Chapter 25 A Heart of True Devotion for the Boss

With a screech.

The engine hood belched black smoke, and Ning Beichen ripped off his seatbelt, then unbuckled Liu Yilin's. He got out of the car at top speed and ran around, dragging the dazed Liu Yilin out of the passenger seat.

"Ning Beichen..."

Liu Yilin felt dizzy, her head still aching slightly, and let out a soft groan.

"Don't speak, you hit your head."

Ning Beichen placed his hand over the wound on her head, estimating that when the right side of the car was impacted earlier, her head must have struck something inside the car, creating a finger-sized gash.

Ning Beichen had nothing on him, so he could only cover the wound on her head with his hand and then led her towards the exit on the other side. However, at this moment, the people who had been chasing them also arrived, about a dozen of them. They were all wearing motorcycle helmets, and the helmets were adorned with skull and red flame patterns, indicating they were a group.

These people surrounded the two of them, holding collapsible batons in their hands.

"Hand over this woman, and you can go."

One of the helmeted figures said to Ning Beichen in a hoarse voice.

"Really?"

Ning Beichen asked.

"I can guarantee you, our target is her, not to kill anyone."

The hoarse-voiced man stated.

"Alright, I hope you keep your word. I'm just a bodyguard; there's no need for me to lose my life over a job."

Ning Beichen told him.

"Ning Beichen, you..."

Liu Yilin, held tightly in his arms, almost spat out a mouthful of blood upon hearing Ning Beichen's words. This guy was saying something so spineless.

Ning Beichen winked at her repeatedly, signaling her to play along. However, this woman with an IQ of 230 simply didn't understand what Ning Beichen meant.

Ning Beichen simply ignored her and forcibly dragged her to a nearby seesaw, making her sit down.

"Ning Beichen, you... you bastard!"

Liu Yilin cursed him, her head still fuzzy. She wanted to escape, but her head was so dizzy she could barely walk normally.

Watching Ning Beichen walk away from her callously, Liu Yilin's face showed a look of despair. This guy was indeed unreliable; as soon as there was danger, he only cared about himself.

"Alright, can I go now?"

Ning Beichen asked them after moving about five meters away from Liu Yilin.

"Scram!"

The man in the motorcycle helmet said to him with disdain.

Ning Beichen nodded, his expression one of fear as he walked towards them, which immediately confused his pursuers.

Didn't this guy just run away to a place with no one around? Why was he so foolish, walking in their direction?

However, regardless of their confusion, the thought of this guy abandoning his employer without hesitation made them believe he was simply an idiot with a screw loose, so his abnormal behavior wasn't surprising.

Therefore, not only did they not stop him, but they all watched with grinning faces as the panicked bodyguard stumbled away.

As Ning Beichen walked hunched over towards them, he suddenly looked up and grinned at them, giving them a bad premonition.

But before they could react, they saw Ning Beichen charge into the group like a fierce tiger entering a flock of sheep.

With a bang.

A fist the size of a clay pot shattered one of their helmets, sending blood splattering all over the wearer's face, eliciting a pig-slaughtering scream.

Then, Ning Beichen delivered a punch to each of them, like hitting sandbags, specifically targeting their helmets. Don't think that wearing these things would provide protection. Ning Beichen was now using reality to tell them that under his fists, these things were no different from paper.

The reason Ning Beichen had pretended to be cowardly earlier was simply because he didn't want Liu Yilin to be in danger. Once Ning Beichen started fighting, it would be difficult for him to protect her.

Now, it was fine. They had made him bring Liu Yilin to a safe place, and now he could turn around and deal with these guys without any worries.

In less than two minutes, over a dozen people with bloodied faces lay on the ground, silent.

Ning Beichen rummaged through them and found a card. The address on the card was a nightclub. These people should be related to this nightclub, or rather, to someone in the nightclub.

After pocketing the card, Ning Beichen walked back to Liu Yilin, grinned at her, and said with an apologetic expression.

"Boss, I'm sorry. I used a little strategy to lull them just now. You won't blame me, will you?"

"My heart is true to my boss, how could I bear to abandon you? If I really did that, I'd be worse than a dog."

Ning Beichen quickly declared.

"Alright, I believe you. If you really wanted to leave, you wouldn't have fought them."

Liu Yilin wasn't stupid. Seeing Ning Beichen take down all those people with her own eyes, she immediately understood his intentions.

Ning Beichen had been signaling her all along, but at that time, she was panicked and dizzy, and didn't understand his meaning for a while.

"I'm glad Boss doesn't blame me for acting on my own initiative."

Ning Beichen said, relieved.

"Boss, can I still walk?"

Ning Beichen asked her.

Liu Yilin stood up and took a few steps before feeling a wave of dizziness, looking like she was about to fall. Ning Beichen quickly supported her.

"No, I'm very dizzy."

Liu Yilin said.

"Then what do we do? I don't know if these people will give up..."

Ning Beichen said worriedly.

Liu Yilin also showed a fearful expression.

"Boss, how about I carry you? Let's get out of here first."

Ning Beichen suggested after thinking.

Liu Yilin glanced at the surrounding environment, gritted her teeth, and nodded. Compared to being with Ning Beichen, she was more afraid of these unknown individuals.

Ning Beichen crouched down in front of her, and Liu Yilin hesitated for a long time before shyly leaning onto Ning Beichen's back.

Ning Beichen picked her up and strode away from the scene.

Liu Yilin, carried on his back, was blushing. Since childhood, apart from her parents, no other man had ever carried her.

However, the man carrying her now wasn't a good guy. She must not be moved by him; perhaps he had arranged all of this, Liu Yilin thought to herself.

Ning Beichen, however, had no idea what Liu Yilin behind him was thinking. Otherwise, he would have definitely called her an ungrateful wretch.
