Li Qin saw Fu Wen Hai's inner turmoil and indecision. She scoffed inwardly, thinking him useless.
Despite her thoughts, Li Qin maintained a calm facade. "This isn't about brute force; it's about intellect," she told Fu Wen Hai. "If you have brains, everything can be resolved."
Fu Wen Hai was still conflicted. While what she said was true, the immediate problem was how they would get close to Fu Yan Ting.
"I have a way," Li Qin explained.
She then leaned in and whispered a few words into Fu Wen Hai's ear.
After hearing her plan, Fu Wen Hai couldn't help but frown. He looked at Li Qin, still somewhat fearful, and asked, "Will this work?"
"What won't work? He dared to treat you like that, and you're still concerned about your reputation? If you don't do as I say, don't come to me again."
"I didn't say I wouldn't listen. Why are you getting so worked up?"
Li Qin snorted.
She knew Fu Wen Hai's character all too well. It was precisely because she understood him that she looked down on him so much.
Fu Wen Hai decided he still needed to inform Fu Yan Ting.
After Li Qin left, Fu Wen Hai called Fu Yan Ting.
When Fu Yan Ting saw the caller ID, he sneered.
Fu Yan Ting already knew what Fu Wen Hai wanted to discuss. He calmly hung up the phone.
Fu Wen Hai was surprised that Fu Yan Ting wouldn't even take his call now. He scoffed, "Fu Yan Ting, you brought this upon yourself. Don't regret it."
Fu Wen Hai then composed and sent a text message to Fu Yan Ting.
Upon reading the message, Fu Yan Ting was amused to the point of anger. He never expected Fu Wen Hai to have the audacity to message him, let alone threaten him.
Those who dared to threaten him usually met a grim end.
Fu Wen Hai was his paternal uncle, and Fu Yan Ting could consider allowing him a dignified demise.
Fu Yan Ting calmly called Xin Yi. When Xin Yi answered, Fu Yan Ting issued a cold command.
Xin Yi nodded.
This time, Fu Wen Hai must have crossed a line for Fu Yan Ting to be so cruel, disregarding their kinship.
Having been by Fu Yan Ting's side for so many years, Xin Yi understood him well. Yet, this very person was pushed to such extremes by Fu Wen Hai, highlighting how excessive Fu Wen Hai's actions must have been.
Fu Yan Ting needed to wait outside the operating room to be the first to receive news about Shen Hao Lin, so he didn't go to settle scores with Fu Wen Hai.
Shortly after, Shen Hao Lin's family arrived at the hospital.
Upon seeing Fu Yan Ting, Shen Hao Lin's father remained relatively calm. His son had always been dedicated to his work and never caused trouble. How could he be injured and end up in the hospital?
Shen Hao Lin's father, Shen Nan, couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Fu, I'd like to know how my son was injured?"
Shen Hao Lin's mother, who was beside him, could only weep and cry, unable to provide any solutions.
Shen Nan was furious. He turned and glared at Shen Hao Lin's mother, angrily shouting, "That's enough from you!"
Shen Hao Lin's mother, still crying, was startled by Shen Nan's outburst and momentarily forgot she was weeping.
Fu Yan Ting briefly explained the situation to Shen Nan.
Shen Nan's expression grew solemn.
Shen Hao Lin's mother, however, became agitated. She cried out, "My poor son! He's so young. If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have been in an accident. If anything happens to my son, I won't let you off!"
Shen Nan, being more rational, frowned upon hearing his wife's words.
He thought her to be utterly narrow-minded.
As Fu Yan Ting's assistant, it was his duty to save Fu Yan Ting at a critical moment. It was instinct.
Fu Yan Ting hadn't forced him to do it, yet she was threatening him. How dare she?
What right did she have to confront Fu Yan Ting?
If Fu Yan Ting hadn't been saved by Shen Hao Lin, he wouldn't be standing here listening to her nonsensical ravings.
Facing Shen Hao Lin's mother's unreasonable outburst, Fu Yan Ting remained unfazed.
Any mother would be emotionally distraught and unstable after their son's accident, except... Lin Qian.
Thinking of Lin Qian, Fu Yan Ting lowered his gaze.
If he were the one in trouble, Lin Qian would likely be overjoyed and wouldn't even care if he was truly injured.
Why was there such a stark difference between mothers?
Seeing Fu Yan Ting fall silent, Shen Nan assumed he was angry.
Shen Nan quickly stepped forward to explain, "Mr. Fu, please don't be angry. My wife is just extremely worried about our child, which is why she's so emotional. She didn't mean it."
"Shen Nan, who told you I didn't mean it? I'm telling you, I meant every word. You're afraid to speak up, always so timid, but I'm not. My son is in there, his life hanging in the balance, what am I afraid of?"
Shen Nan had only intended to defuse the situation for his wife, but when she didn't appreciate his efforts, he became angry too. He snorted and retorted, "Fine, I'm done with you."
Fu Yan Ting saw that the couple was on the verge of an argument.
Meanwhile, Shen Hao Lin was still in the operating room, his life uncertain.
He remained calm.
"I understand that Auntie is just deeply concerned for her son," he said. "Please rest assured, no matter the cost, I will not let Assistant Shen die."
Shen Nan seemed surprised that Fu Yan Ting was being so reasonable.
He suddenly felt a pang of guilt.
With a helpless sigh, he said, "Mr. Fu, on behalf of Hao Lin, I thank you."
Before long, the light in the operating room went out.
The doctor emerged, and everyone looked on with anxiety. Fu Yan Ting was the first to regain his composure and stepped forward, asking, "Doctor, how is he?"
"Mr. Fu, the patient's heart is located on the left side. Coupled with the timely arrival, despite significant blood loss, he has fortunately survived this ordeal."
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the doctor's words.
As long as his life was not in danger, that was all that mattered.
However, everyone overlooked one crucial detail mentioned by the doctor: Shen Hao Lin's heart was on the left side, whereas a normal person's heart is on the right.
Soon after, Shen Hao Lin was moved to a regular hospital room.
Despite still requiring oxygen and having several tubes inserted, it didn't seem to bother him.
The doctor said the tubes could be removed the next day, and after a few days of observation, he would be discharged.
Hearing the doctor's words, Fu Yan Ting was truly relieved.
If anything had happened to Shen Hao Lin, Fu Yan Ting would have had a lot to answer for to Shen Hao Lin's parents.
