Chapter 53 Song Ni Did Not Seem Like Someone Who Had Been Kidnapped
The man's approach route was too obvious. Song Ni easily dodged his attack by shifting to the side, even managing to tie the belt of her windbreaker into a knot behind her back. Her movements were large when she fought, and anything too long would restrict her. The man's eyes split with rage. He picked up a knife and waved it wildly in the air. "You'll die a horrible death! It's all your fault! You ruined our lives!" he roared, lunging at Song Ni.
Song Ni's brow furrowed, she didn't quite understand what the man meant. What did he mean she had ruined his life? This man had clearly lost his mind, his eyes filled with a red anger and a muddled confusion. It wasn't difficult for Song Ni to dodge his attack. She effortlessly lifted her leg and kicked the wrist of the hand holding the knife. While the man was in pain, she quickly stepped forward, seized his arm, and forced it behind his back.
"Who exactly are you?" The man's face contorted in pain. He spat at Song Ni, but this time Song Ni reacted and dodged completely. She tightened her grip, her face showing clear disgust. "If you don't talk, you can be locked up for a few more days." The security in this residential area was good. With the man's previous shouting, someone would come soon.
Suddenly, the man Song Ni was holding looked up and smiled strangely. Song Ni's brow twitched, and she instinctively looked back. She saw a fast-approaching, blurry figure. Song Ni instinctively held her breath and raised her hand to counterattack, but the person was too fast. Something in their hand touched Song Ni. The cloth, which had completely soaked her nose, must have contained a potent dose of anesthetic. Even though Song Ni had reacted extremely quickly, only inhaling a little, her mind had already begun to cloud.
The force in her hands loosened. The man on the ground broke free. While Song Ni still had a sliver of consciousness, he brought his hand down like a blade on her neck. She completely lost consciousness. The man let out a few sinister laughs. "So what if you have fighting skills? Aren't you still captured by me obediently?"
Qin Yang, who had the call on speakerphone, had been paying attention to the sounds from Song Ni's end. When she heard no more of Song Ni's voice, she became completely panicked. By the time the two of them arrived, the residential area's security personnel and property management staff had already called the police and were reviewing the surveillance footage. Qin Yang's hands were trembling when she saw the monitor; it was Cheng Ling who stood beside her, supporting her so she didn't collapse.
"I think I've seen that person before," Qin Yang said, looking at the man's figure on the surveillance footage, trying hard to recall. But he only seemed familiar; she couldn't place him.
It wasn't until Song Jing arrived and saw the photo Song Ni had sent him on his phone. "I ran into him with Nini at the mall before. He was shoplifting, and we caught him red-handed." With that, Qin Yang immediately took out her phone and called Qin Dang. Song Jing, with a somber face, watched the surveillance footage without speaking. Those two men had clearly come prepared, knowing Song Ni was skilled in karate, which was why they had resorted to such despicable methods.
By the time Qin Dang arrived, Song Jing had already dispatched people to track the car, but they were caught in rush hour and couldn't find it. They could only rely on Qin Dang's friend at the traffic bureau to immediately track it using surveillance. "This man is Liu Sheng. He was detained for seven days last time for theft."
"What does he have to do with Song Ni?" Song Jing asked, appearing calm, but his voice was taut, and a dark aura hung around his eyes. Qin Yang's eyes flickered. "Could it be because Nini caught him?" Song Jing let out a cold snort, clearly not believing such a preposterous explanation. Merely for Song Ni helping to catch him, they would go to such lengths to track her and bring in an accomplice to use anesthetics. It clearly didn't add up.
"Liu Sheng has a girlfriend, who was an internet celebrity before. She was stealing bags for him last time."
"Before?" Song Jing frowned, keenly picking up on Qin Dang's phrasing. "It seems she offended someone a while ago and was banned." Song Jing's eyes darkened completely. He took out his phone and called Lu Fang, confirming that Liu Sheng's girlfriend was one of those banned for the incident at the bar fight involving Song Ni. Lu Fang's methods were ruthless; he usually drove people to desperation. No wonder they wanted revenge.
Upon hearing the news, Lu Fang immediately dropped what he was doing and rushed over, constantly calling Tan Zheng on the way.
...
Song Ni woke up in a spacious, dark room. The room had no windows, only a door for entry and exit. The lights were off inside, and the only light came from under the door to the adjacent room. Song Ni tried to raise her hand to rub her aching temples, only to find that her hands and feet were bound by something.
In that short time, Song Ni had already recalled everything. Her brow furrowed, she still couldn't understand what deep hatred she had for this person. The room was too dark for Song Ni to do anything, so she simply leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, slowly…
She felt a headache, like a cold, but there was no sign of her being kidnapped. About five minutes later, the door was pushed open, and the person inside turned on the room's light. Song Ni squeezed her eyes shut due to the sudden brightness. "Yo, awake?" Song Ni opened her eyes and looked at the man in front of her with a cold expression. There was no panic, no fear, just a plain, indifferent stare.
Liu Sheng snorted. "Let's see if you can still be this calm later." Song Ni twisted her hands behind her back. They were tied tightly. She tried to struggle a few times, but her wrists burned painfully, so she stopped. "What do you want? Money? Or…" Song Ni paused, her expression unchanging. "My life."
Liu Sheng couldn't stand Song Ni's composed, still haughty demeanor. She was kidnapped by him, yet she wasn't acting like it. She should be angry, she should be scared, she should be begging. So Liu Sheng stepped forward, raised his hand, and slapped her fiercely. *Pa—* The sound echoed throughout the room. Song Ni's head was snapped to the side by the slap, her face instantly swelling, a metallic taste in her mouth. But she made no sound.
Liu Sheng's eyes turned red, his anger intensifying. He raised his hand and slapped her again, so hard that his own palm hurt. Yet Song Ni still made no sound, even as her ears buzzed and blood trickled from her lips. "You have guts. I don't want your damn money. I want your dignity. I want you to wish you were dead, to live in pain forever."
"People like you, with power, don't care about being looked down upon. You can ruin someone with a word. Your hearts are black, your blood is cold." "People like you value face and reputation the most, right?" "I want to make you an object of universal scorn." Liu Sheng roared, his emotions agitated, his chest heaving. He took out the prepared camera, set it up facing Song Ni, and even shone a spotlight directly on her face.
"Look at the camera, won't you? You're so good at looking at the camera, aren't you?" "What do you think your fans will think when they see you like this?" Song Ni nudged her cheek with her tongue, swallowed the blood in her mouth, and looked up at Liu Sheng. She vaguely understood the grudge she had with this madman. Thinking this, Song Ni twitched the corner of her mouth and smiled. Calmly and arrogantly. "I have the power to ban you. How long do you think it will take them to find me?"
Brother Tan! Come back quickly! Your wife has been kidnapped!
