"......??"
Chen Jing was stunned for two seconds, finally realizing something was wrong. He looked at Lan Bowen and lowered his voice, "Is he unhappy?"
Lan Bowen nodded, "He's been unhappy for a while."
Chen Jing: "Why?"
"..."
Lan Bowen felt like he was about to be angered to death. He grabbed Chen Jing with one hand and his suitcase with the other, dragging him to his own room next door. "You can make do in my room for tonight. I'll arrange a place for you to stay tomorrow."
After speaking, Lan Bowen closed the door to his bedroom and returned to Sheng Kuang's bedroom. He closed the door and glanced at Sheng Kuang, who had turned his chair back to face the computer and was continuing to watch replay videos of the match. "Is it alright now?"
Sheng Kuang looked up, "Hm?"
Lan Bowen smiled and gestured with his chin towards his own bedroom.
Sheng Kuang understood he was referring to Chen Jing and smiled, "What could possibly be wrong?"
Lan Bowen knew that even if Sheng Kuang was unhappy, he wouldn't really hold it against Chen Jing. He leaned against the cabinet next to him, "Have you thought about it?"
Sheng Kuang pulled his mouse back and rewatched a team fight he had missed. "Thought about what?"
"What do you think?" Lan Bowen paused, then added, "Are you moving to the third floor tomorrow?"
Sheng Kuang tapped the spacebar, pausing the game replay. He stared at the computer screen for a few seconds, then turned his head. "No."
"No?" Lan Bowen was stunned. After two seconds, he vaguely understood Sheng Kuang's meaning. "Are you thinking of moving up but don't know how to bring it up with Lin Jing? How about this, I'll bring it up tomorrow."
Sheng Kuang looked at him, amused. "Where did you get the idea that I really want to move up?"
"Your eyes and my gut feeling. The original members of yLs don't know you well yet and can't see any clues. Chen Jing is a blockhead. Even if someone kissed in front of him, he might not realize they're in a relationship. But I'm not Chen Jing, I can tell you have feelings for that girl. Don't try to fob me off with the excuse that she's your mom's guest. You can fool Chen Jing with that, but not me. You played games with her to help her rank up, and you asked for her phone case. I've never seen you treat any other girl like this. Since you're interested, why not take this opportunity to move up?"
Sheng Kuang lowered his eyelids and pondered for a few seconds. "Forget it, it's not very appropriate."
Lan Bowen: "Why isn't it appropriate?"
"If I hadn't terminated my contract with gdt and started my own business, that girl would be living here alone, doing whatever she wants every day, and she'd definitely be more free and relaxed than she is now. If I move to the third floor, her living space will be reduced to just that bedroom. Besides, I'm a grown man, and she's a young girl. The balcony upstairs is still connected. Living on the same floor would be a bit inconvenient." Sheng Kuang paused and said, "Isn't there a five-star hotel across the street? Book a suite there for Jiang Xin. Didn't he say a few days ago that his girlfriend wanted to visit him? Let his girlfriend come over and stay with him outside for a while. Anyway, that girl isn't staying long; she'll be back at school after the summer vacation. There's no need to trouble her."
"Alright, I'll do as you say." Lan Bowen agreed according to Sheng Kuang's wishes. He didn't leave in a hurry and leaned against the side, staring meaningfully at Sheng Kuang.
Sheng Kuang saw him lingering without leaving or speaking and raised an eyebrow. "Is there anything else?"
"No," Lan Bowen chuckled. "I just think you're quite serious."
Sheng Kuang tilted his head, genuinely not understanding the meaning of Lan Bowen's words. "Serious about what?"
Lan Bowen just smiled without answering, giving Sheng Kuang a look to figure it out himself. He patted Sheng Kuang on the shoulder and left.
The door was closed.
Sheng Kuang leaned back in his chair for a while, putting his headphones back on.
He had watched two matches and was about to click on the next one when he vaguely guessed what Lan Bowen's last words before leaving referred to.
"I just think you're quite serious."
"I just think you're quite serious about the girl upstairs."
After a long pause, Sheng Kuang smiled faintly and continued watching the match.
ps: I'll add more chapters tonight. I've been stuck for a while, stuck for most of the night.
