Chapter 36 The Boss

For the next few days, Lin Jing was busy painting for Sheng Kuang. Sheng Kuang, Lan Bowen, and the others from yLs were engrossed in some research, spending most of their time in the lounge on the first basement level.

Apart from meals when they occasionally crossed paths, Lin Jing rarely saw anyone else, even though they all lived in the same building. Except for Xiao Kugua, the dog, the first floor was usually empty whenever she went downstairs.

Because she was painting a portrait for Sheng Kuang, Lin Jing was very particular, revising and re-revising the image until it was finally completed after nearly a week.

It was already close to two in the morning. Though Lin Jing wasn't sure if Lan Bowen was asleep, she logged into Weibo and left him a message.

Classmate Tiantian Tiantian: The picture is done. Let me know if it's okay?

Lin Jing didn't feel tired while painting, but after leaving the message for Lan Bowen and taking a hot shower, her eyes were too heavy to stay open. She dried her hair haphazardly until it was only half-dry and fell asleep immediately.

When she woke up the next day, Lin Jing's first action was to log into Weibo. She saw that Lan Bowen had replied to her message at five in the morning.

"It's fine."

"Send the picture to my email, and don't forget to include the PSD version."

Lin Jing took a moment to wake up in bed. After getting up, her first task was to send an email to Lan Bowen, followed by her morning routine and then taking Xiao Kugua for a walk.

Lin Jing slept late and woke up late. The sun was bright outside, so she took a parasol with her. She took Xiao Kugua on a long walk around the neighborhood. As she slowly walked back, holding the umbrella, she was stopped at a corner by a tall, thin young man.

"Excuse me, sorry to bother you, but do you know which way C-1-2 is?"

...

Isn't that Sheng Kuang's place?

Having learned from the previous encounter with the yLs group, Lin Jing was much calmer this time. She raised her umbrella slightly. "Looking for Sheng Kuang?"

The young man paused. "Ah? Yes."

"Then follow me."

"Oh, okay."

They walked in silence. Lin Jing led the way with her dog and umbrella, while the young man, carrying a large backpack slung over one shoulder, followed behind her. Su Dan Novel Network.

Back at the villa, Lin Jing put Xiao Kugua back in his cage and gestured for the young man to sit anywhere. She told him that the others would likely sleep for a few more hours before gradually waking up, and then she went upstairs.

It wasn't until Lan Bowen messaged them to come down for lunch that Lin Jing descended the stairs.

The others had also just woken up, yawning as they gathered around the dining table. Following Lan Bowen's introductions, they were greeting the young man Lin Jing had brought back that morning.

Sheng Kuang was also present and was the first to speak to the young man. From their conversation, Lin Jing learned that the young man's name was Jiang Zui.

After the introductions, it was time to exchange WeChat contacts.

Jiang Zui scanned everyone's QR codes, starting from Lan Bowen's left. After scanning Sheng Kuang's, he glanced at Lin Jing.

Lan Bowen suddenly exclaimed, "This is Lin Jing. She's staying here for a while. Add her as a friend too, we're all friends."

"Okay." After adding the other friends, Jiang Zui reopened his QR code and presented it to Lin Jing.

Lin Jing tapped the scan function and scanned Jiang Zui's QR code.

The page didn't jump to "Add Friend" but to "Send Message."

Lin Jing: "Huh?"

Lan Bowen: "What's wrong?"

Lin Jing didn't say anything but silently showed her phone screen to Jiang Zui.

"Uh?" Jiang Zui paused, looking at the name Lin Jing had used to note him in WeChat, and realizing who it must be. "Xiao Jing-chan?"

Sheng Kuang looked up and glanced at Lin Jing's phone screen.

He saw the name Lin Jing had used to note Jiang Zui in WeChat.

Yang Jian Little Brother.

Little Brother.

Tsk.

Lan Bowen: "How are you guys friends?"

He Wang: "You actually know each other?"

Qin Yu: "How did you two meet?"

Amidst everyone's chatter, Jiang Zui put away his phone. "She's my boss."
