Fu Yan Ting hadn't expected He Qi's words to be so venomous. Upon hearing them, Fu Yan Ting exchanged a glance with He Yun.
Both understood perfectly that He Qi was deliberately trying to provoke them. They were shrewd, having navigated the business world for years and encountered countless people. If they could be easily tricked by He Qi's few words, then their years of experience would have been for naught. Knowing He Qi's intentions, why would they stoop to his level?
Neither He Yun nor Fu Yan Ting spoke, nor did they show anger. This left He Qi appearing like a clown performing for them. He Qi hadn't anticipated this outcome at all. He had believed his words would successfully enrage Fu Yan Ting and He Yun, or at least one of them. From their reaction, it seemed their feelings for Yan Xi were also superficial. With this thought, a wider smile spread across He Qi's lips, as if mocking their inability to find love.
Suddenly, the conference room door was pushed open, and several uniformed police officers entered. Upon seeing Fu Yan Ting and He Yun, the officers greeted them first. Then, they approached He Qi and asked, "Are you He Qi?"
He Qi nodded. The officer presented the arrest warrant. "You are suspected of commercial fraud. This is an arrest warrant. Please come with us."
"Heh, you think you can take me away with just an arrest warrant? Not a chance," He Qi was truly flustered now. He looked pleadingly at the directors present, hoping they would offer assistance. However, the situation was beyond salvage. Fu Yan Ting remained the CEO of Fu Group, and now held sixty percent of the shares. The tide had turned, and no amount of struggling could change the current outcome. These directors were no fools; they knew who held sway in Fu Group. They dared not defy Fu Yan Ting any longer.
Seeing that none of the directors were stepping forward to help him, He Qi declared, "You won't help me? Fine. Don't blame me for being ruthless. If I go down, I'll take you all with me."
No sooner had He Qi finished speaking than he was handcuffed. He Qi was still unwilling to give up, making a last-ditch effort. Looking at them, He Qi said coldly, "Don't you know who I am? I am the second young master of the He family. Aren't you afraid of the He family seeking revenge?"
"You don't need to worry about that. This is a court judgment. Grandfather has filed a lawsuit to formally sever ties with you. From this moment on, you are no longer part of the He family. Your actions represent only yourself and have no connection to the He family whatsoever." He Yun said, directly revealing the court judgment.
"He Yun, I curse you to hell! I curse you to a terrible death!" Knowing his last hope was gone, He Qi was led away. Fu Yan Ting looked at He Yun and said, "Thanks."
"It's nothing. You've helped our He family a lot over the years. It's only natural I'd help you with this small matter," He Yun said softly. He didn't harbor much affection for He Qi. Therefore, as He Qi was taken away, He Yun's emotions remained calm. Despite sharing half their blood, He Yun couldn't muster any positive feelings for He Qi.
He Yun glanced at Fu Yan Ting, knowing Yan Xi had been with him recently. He wanted to ask if Yan Xi was doing well. However, the words caught in his throat. Regardless of Yan Xi's well-being, it had nothing to do with him, He Yun. If anything, it was only familial concern. His absurd, unrequited love was destined for a tragic end. Even so, He Yun still wanted to know every detail of Yan Xi's life.
Fu Yan Ting looked at He Yun and, before He Yun could speak, knew his thoughts. Fu Yan Ting sighed and said, "He Yun, if you want to take Yan Xi home, then go ahead."
He Yun sensed that the two of them were having a spat. However, as an outsider, he couldn't pry. He simply stood there, watching Fu Yan Ting's dejected back. Fu Yan Ting turned and left the conference room. He Yun noticed the share transfer agreement on the conference table. He Yun frowned. Why was there a share transfer agreement here? Out of curiosity, he picked it up and read it, at which point he understood why Fu Yan Ting had said what he did earlier. Though He Yun liked Yan Xi, he knew a relationship between them was impossible. He could sacrifice himself, but he wanted Yan Xi to be happy.
He Yun quickly followed, calling out to Fu Yan Ting. Fu Yan Ting, not understanding why He Yun was stopping him, still paused and turned to face him. He Yun walked up to Fu Yan Ting and placed the share transfer agreement in front of him, asking, "Have you looked at this share transfer agreement?"
Fu Yan Ting thought He Yun had stopped him for some other reason. It turned out he was just adding to his misery. Fu Yan Ting said coldly, "No. If you're calling me about this, you can leave."
He Yun heard the evident anger in Fu Yan Ting's voice and sighed helplessly. He knew Fu Yan Ting hadn't looked carefully and had jumped to conclusions, which was why he had told He Yun to take Yan Xi home. He Yun sighed again and said, "Yan Ting, are you sure you don't want to look at this share transfer agreement more carefully? Don't regret it later."
Fu Yan Ting didn't understand why He Yun was insistent that he look at the share transfer agreement, but he truly didn't want to. He Yun originally didn't want Fu Yan Ting to know the truth, but he found he couldn't do it. He sighed and asked, "Yan Ting, have you ever considered that your company needs to change its lawyers?"
All employees of Fu Group were graduates of prestigious universities, and even the cleaning staff had graduated from ordinary universities. At this moment, hearing He Yun's words, Fu Yan Ting understood the implied meaning. Fu Yan Ting asked faintly, "What is it?" After saying this, he took the share transfer agreement and glanced at it.
He Yun knew that the usually astute Fu Yan Ting had let anger cloud his judgment and lose his reason. Fu Yan Ting shouldn't have made such a mistake. Indeed, upon rereading the share transfer agreement, Fu Yan Ting saw the trickery within. He now deeply regretted it. In a moment of impulse, what had he said to Yan Xi when he went to her office? He had said they should go their separate ways.
