The door to the private room was pushed open, revealing a haze of smoke.
Yan Xi couldn't stand the smell of tobacco and coughed, covering her mouth.
Seeing this, the boss stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.
Only after the smoke cleared did Yan Xi enter the room. The burly man behind her spoke, "Boss, I've brought the person for you."
The boss waved the burly man away, signaling them to leave and close the door.
Yan Xi's heart leaped into her throat.
The surveillance cameras were indeed working in the corridor, but once they entered the private room, the cameras were gone.
Therefore, Yan Xi had no idea what this boss intended to do to her, and she felt a sense of resistance and apprehension.
The boss scrutinized Yan Xi for a long moment before speaking in a low voice, "Miss Yan, there's no need to be nervous. I actually have something very important to discuss with you."
It was less of a discussion and more of a coercion.
His demeanor offered no hint of negotiation.
Yan Xi scoffed internally but maintained a calm exterior.
Seeing Yan Xi's silence, the boss paused and then continued, "Miss Yan, I know you're an intelligent person. So, I won't beat around the bush. To be frank, Fu Yan Ting and I are on very bad terms. I've asked you here today to discuss cooperation."
Yan Xi couldn't fathom it. Did this powerful man have a screw loose? Why would he want to cooperate with her just because he had a falling out with Fu Yan Ting?
As if sensing Yan Xi's thoughts, the boss paused again and said, "Miss Yan, I want you to kill Fu Yan Ting with your own hands. I believe you can do it."
"I'm very sorry, but I can't. You might be overestimating me."
Yan Xi offered no courtesy to the boss.
However, the boss seemed unfazed. He stared fixedly at Yan Xi for a long time before speaking again, "Miss Yan, don't speak too soon. Even if you don't kill Fu Yan Ting, I have many ways to eliminate him. The reason I'm approaching you is so you can get your revenge personally."
Yan Xi found the man's words amusing. What revenge? She had no grievances with Fu Yan Ting, so what was there to avenge?
Despite her thoughts, Yan Xi remained outwardly calm, gazing at the boss. She asked softly, "What do you mean by that?"
The boss, however, remained silent, leaving Yan Xi with a meaningful smile.
Yan Xi wanted to leave the club but found the door was locked.
Knowing Yan Xi's intention to leave, the boss calmly explained, "Miss Yan, I know you want to leave, but you'll have to get past me first."
"You're truly sick."
Yan Xi couldn't hold back any longer and swore.
The other party didn't seem to mind her outburst.
He sat there, quietly observing Yan Xi's subtle expressions.
He took out a cigarette from his pack, preparing to light it. Then, remembering Yan Xi's aversion to tobacco, he put the cigarette back in the pack.
He studied Yan Xi without anger, gazing at her quietly for a long time before saying, "Don't worry, once Fu Yan Ting is dead, I'll let you go."
"Miss Yan, do you really think I'd ask you to a place like this without doing my homework?"
"What do you mean?"
Yan Xi didn't understand what he was implying.
Was it what she suspected?
Yan Xi dared not continue to speculate.
The boss, on the other hand, was completely open. He stated calmly, "I know this club was invested in by Fu Yan Ting. And as the saying goes, the most dangerous place is the safest. That's why I brought you here. Because I know Fu Yan Ting well, he would never imagine that the woman he cherishes would be hidden in his own club. The soundproofing here is also excellent. Even if you scream yourself hoarse, no one will hear you, let alone come to your rescue."
Yan Xi clenched her fists tightly.
The boss calmly continued, "Also, I must inform you that my men have also blocked the mobile signal in this room. If you're thinking of calling for help, that route is also blocked. You might as well save your energy."
Upon hearing his words, Yan Xi realized the man had come prepared.
Yan Xi couldn't help but frown. Escaping this place wouldn't be easy.
Yet, Yan Xi was unwilling to be held captive here.
Who was this person? Why did he harbor such intense animosity towards Fu Yan Ting, even wanting to use Yan Xi to harm him?
What should Yan Xi do to let Fu Yan Ting know he was in danger?
Yan Xi fell into deep thought.
Suddenly, the man chuckled and asked, "Are you worried about Fu Yan Ting?"
Although it was a question, he had already found the answer in Yan Xi's eyes, and his words were certain.
Yan Xi could no longer control herself. Looking at the man before her, she coldly demanded, "Who exactly are you? What do you want?"
"Who I am is not important. As for what I want, I've already told you, Miss Yan. I want Fu Yan Ting to..." The boss paused, staring at Yan Xi. After a moment of silence, he added, "...die."
Yan Xi found the boss utterly perplexing.
If he wanted Fu Yan Ting dead, he should find someone else. Yan Xi would certainly not lay a hand on Fu Yan Ting.
"Miss Yan, if you want to curse me, feel free to do so loudly."
Yan Xi's fists clenched tightly, her eyes glaring fiercely at the boss, filled with much anger but unsure how to release it.
"Miss Yan, I advise you to conserve your energy. After all, the entrance is guarded by my men. You're just a weak woman and no match for them. If I wanted you dead, I only need to give a shout, and they'll come in."
"Isn't that contradictory? You just said the soundproofing in this room is excellent, and no one would hear me if I called for help. But now you're saying that. Aren't you contradicting yourself?" Yan Xi questioned coldly.
Upon hearing Yan Xi's words, the boss suddenly burst into laughter. He then took out the walkie-talkie clipped to his waist and waved it in front of Yan Xi.
Yan Xi immediately understood what his previous statement had meant.
Yan Xi's fists clenched tightly. What should she do to successfully escape this place?
Where was Fu Yan Ting?
Did Fu Yan Ting know she was in danger?
Yan Xi wondered if Fu Yan Ting had a connection with her, if he would come to the club to rescue her.
