"Where did you hear that?"
Liu Yilin immediately asked him.
Ning Beichen was momentarily speechless, as these were things only those who had dealt with the Violet family would know. There were no outside rumors about the Violet family's reputation.
"Forget it, boss, I was just talking nonsense. Just be careful."
Ning Beichen replied.
"Don't worry about things that aren't your concern. Just drive the car properly, you're only a bodyguard."
Seeing that he couldn't give a reason, Liu Yilin thought he was just talking nonsense and spoke to him unhappily.
Ning Beichen pursed his lips, too lazy to refute Liu Yilin's words. His only task was to protect her. She wasn't his woman, so he was unnecessarily worrying.
Soon it was evening, and Ning Beichen drove Liu Yilin to the largest and best restaurant in Haizhou New City, the Cloud Top Restaurant.
This restaurant was located on the top floor of a skyscraper. Dining here offered a panoramic view of the entire Haizhou New City, but with such a good location, the prices were naturally exorbitant.
When Liu Yilin arrived, she found that the entire restaurant was exclusively serving her that night. Ryan had booked the entire Cloud Top Restaurant. It would likely cost millions for just one evening.
As soon as she walked through the restaurant entrance, she saw a red carpet leading directly to the dining table, accompanied by a large bouquet of purple angel roses air-freighted from France.
Any ordinary girl seeing this would have been swooning, eager to throw herself into Ryan's arms. However, Liu Yilin felt indifferent.
"Miss Liu Yilin, you look stunning tonight."
Ryan was wearing a white suit that evening, his hair neatly styled, and a subtle scent of chestnut perfume emanated from him.
He saw Liu Yilin arrive and quickly stood up, walking towards her with a gentle demeanor. After speaking, he even bowed and kissed the back of her hand in a gentlemanly fashion, causing Liu Yilin's heart to race.
This Ryan was truly handsome, possessing a charm that made even the usually icy Liu Yilin's heart skip a beat.
"Hello, Mr. Ryan, it's a pleasure to meet you."
However, Liu Yilin was ultimately a high-ranking CEO, not a foolish young girl, and she quickly regained her composure. She spoke to Ryan and did not accept the roses.
"Miss Liu Yilin, you are as beautiful as an angel. I think this bouquet of purple angels suits you perfectly."
Ryan said, personally presenting the roses to her.
"Thank you, Mr. Ryan. There's no need to spend so much. I don't like cut flowers. I prefer to see them growing freely in their natural environment."
Liu Yilin said.
"I believe Miss Yilin must be a very kind-hearted girl. But don't you think it would be a shame for such beautiful flowers to be thrown in the trash?"
Ryan smiled, confident that his charm could win this woman over.
Just then, Ning Beichen walked over from behind. He casually took the bouquet from Ryan's hand.
"On behalf of my boss, thank you. However, my boss dislikes flowers. I'll take them outside and give them to another girl, so they won't end up in the trash."
Before Ryan could even react, Ning Beichen swaggered out with the expensive bouquet of purple angel roses, specially air-freighted from overseas.
Not only was Ryan stunned, but Liu Yilin was also taken aback.
"Miss Yilin, is he your bodyguard?"
Liu Yilin nodded, and said somewhat apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mr. Ryan. How about I ask him to bring the flowers back and return them to you?"
"No, no, it's just a bouquet of flowers. Since Miss Yilin doesn't like them, it's fine for him to take them to give to someone else, to avoid waste."
Ryan said with an awkward smile, though in his heart he was cursing Ning Beichen's ancestors. If he had the chance, he would definitely teach this impudent fellow a lesson.
"Miss Yilin, please."
Ryan's expression remained unchanged, and he remained a gentleman as he walked to the table and pulled out a chair.
"Thank you."
Liu Yilin sat down.
Regardless, Ryan was not someone she found repulsive. For girls, Ryan was like their dream lover.
Born into one of Europe's oldest families, with endless wealth, tall and handsome, and well-mannered, he was, by all accounts, the prince charming in girls' hearts.
"Mr. Ryan, may I ask what you wanted to see me about?"
Liu Yilin asked after she sat down.
Ryan gestured to her, then called a waiter over and gave him some instructions before smilingly saying to her, "Miss Yilin, tonight is our happy time. Let's not talk about these things."
Before Liu Yilin could reply, she heard a band walk over and surround them, playing music. A violinist circled around Liu Yilin.
"Miss Yilin, work is important, but life is also important. There's no need to be so stressed. You should relax yourself from time to time. Tonight, we won't talk about work; how about we let you relax?"
Ryan said to Liu Yilin with apparent concern.
Indeed, Liu Yilin immediately felt Ryan's thoughtfulness. Any woman would likely be moved by such words and instinctively feel that this man was considerate.
Ning Beichen, listening from outside, couldn't help but scoff. He had seen plenty of guys like him. All these talk about ancient families and their cunning schemes. If you really believed them, they'd sell you and you wouldn't even know it.
However, Liu Yilin was just his boss, not his woman. As long as her safety wasn't threatened, Ning Beichen wasn't inclined to meddle too much. How she chose to proceed was her own business.
As a bodyguard, Ning Beichen couldn't possibly join them for dinner. He beckoned to a waiter and asked him to get him something to eat. Since Ryan was paying for everything, Ning Beichen asked the waiter to serve him the best and most expensive food.
Ning Beichen sat at an empty table, eating his meal, occasionally glancing at the two people talking and laughing in front of him. Although it wasn't his business, it still made him feel a bit jealous, as if that guy was undermining him or stealing his things.
Perhaps it was also because Ning Beichen knew the guy's background, which led to him having a bad impression of him from the start.
Moreover, Ning Beichen didn't know that Ryan was a Golden Knight of the Order of the Holy Temple. Otherwise, he would never have allowed Liu Yilin to interact with him and would have immediately beaten him to a pulp.
