youth!"
Wang Ying raised her glass, her face flushed.
She looked as if she intended to drink until she dropped.
Seeing this, Lin Fan immediately advised, "Sister Wang Ying, you shouldn't drink anymore."
