Chapter 59 Want to Break Ties with Me, You Have to Ask If I Agree

Yan Xi held her breath, waiting for Fu Yan Ting’s answer, but what she got instead chilled her to the bone.

Although Fu Yan Ting did not directly answer Yan Xi’s question, his attitude clearly conveyed to Yan Xi that even if he had done it, Yan Xi had no right to interfere with his actions.

Yan Xi closed her eyes in despair. After a long while, she opened them, looked at Fu Yan Ting, and said with utmost seriousness, word by word, "Fu Yan Ting, let's go our separate ways amicably."

"Heh."

Fu Yan Ting sneered as he looked at Yan Xi.

Yan Xi, confused, raised her eyes to look at him.

Fu Yan Ting coldly chuckled, "If you want to break ties with me, you’ll have to ask if I agree."

After speaking, Fu Yan Ting ignored Yan Xi's resistance, yanked her towards him, and pushed her onto the sofa. His icy gaze fixed on her, showing no tenderness as he pinned her down.

Yan Xi’s heart pounded with fear, worried that Fu Yan Ting might harm her unborn child.

She struggled to push him away.

But Fu Yan Ting’s strength was immense. Yan Xi, being pregnant, dared not exert too much force and was utterly unable to push him off.

A flicker of hurt flashed in Fu Yan Ting's eyes, but he quickly masked it.

Did Yan Xi not even want him to be close to her now?

Did Yan Xi hate him so much?

She was willing to pay any price to sever ties with him.

"Fu Yan Ting, you're insane."

Yan Xi panicked completely, and hurtful words spilled out of her mouth without thought.

Fu Yan Ting laughed in anger, picked Yan Xi up horizontally, carried her to the bedroom, and placed her on the bed. He looked at her with a chilling gaze.

Yan Xi asked coldly, "Fu Yan Ting, what do you want?"

"After being married for so long, did you think I was impotent because I haven't touched you, and that's why you've been flirting with other men non-stop? Hmm?"

"Yan Xi, I warned you not to get too close to those wild men outside. It seems you took my words as mere wind."

"Fu Yan Ting, I beg you, let me go. Can we just talk properly?"

Yan Xi truly regretted it, regretting giving Fu Yan Ting another chance.

She regretted coming back to talk to Fu Yan Ting.

If she had known Fu Yan Ting was such a beast, Yan Xi would never have returned.

Now, Yan Xi was genuinely worried about her child.

But Fu Yan Ting had no intention of letting Yan Xi off the hook.

No matter how much Yan Xi apologized, Fu Yan Ting acted like a beast and completely disregarded her pleas.

After an unknown amount of time, Yan Xi fainted from the pain.

Seeing Yan Xi’s brow furrowed in pain, Fu Yan Ting’s mood plummeted.

Did Yan Xi detest him this much?

Did she not want him to touch her so desperately?

So, back when they first got married, Yan Xi's constant endearments of "husband" were merely a deceitful facade.

Yet, Fu Yan Ting longed for those times.

Even though it was an illusion, Fu Yan Ting had truly felt happiness then.

After an unknown period, Fu Yan Ting released Yan Xi. He got up and went to the bathroom to take a cold shower.

Yan Xi shifted slightly and felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, accompanied by a gush of liquid.

Yan Xi’s heart leaped into her throat. She was pregnant, less than three months along, and the doctor had strictly warned her against any strenuous activity.

It must have been the forced intimacy with Fu Yan Ting that harmed the baby.

Yan Xi dared not tell Fu Yan Ting about the child, but the pain intensified. She couldn't go to the hospital alone and was terrified, frozen in place, her heart in her mouth.

Fu Yan Ting emerged from his cold shower to find Yan Xi curled up in bed, seemingly in great pain.

Fu Yan Ting frowned. Did being intimate with him cause her such agony?

Did she despise him that much?

They were husband and wife, and such things would happen again. Fu Yan Ting had no intention of divorcing Yan Xi.

His suppressed anger flared up again, and he strode towards Yan Xi.

Yan Xi looked at Fu Yan Ting in terror. Before he could speak, she pleaded, "Fu Yan Ting, my stomach hurts. Can you let me off today?"

Fu Yan Ting pulled back the covers and saw a trace of red blood on the sheet.

Yan Xi lay on the bed, her face deathly pale, her eyes begging Fu Yan Ting not to hurt her further.

Fu Yan Ting picked Yan Xi up.

Yan Xi was terrified, her nerves taut, and she asked, "Fu Yan Ting, what are you doing?"

"Don't worry, it's not what you're thinking."

Fu Yan Ting’s tone was harsh. Recalling what had just happened, Yan Xi felt a mix of shame, anger, and worry.

Her stomach was still aching, and she didn't know if the baby was alright.

Yan Xi had nothing left but her child. She didn't want the baby to be harmed, and she couldn't let it be.

Fu Yan Ting took Yan Xi to the hospital. The doctor examined her, while Fu Yan Ting waited anxiously outside the examination room.

Yan Xi asked in a small voice, "Doctor, is my baby alright?"

"Doesn't your husband know you're pregnant? Why did he act like that? It's outrageous. Can't you two exercise some restraint?"

Yan Xi's face flushed crimson at the doctor's reprimand.

She didn't know how to explain her relationship with Fu Yan Ting to the doctor.

Seeing Yan Xi’s silence, the doctor assumed she was shy and said calmly, "The baby is fine, but you both need to be more restrained. If it happens again, I can't guarantee the baby will remain safe."

Yan Xi's eyes welled up with tears upon hearing the doctor's words.

Thank goodness, thank goodness the baby was alright. Otherwise, Yan Xi would never have forgiven herself.

"Although the baby is safe, you've still had some spotting. I recommend you stay in bed for the first three months. I’ll prescribe some medication to help stabilize the pregnancy. Remember to take it on time when you get home."

"Thank you, Doctor."

Yan Xi expressed her gratitude.

The doctor wrote out the prescription and was about to open the door to hand it to Fu Yan Ting for payment when Yan Xi called out to him.

The doctor looked at Yan Xi, puzzled.

Yan Xi paused for a moment before speaking, "Doctor, my husband and I are not getting along well, and we're planning to divorce. I don't want him to know about the child, so please don't tell him. I can pay the fees myself."

The doctor was bewildered by Yan Xi’s words.

They were intimate enough to be at the hospital for a threatened miscarriage, and yet they were divorcing?

Not getting along well?

If they were getting along well, would it have led to this?

Yan Xi knew the doctor couldn't understand their relationship. In fact, Yan Xi herself couldn't understand how they had reached this point.
