Chapter 408 A Biased Family

"Slap!"

Five red finger marks appeared on Liu Yizi's face.

"Sister, you… you hit me?"

Liu Yizi touched his burning face, his expression one of disbelief, which quickly contorted into one of ferocity.

From childhood, Liu Yizi had been doted upon. No one at home had ever dared to scold him, let alone hit him.

"Lin'er, what are you doing? He's your brother."

At this moment, their mother rushed over, embracing the slapped Liu Yizi and tenderly touching his cheek, looking very displeased with Liu Yilin.

"My brother is being foolish. Since you won't teach him, I will," Liu Yilin said expressionlessly.

"Absurd! You are his sister; you should protect your brother." The mother was somewhat annoyed.

"If my brother had done nothing wrong, why would I hit him?" Liu Yilin countered.

"Even if your brother made a mistake, can't you, as his sister, be a little more forgiving? He's your only brother, after all." The mother was clearly biased, not inquiring about the reasons, but only showing favoritism.

Seeing her mother's favoritism, Liu Yilin, though angry, suppressed her temper. She expressionlessly took out her phone and played the recording of their previous conversation.

"This kid Liu Yizi is quite heartless, going as far as to deal with his own sister to seize her company."

"Isn't he? If I had a son like that, I'd have slapped him to death long ago."

"Heh, no matter who he is, he hired us to deal with his sister. To us, it's just business."

"This Liu Yilin is so beautiful, so intelligent, so capable. I never expected she'd have such a scumbag for a brother."

"As long as we capture his sister, then what can't we brothers do to her? Liu Yizi is an idiot for doing this. If we threaten him, he'll have to obey us."

"..."

The subsequent conversation from these individuals was even more unsavory. Liu Yilin had recorded everything Liu Yizi had done, making him sweat profusely.

"Mom, these are the things your son has done. At this point, are you still going to shield him?" Liu Yilin took a deep breath and said.

No matter how angry she was, the person in front of her was her mother. Liu Yilin didn't want to go too far or be called unfilial.

Hearing the recording, Liu Yilin's mother's heart pounded. She never imagined her son would do such a thing.

But Liu Yizi was her most beloved son, her darling. How could she bear to blame him?

"Lin'er, Yizi already knows he was wrong, and you hit him. Let's just let this go," Liu Yilin's mother said to her daughter, looking at her son's face with concern.

Liu Yilin said nothing. This was her only stubbornness. She didn't really want to do anything to her brother; she just hoped her mother would be fair, at least to reprimand and scold him.

But her mother's favoritism for her son had reached this point. Her son had done something like this to his sister, and yet their mother couldn't even utter a word of reprimand. Clearly, Liu Yilin's heart had been deeply wounded.

"Besides, your brother wasn't wrong. You're a girl; you'll get married sooner or later. In my opinion, let your brother manage the company. It's going to happen eventually anyway." The mother said to her with an air of entitlement.

Liu Yilin's expression darkened. She had initially thought that even if her brother did something foolish, her mother wouldn't shield him. Now, seeing her mother's attitude, Liu Yilin understood that in her mother's eyes, her son was the most important.

"Father, do you think so too?" Liu Yilin turned to her father, who was sitting silently by the side.

Liu Yilin's father looked up at his daughter. Although his expression held pity for her, he was henpecked in this family and had no say. Ultimately, he lowered his head, avoiding his daughter's gaze. His attitude was evident.

"On what grounds?"

"I built this company with my own hands. I never spent a cent of your money. When my company was short of funds, when it was in trouble, when it was on the verge of collapse, where were you?"

"Now you open your mouths and want my company. I'd like to ask, on what grounds?"

"If my brother were talented and truly had management skills, I'd be willing to give him some shares and let him participate in the company's management. But look at what he's done?"

"Hiring people to kidnap his own sister. And you call him my brother. Does he even consider me his sister!"

"If I hadn't managed to return today, would you have acted as if you never had a daughter like me?"

The more Liu Yilin spoke, the more wronged, louder, and angrier she became.

Her powerful aura pressed down on the three people present, rendering them speechless, like small boats in a storm. It was only then that they realized how formidable their daughter had become.

After a long silence, the mother retorted indignantly, "No matter what, I'm still your mother. Without me, would you have achieved what you have today?"

"Besides, you're not married yet and are still a daughter of the Liu family. What belongs to the daughter is mine. What's wrong with your brother asking for the company now?"

"I know you like that little bodyguard named Ning Beichen. That bodyguard is just after your money. If you're willing to hand over the company to your brother, I promise to let you be together."

Hearing her mother's words pained Liu Yilin. She then thought of Ning Beichen, and her heart sank with repeated disappointment in her mother. Yet, out of filial piety, she had nothing to say.

No matter how bad she was, her mother had given birth to her, given her life.

"I'm tired." Liu Yilin didn't want to continue speaking and turned to leave.

"Unfilial daughter!"

"I told you she's grown up. Her heart is already with that wild man, no longer with her parents or this family." Liu Yilin's mother said angrily.

"My dear, your daughter is not like that. It's not easy for her to struggle alone out there..." Liu Yilin's father said timidly.

"You shut up! Useless old man! Just like your daughter, you only bully me." Before Liu Yilin's father could finish, his wife erupted into a torrent of abuse. Liu Yilin's father had no choice but to remain silent. Although he sympathized and felt pained for his daughter, he couldn't speak up in front of the tigress.

"Mom, look at my sister's attitude. She doesn't even respect you now." Liu Yizi fanned the flames from the side, hating his sister in his heart.

After leaving, Liu Yilin walked alone on the street like a wandering ghost, her heart filled with pain.

It wasn't that she was reluctant to part with Tianmei Technology Group; it was that she knew very well how difficult it had been to build it up.

It wasn't that she looked down on her brother. If she truly handed Tianmei Technology Group over to Liu Yizi, the company would likely be gone within a year.

Moreover, many within the company were veterans who had fought alongside her. If she handed the company to Liu Yizi, how disappointed they would be.
