Chapter 10 I Think You Are the Biggest Danger

"Approximately three hundred meters away from me, a bit past the nine o'clock direction, there's a large building. The enemy should be in a window of this building, aiming at me..."

Ning Beichen calculated in his mind, and a distorted image gradually formed in his head. He seemed to see someone through a window, aiming at him with a weapon, even seeing the model of the weapon used.

However, this sense of crisis came and went quickly, lasting only two to three seconds. Soon, Ning Beichen could no longer detect the opponent. He guessed they had hidden, but it gave Ning Beichen a sense of vigilance.

Just then, Ning Beichen suddenly felt his abdomen go numb, as if an electric current had passed through his body, making him tremble. He looked down and saw Liu Yilin holding a taser, shocking him repeatedly.

"Ning Beichen! What are you doing?"

Liu Yilin's teeth were gritted.

"Boss, I... I wasn't doing anything?"

Ning Beichen had only spoken halfway when he realized he was too close, not at an appropriate distance for a bodyguard and employer. No wonder Liu Yilin used a taser on him.

"Boss, it's a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. I sensed danger just now, so I used my body to shield you."

Ning Beichen quickly moved away and explained.

"Danger? I think you are the greatest danger!"

Liu Yilin was furious, gritting her teeth. She continuously pressed the red switch on the taser, emitting crackling electric sounds, as if she wanted to electrocute Ning Beichen into cooked pork.

"Enough, boss, there's real danger. Stop fooling around!"

The electric current had little effect on Ning Beichen. Seeing Liu Yilin's persistence, he snatched the taser from her hand and then, using one hand, pushed her against the doorframe and said fiercely.

Liu Yilin was pinned against the car door by the tall Ning Beichen, unable to move. She felt Ning Beichen's aggressive gaze and instantly panicked.

"Let... let go of me, you bastard!"

Liu Yilin didn't believe him about the danger at all. This scoundrel must be unable to resist making advances on her. Her best friend was right; this guy was a wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Boss, please stop fooling around. There are really enemies."

Ning Beichen dared not relax his vigilance, his eyes fixed on the place where he had sensed danger.

After a while, Ning Beichen only let her go when he confirmed it was safe, but he didn't return the taser to her.

Although this thing couldn't kill him, being electrocuted didn't feel good. He wondered if this woman was crazy for carrying a taser and pepper spray.

Ning Beichen originally wanted to explain more to her, but he didn't know where to start. She wasn't him, and couldn't sense the danger. Explaining would be pointless.

Liu Yilin looked at him with cold eyes, clearly not believing his nonsense.

So Ning Beichen explained nothing, let her get into the car, and then left the place at full speed. However, the incident served as a wake-up call for him.

His master had sent him back to protect this woman, and it certainly wasn't for him to enjoy a leisurely life. This meant someone was targeting Liu Yilin from behind, and not just anyone, otherwise, why would his master have sent him back?

"No matter who you are, if you want to deal with the woman I, Ning Beichen, am protecting, your fate is sealed!"

Ning Beichen said fiercely in his heart while driving.

Before long, Ning Beichen drove back to the company. All the way, Liu Yilin didn't say a word to him, only staring at him with cold eyes.

This made Ning Beichen feel helpless. If it weren't for his master's orders, he would have long abandoned this reckless woman.

But there was no other way. This was a direct order from his master. Even if the woman in front of him were a pile of dung, he, Ning Beichen, would have to grit his teeth and swallow it.

Upon returning to the company, she wore a cold face. Ning Beichen couldn't be bothered with the ungrateful Liu Yilin and began pacing around the company, checking if any enemies had infiltrated.

If it were before, he wouldn't be so cautious. But after what had just happened, Ning Beichen dared not slack off anymore.

He walked around the company like an idler, annoying everyone. They all thought he was simply bored.

Ning Beichen couldn't be bothered to explain. Ensuring Liu Yilin's safety was his job.

Especially in Liu Yilin's office, Ning Beichen checked every corner meticulously, ignoring Liu Yilin's cold gaze. He forcefully moved her desk away from the window, preventing potential remote attacks and eliminating the threat in advance, which enraged Liu Yilin to the point of wanting to devour him.

This guy was clearly up to no good, yet he pretended as if someone was actually targeting her.

"Boss, you are in some sort of danger. I think you need..."

Before Ning Beichen could finish speaking, he heard Liu Yilin's furious voice.

"I don't need anything. I just need you to disappear from my sight and never appear again. Tell me, how much money do you want to let go?"

"Boss, what are you talking about? I'm only here to protect you, not for money."

Ning Beichen found this woman increasingly bizarre, as if she were deliberately targeting him.

"Ning Beichen, you don't need to pretend. You know very well why you're here. I'm telling you, it's impossible in this lifetime. Give up on that idea!"

Liu Yilin said through gritted teeth.

"Boss, do you have some misunderstanding about me?"

Ning Beichen asked her strangely, feeling as if they were not on the same wavelength at all.

"I've already made it so clear, and this guy is still pretending."

Liu Yilin was so angry her teeth itched. She could swear that she hadn't been as angry in her life as she had been in the past two days.

But what could she do?

This guy was feigning ignorance while clearly understanding everything, refusing to admit his intentions.

Although she could fire him, who knew if this guy had even more despicable tricks up his sleeve? At least in front of her, she could see whatever tricks he was trying to pull.

Liu Yilin took a deep breath, her chest heaving. She told herself not to get angry, as anger aged women, and she absolutely could not let this guy succeed.

"Get out!"

Liu Yilin really didn't want to see him, at least not at this moment.

Ning Beichen felt bewildered and didn't understand why Liu Yilin was so angry with him. It seemed he hadn't done anything excessive!

It was just that when he was protecting her earlier, he had accidentally touched her once. That was hardly an excessive act; it wasn't intentional.
