Man-eating monsters

Chapter 44 The Charm of Pokémon

Ye Feng truly did not expect the fishing rod to have such a story.

"Heh, those Magikarp are truly interesting Pokémon."

"Before evolution, anyone can bully a Magikarp."

"After evolving, it's like a carp leaping over the dragon gate, and still, anyone can bully it."

The shopkeeper chuckled.

"This is the charm of Pokémon!!!"

"I heard there's a Pokémon in the Hoenn region similar to Magikarp, called, what was its name again?"

The shopkeeper couldn't recall for a moment.

"Feebas, it evolves into Milotic," Ye Feng replied.

Ye Feng was most familiar with Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn.

And among these three, Hoenn was the one he knew best.

The reason was because of games like Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby, and so on, all set against the backdrop of Hoenn.

Ye Feng knew Hoenn like the back of his hand.

"Right, right, right."

Reminded by Ye Feng, the shopkeeper suddenly remembered.

He said,

"You say Feebas looks so plain, but its evolution, Milotic, is so beautiful. Honestly, it's a shame it's a fish. If it were a humanoid Pokémon, heh heh heh."

The shopkeeper drooled somewhat lewdly.

The conversation was taking a strange turn.

Forbidden love between humans and Pokémon.

However, Ye Feng had indeed considered this.

And the Pokémon most suited for this purpose, besides Gardevoir, who else could it be?

After buying his fishing gear, Ye Feng left the tackle shop.

He found a spot in a very large river near Pallet Town.

It was a big lake.

There were other people fishing nearby, but they were all quite far apart.

Ye Feng set up a large parasol there.

To shield himself from the scorching sun overhead.

Then, he began his fishing journey.

Fishing is a very relaxing sport.

Many are addicted to it, and once they are, it's like gaming or indulging in women, utterly inescapable.

Ye Feng attached high-grade bait to his Magikarp Rod and cast his line.

He waited quietly for his prey to bite.

He wasn't a novice; even before his transmigration, he had gone fishing with friends a few times.

Pikachu stayed by his side.

Standing quietly, it watched Ye Feng, completely clueless as to why he was fishing here.

Before long.

The float bobbed violently, the hook tugging downwards intermittently.

Fishing also requires technique.

Normally, one would not reel in the fish immediately, allowing it to thrash and expend its energy, before winding the line and pulling it in.

But Ye Feng had no such need.

Even if a Gyarados were to challenge him in a strength contest, he would not fear it.

This time, what he reeled in was an ordinary fish.

Ye Feng pulled it onto the green grass.

The fish, out of water, thrashed about on the grass with great vitality.

Just as Pikachu was about to snap it up, Ye Feng stopped it.

Ye Feng took out a Poké Ball and summoned his second Pokémon, a Caterpie.

As soon as Caterpie appeared, it had a very bad feeling.

Indeed, when it saw Ye Feng point to the fish on the ground.

It shook its head fearfully.

A cold smile crept onto Ye Feng's lips:

"I gave you a chance before, and you didn't take it. I'm giving you another chance now, and if you still can't do it, do you really think I have a good temper?"

In his life, Ye Feng had always had the best temper with women, especially pretty ones.

Caterpie clearly did not fall into that category.

"Either eat it, or die."

Ye Feng patted Pikachu.

Pikachu glared menacingly at Caterpie.

Caterpie began to cry.

This master and subordinate duo were devils.

They still wouldn't give up on making it eat meat.

It truly didn't want to eat!

But looking at Ye Feng, it knew he wouldn't give it another chance this time.

It was filled with terror.

It even considered just dying!

It wouldn't be a big deal!

Didn't many of its kind get eaten by Pidgey?

Death was heavier than Mount Tai, or lighter than a feather.

Just as it was contemplating this, a sharp stinging pain suddenly came from its rear.

Pikachu had used one of its fingers to poke its tail.

It even flashed a chilling smile at Caterpie.

And the sensation of pain grew increasingly intense and stimulating.

'Don't worry, I'll eat you bit by bit,'

Pikachu smiled.

'Your body, your organs, are all delicious!'

Pikachu continued to smile.

Caterpie's psychological defenses finally crumbled under Pikachu's eerie smile.

It quickly crawled forward.

And bit down on the fish on the ground.

Because the <・)))><< kept wriggling.

It used its String Shot move to trap the fish.

Rendering it immobile, but then another problem arose.

Why are grass-eating Pokémon called grass-eating Pokémon?

It's because of their physical structure.

Its mouth is very small, and its structure is only suitable for eating grass and leaves.

Meat is hard to bite and chew.

"Hurry!!!"

Under Pikachu's urging from behind.

Even though it couldn't bite through, Caterpie gnawed at the fish, bite by bite.

Trying again and again.

Finally, a glimmer of hope appeared.

The fish started bleeding from its bites.

Ye Feng was very pleased with Caterpie's progress.

He said, "Take your time, there's no rush."

Ye Feng was, after all, a Pokémon Trainer.

Although he could win every battle with just Pikachu,

He himself would get bored if Pikachu was always sent out.

So, now that he had time, he might as well train this Caterpie slowly.

There were still two months until the Indigo League anyway.

After a day of fishing,

They only caught three fish.

Caterpie spent the entire day eating before it finally finished that one fish.

Pikachu ate one.

As for the remaining fish, Ye Feng took it home to make soup.

Upon returning home.

Ash and the others were not there.

Only Delia was home. Delia was very happy to see Ye Feng.

The two embraced and began preparing dinner, a scene of immense warmth.

And just as dinner was almost ready, Ash and the others returned.

"Come quickly, have some fish soup," Delia called out.

Ash and the two companions drank the fish soup, finding it very savory.

As dinner was drawing to a close, Ye Feng took Delia's hand and led her upstairs again.

"Mom, are you going to play cards with Brother Ye Feng again?"

Ash asked, holding a bowl of pale yellow fish soup, his face filled with innocent curiosity.

"Uh, yes."

Delia was a little embarrassed and shy. Ye Feng was unfazed.

The two quickly disappeared up the stairs, and with a thud, the door closed.

"Are cards that fun?"

Ash wondered.

Brock and Misty, sitting at the same dinner table, exchanged glances, their faces filled with wry smiles and awkwardness.

The next morning.

Ash, Brock, and Misty had already left for somewhere unknown.

Ye Feng and Delia had played cards all night. Instead of being tired, they were both full of energy.

To enhance the fun of their card games,

Ye Feng took Delia to a shop.
