Ye Fei Ye

Chapter 57 Trouble

She was all alone, looking forlorn in the yard that had just been rained on.

She resembled a little abandoned kitten.

Then, he couldn't help but tap into WeChat.

By the time he came to his senses, his phone screen was already on the chat page between her and him.

He felt utterly inexplicable at the time. What business was it of his if she wanted to stay outside alone?

Logically, he'd realized all this, his first reaction should have been to put away his phone, turn back to the bedroom, and do whatever he needed to do. But the thought that crossed his mind was that he should send her something.

He thought for a long time but couldn't come up with anything.

Normally, when a group of people got together, he didn't feel particularly distant. But now, when he actually wanted to have a private chat, he realized he had no idea how to start.

They had known each other for a while and lived in the same house, seeing each other several times a day. Logically, they should be quite familiar with each other, but in reality, that wasn't the case at all.

This realization suddenly made him a bit annoyed.

He looked at her downstairs through the window, seeing her sitting there quietly without any intention of coming back.

He became even more annoyed.

He didn't want to let it go. He scrolled through their chat history and, finding nothing he could use as an excuse, he clicked on her Moments.

At 1:50 PM, she posted an update: "Keep going."

It was probably around that time that she had briefly accessed his WeChat, wanting to send him a message.

Then, without hesitation, he typed two words: "Thanks."

After typing them, he couldn't help but curse himself inwardly for being crazy.

Wasn't he crazy?

The girl had wanted to send him a message back then, but that didn't mean what she wanted to send him was "Keep going."

Besides, her "Keep going" might not have been directed solely at him. By eagerly jumping in like that, was he not even going to bother saving face?

The girl's phone screen suddenly lit up.

She seemed to be waiting for someone's message. She quickly grabbed her phone, but when she apparently didn't receive one, her face fell with disappointment.

He felt a string in his heart snap. It didn't matter who her "Keep going" was for; if he saw it, it was for him.

A second after he sent his message, she replied with three question marks, immediately followed by asking if he had sent it to the wrong person.

He chuckled softly, thinking that this girl had very little confidence in herself.

After chuckling, he found that the restlessness that had been piling up in his chest had also dissipated with his laughter.

Sheng Kuang withdrew from his memories, only then realizing that he had admitted to her in the afternoon that he had opened her WeChat wanting to say something to her. In the end, she hadn't told him whether "Keep going" was meant for him.

...

Lin Jing woke up and when she picked up her phone to check the time, she found an unread message on WeChat.

She thought it was Lan Tingting, who had woken up and come to continue gossiping with her about the aftermath of her accidentally sending the wrong message last night. She hadn't expected it to be Sheng Kuang.

miracle: Out of fairness, don't you also have to tell me what you wanted to say to me before the competition yesterday?

The message had been sent at midnight.

About twenty minutes later than her "Oh" reply.

Lin Jing: "..."

Was he still awake in the middle of the night? Had he suddenly woken up thinking he'd been shortchanged, and specifically woken up to leave her a message?

If she hadn't received Sheng Kuang's message, it would have been fine. But seeing his message as soon as she opened her eyes this morning made her also see their chat record from before bed.

He asked her to reply "yes," and she replied "yes."

She was truly like a robot.

Lin Jing grumbled silently to herself, while her ears quietly turned red.

In the quiet of the night, seeing the word "obedient" made her a little fanciful, which was understandable. But in the morning, why was she still so dramatic?

Lin Jing put down her phone and went to wash her face.

Although it was summer, she habitually used warm water. But today, she used cold water and washed her face for a full five minutes.

Perhaps because they had won yesterday's competition, Lan Bowen gave everyone the day off. The group of young men were still asleep, and Lin Jing wasn't particularly hungry, so she took Xiao Kugua out for a walk first.

During the walk, she occasionally tapped into WeChat to check the messages Sheng Kuang had sent her.

Upon returning, after putting Xiao Kugua back in its cage, Lin Jing entered the dining room.

The aunt had already prepared breakfast. Lin Jing didn't bother her and spooned a bowl of congee, then sat at the dining table to drink it.

She was the only one eating breakfast, which was rather boring, so she watched dramas while drinking.

As she was watching, she navigated to WeChat.

Little Jing醬: It was for you.

After sending these words to Sheng Kuang, she went back to watching her drama. Five minutes later, she realized what she had done and opened her mouth.

As expected, as soon as she interacted with Sheng Kuang, her mind became less clear.

Lin Jing clenched her fist, about to lightly tap her head, when Sheng Kuang appeared at the dining room entrance, his eyelids heavy as if he hadn't woken up.
