Chapter 299 A Jealous Woman Is Unreasonable

Ning Beichen drove his car, chasing behind her. He never expected Liu Yilin's car to speed up, making him extremely anxious. He tried to catch up while dialing Liu Yilin's phone number.

Liu Yilin heard her phone ring and looked at it. Seeing it was Ning Beichen, she didn't even bother to answer, letting the phone ring by her ear.

Ning Beichen grew more and more anxious. It was peak rush hour, and traffic was heavy. No matter how much he wanted to speed up, he couldn't. After passing an intersection, Liu Yilin's car disappeared from his sight.

Ning Beichen wasn't afraid of running a red light, but he was blocked by the cars in front. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't. He could only watch helplessly as Liu Yilin's car vanished. He honked his horn a few times in frustration, drawing curses from the car in front.

Finally, when the car in front started moving, Ning Beichen quickly accelerated, overtaking several cars. However, Liu Yilin's car was nowhere to be seen.

After chasing for a while and not finding Liu Yilin's car, Ning Beichen called her secretary to inquire about the situation. The secretary informed Ning Beichen that Liu Yilin had not returned to the company, which left Ning Beichen scratching his head.

"Why is this woman so angry? Honestly, I never said I would agree to your sister."

Ning Beichen was extremely vexed. He had actually installed a GPS tracker in her car to keep track of Liu Yilin's whereabouts.

However, Liu Yilin had left in such a hurry that she wasn't driving her own car but Annie, the secretary's car. Therefore, Ning Beichen couldn't find out where Liu Yilin was.

"Where on earth has this woman run off to? She hasn't gone home, nor has she returned to the company. Don't you know that many people want your life right now?"

Ning Beichen couldn't help but curse. He couldn't understand why she was so angry; he was the one who should be angry.

But there was nothing he could do. Ning Beichen couldn't abandon her. If anything happened to her, his master would flay him alive.

Meanwhile, Liu Yilin, driven by impulse, drove her car distractedly.

When she came to her senses, she realized she was no longer in the city but on a dark, desolate country road. There was not a single light in sight, and no signs of human habitation.

The sky had completely darkened, and there wasn't a soul around. Liu Yilin began to panic. She turned the car around to drive back along the road, but the more she drove, the more remote it became. Not only could she not see the main road, but she couldn't even find the original dirt path anymore.

At this point, Liu Yilin remembered to use her navigation. However, for some reason, the navigation seemed to be leading her further and further into the wilderness. By now, she was completely lost.

"Should I call that scoundrel Ning Beichen?"

Liu Yilin was conflicted. Then, she suddenly remembered that scoundrel was with her sister, and she immediately became furious, completely abandoning the idea of calling him.

She even openly justified her anger, telling herself that Ning Beichen, that scoundrel, was seducing her sister, rather than her being angry out of jealousy.

"But I'm so scared."

Liu Yilin looked around at the pitch darkness and felt the urge to urinate.

A little while later, the car suddenly made a strange noise, shook violently a few times, and then stalled. This was the last straw for Liu Yilin.

Liu Yilin tried to start the car several times without success. She then looked at the fuel gauge and realized she was out of gas.

"I'm doomed."

Only then did Liu Yilin truly become scared. She quickly picked up her phone to call Ning Beichen, but when she looked at it, her heart sank. There wasn't even a single bar of phone signal in this area.

Stranded in such a place, she felt like she was calling out to heaven and earth but no one would hear. Liu Yilin became as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, regretting her impulsive decision to drive to this place.

The car wouldn't start due to lack of fuel, her phone had no signal, and its battery was also running low. The surroundings were completely dark.

Although it wasn't a deep, dense forest, the sounds of snakes, insects, rats, and ants coming from the surrounding grass made her feel very scared all alone.

After a while, Liu Yilin couldn't hold it any longer. She stealthily got out of the car, looked around, and quickly squatted down to relieve herself.

Even though she knew there was no one to watch her, Liu Yilin still acted flustered and secretive, as if she were a thief. After all, she was the CEO of Tianmei Technology Group, and she felt quite embarrassed doing such a thing.

After a few minutes of splashing water, Liu Yilin, as if fleeing, ran back to the car and locked the doors tightly.

What she didn't know was that her disappearance was driving Ning Beichen nearly insane. He had dispatched all his men to search for her, but Ning Beichen was looking in the wrong place.

He had always assumed Liu Yilin was still in the city, so all the people he sent out were searching within the city. He never imagined she had left the city and gone to some unknown wilderness.

Unknowingly, it was already midnight. Liu Yilin still had no news.

The people Ning Beichen had sent out had searched every bar, nightclub, hotel, and guesthouse in Haizhou New City, large and small, but found no trace of Liu Yilin.

Ning Beichen had considered calling the police, but if even his own men couldn't find Liu Yilin, calling the police would be useless.

Ning Beichen had also searched all the places Liu Yilin might go or often visited, but there was no clue. Her girlfriends also said Liu Yilin hadn't visited them.

Meanwhile, Liu Yilin was curled up in the car. It was pitch black all around, and even the last bit of her phone's battery was gone.

"Ning Beichen, I'm so scared. Come find me quickly. At most, I won't call you a scoundrel anymore."

Liu Yilin murmured weakly, sitting inside the car.

But her prayers were useless. Ning Beichen wasn't a psychic; how could he know she had driven to such a desolate place? He was still searching for her all over the city.

A person couldn't just disappear for no reason. Ning Beichen's greatest fear was that she had been kidnapped, so he focused his investigation in that direction.

However, Ning Beichen searched until one or two in the morning without finding any trace of Liu Yilin, leaving him helpless. He could only wait until daylight.

After all, he was human, not a god, and he couldn't divine or predict. Even with his master-level cultivation, it was of no help in finding someone.

If she had been kidnapped, the perpetrators must have a motive, and he could only wait for them to contact him, or for Liu Yilin's family to be contacted.

At this moment, Liu Yilin was alone in the car, exhausted, thirsty, and scared. She wanted to sleep but couldn't, or rather, she dared not sleep. So, following Ning Beichen's teachings, she sat cross-legged in the car and began to cultivate.
