Chapter 25 I Ran into Tan Zheng at an American Hospital
Tan Zheng discovered the documents on the desk and flipped through them casually. He found that several forces were targeting Song Ni behind today's incident, and his brow furrowed. He had never dealt with such matters before, and it was unexpected that Song Ni would be targeted by so many people. However, the video leaking out was also partly his fault for not handling it thoroughly.
"What do you plan to do?" Song Ni had just finished a glass of milk. The rim of the cup was too large, and a bit of milk foam was smudged on the corner of her mouth. After Tan Zheng compromised, her mood had soared, and her temperament softened.
"Hmm? Lu Fang said he would help me ban them." Lu Fang: ...How did it become his idea? It was clearly Song Ni's own intention; he was just the executor. Lu Fang raised an eyebrow at Song Ni, seeing her wide-eyed and looking at him, blinking. Hiss—how much could his sister-in-law change? Lu Fang averted his gaze and looked at Tan Zheng, nodding.
"Those who don't know better need to be taught a lesson." Tan Zheng didn't find this decision inappropriate.
"What about your account then?" Song Ni raised her eyes and looked at Tan Zheng for a long while before confirming that he was concerned about her. She shrugged indifferently with a faint smile on her lips. "I was just doing it for fun." She didn't know how significant the impact of this incident would be, but it was a good opportunity for her to slack off.
Tan Zheng leaned back on the sofa, suddenly relaxed, crossing his right leg over his left. He exuded a languid air as he swirled his wine glass and turned his head to look at Song Ni indifferently. "That's your thing." Tan Zheng's words were not explicit, but Song Ni's eyes flickered. She put down the empty cup in her hand, rested her chin with her fingers, and thought for a moment. Although Tan Zheng hadn't said it clearly, Song Ni understood. Why should her thing be ruined because of others? Even if the account were to be destroyed, it would have to be by her own hand.
"Then I'll think about it for the next two days and post a video later." Tan Zheng noticed the milk foam at the corner of Song Ni's mouth, his gaze paused, and then he lowered his eyes, no longer looking at her. "You can let Haozi help." Lu Hao Ting's appearance at the bar tonight would be enough to pique everyone's curiosity just by appearing in her video. She wouldn't need to mention anything about the bar. Coincidentally, Lu Hao Ting wanted to learn some karate from her. However, such a thing would bring Lu Hao Ting no benefit, and he might even get into trouble because of her. Song Ni hesitated. Lu Fang had already made the decision for Lu Hao Ting.
"This kid always wants to be cool, and this fits his desire. However, sister-in-law, you might have to teach him more and make more videos, perhaps even a collection." Lu Fang, with a businessman's shrewdness, was using Lu Hao Ting to do Song Ni a favor, knowing there would be opportunities to leverage it later. With just a few light words from the two men, the issue of Song Ni's account was settled.
...
Five days later, with her injuries mostly healed, Song Ni finally returned home. As soon as she entered, she was met with a cold snort from her father. "My little rascal has grown up and grown wings, not even coming home!" Song Ni changed her shoes and stood still, looking at her father standing in the living room. He had clearly been expecting her, yet he had to pretend to be angry.
"Who are you calling a little rascal?" Song Ni's father glared at her. "Who else if not you?" Song Ni blinked and walked over to her father, linking her arm through his and resting her head on his shoulder. "Aren't I Daddy's little darling?" This single sentence successfully softened her father. He led her to the sofa and sat down.
"Ni Ni, are you blaming me? Blaming me for speaking too harshly on the phone that day, or blaming me for arranging a blind date for you behind your back?" Song Ni wrinkled her nose. "You spoke too harshly that day. It was the first time you've ever spoken to me like that since I was little, but I don't blame you anymore." Her father's heart melted completely. Song Jing, who had just gotten off work, happened to return home. Song Dad seized the opportunity to shift the blame. "It's all your fault, Brother. It was your idea to set you up with Tan Zheng for a blind date." Song Jing: ...
Song Ni looked up and raised an eyebrow at him. This wasn't the first or second time this had happened. As long as Song Ni acted cute, her father's eyes were only on his precious darling. Song Jing was accustomed to this and skillfully poured Song Ni a glass of milk. "I bought you an apartment a few days ago. Go take a look when you have time." In the past, Song Ni never paid attention when she heard this. She either lived at school or at home, so there was no need to look at those apartments. But things were different now. Song Ni held out her hand to Song Jing. "Where's the key?" Song Jing was a little surprised.
"I'll find it for you later." Her father frowned beside them. "Your brother bought you an apartment, just leave it. What do you need the key for? Are you planning to move there?" Song Ni shook her father's arm. "Dad~ I'm graduating soon, and I need to start my own career."
"Not going back to the company?" Song Ni shook her head. "I want to open a studio. Dad, please agree. If you agree, I'll completely stop being angry with you." Song Dad: ...
Song Jing glanced meaningfully at Song Ni. He knew his sister well. If she wanted to move out at this time, it wouldn't be purely because she wanted to open a studio. Of course, the family would eventually agree. Her father and mother were both spineless; as soon as Song Ni threw a tantrum, they would lose their resolve.
After dinner, Song Jing called Song Ni to the study. "How are you getting along with Tan Zheng?" Although Song Jing didn't interfere much in Song Ni's affairs, he had been secretly keeping an eye on her. He naturally knew about the online incident and was aware that Lu Fang had intervened, and Lu Fang had always had a good relationship with Tan Zheng.
Song Ni nestled into the beanbag chair. "It's okay. Aren't you happy that your sister will get married soon?" Song Jing didn't feel wronged when he was falsely accused. He noticed the marks on Song Ni's palms and legs, and his brow furrowed. "How did you get injured fighting?" No wonder it took you so long to come home. Song Ni casually crossed her legs. "You haven't been training these days?" Song Ni's eyes darted. She was already worried about how to teach Lu Hao Ting. Learning was one thing, and teaching was another. She knew herself well enough not to be a good teacher. The simple video tutorials she had made before were only based on her recalling how Song Jing had taught her, barely managing to create them.
"Are you free in a couple of days? Help me with something." Song Jing handed Song Ni a scar repair cream he had found. "What for?" "Lu Hao Ting wants me to teach him karate. I'll be releasing a collection of tutorials, and he'll be in them. He's serious about learning, and I genuinely want to teach him something." Hearing this, Song Jing understood her meaning. "You want my guidance? What's in it for me?" Song Ni rolled her eyes at him. "I haven't settled the score with you about the blind date yet. Tell me, why did you recommend Tan Zheng to Dad? Did you know him before?"
Song Jing had no intention of hiding anything from Song Ni. "When your sister-in-law was sick in America, I went to take care of her. I ran into Tan Zheng at the hospital." Song Ni's leg-crossing movement abruptly stopped, her brow furrowed. "What was he doing at the hospital? Was he sick?"
