Chapter 36 A Complete Dictator at Work

The girl's slightly parted red lips were swollen and red, and anyone could tell what had just happened.

What saddened Chen Ling the most was that President Shang had personally ordered her to come in with a purpose.

Having been by Shang Sheng's side for several years, she knew that everything he did was for a reason, and every word he spoke was not superfluous.

Shang Sheng simply wanted her to see Qin Yige's place in his heart.

And those lips, swollen from kisses, represented everything.

Placing the ice pack on the table, Chen Ling left the office with her eyes red.

Qin Yige softly called out, "Shang Sheng."

Shang Sheng looked up.

"Your secretary... seemed to be crying?" She must not have seen it wrong.

"Mm," he replied indifferently, indicating he had heard.

Qin Yige was a little confused, "Why?"

When Chen Ling came in to deliver the ice pack, she hadn't intended to provoke her, nor had she. Why was she crying?

"I don't know, employee emotions are not my concern."

"..." That was quite logical.

After finishing her coffee, Qin Yige wanted to go to the restroom.

She stood up and walked out, only to be stopped by Shang Sheng, "Where are you going?"

"To the restroom."

"Come back!"

She looked at him in confusion.

The man tilted his chin in a certain direction, "The restroom is in the lounge."

Following his gaze, Qin Yige saw the words "Lounge" affixed not far away.

She curved her lips into a smile and gave him a nod, "Thank you!"

"You're welcome!"

Pushing open the door to the lounge, she found a hidden world inside, decorated in a completely different style from the outside.

Outside, there was a wine cabinet, bookshelves, fitness equipment, and entertainment facilities. Inside, there was a comfortable three-meter bed, dark rows of wardrobes and storage cabinets, a solid wood desk with several high-tech gadgets, and a separate bathroom and shower stall.

That dog man sure knows how to enjoy himself!

She wanted to earn a lot of money in the future and enjoy a more luxurious and refined life than him.

After using the restroom, while washing her hands, Qin Yige inadvertently glanced at herself in the mirror, and her heart skipped a beat. Her eyes widened.

She turned off the faucet, leaned closer to the mirror, wishing she could press her entire face against it.

What was wrong with her mouth?

Had she been stung by something?

Oh, she knew. She had been stung by Shang Sheng, that bee!

Recalling the kiss just now, the girl in the mirror blushed again.

Truth be told, kissing Shang Sheng felt... pretty good...

So, Chen Ling must have seen her lips and guessed that Shang Sheng had kissed her to this state, which was why she was upset, right?

For a moment, Qin Yige felt sympathetic towards her.

Unrequited love, wasn't that what it was?

Unlike her, who was lucky enough never to have fallen in love with anyone and never had to experience the pain of unrequited love.

She abruptly splashed water on her cheeks. Qin Yige, that's enough. How did Chen Ling mock you in front of Shang Sheng? You're pitying her? Pitying her is less important than pitying yourself, being gossiped about behind your back all day!

However, there was one thing: she was quite satisfied with Shang Sheng's reaction. He hadn't gossiped about her with Chen Ling, which was truly unexpected!

Emerging from the lounge, Qin Yige was overjoyed. Humming a tune, she approached Shang Sheng, "Brother Shang Sheng, can we get off work now?"

Brother?

Shang Sheng paused his signing. He raised his eyes to glance at the happy girl, then looked in the direction of the lounge.

He mentally guessed if Qin Yige had done something to trick him inside, hence her smugness.

Shang Sheng calmly finished signing his name, closed the file, and asked, "What were you doing in the lounge?"

Qin Yige looked a bit bewildered, "Using the restroom."

"Just using the restroom?"

"What else? What else could I be doing?" She was bewildered by the question.

Did he have other men in his lounge? Was she on a date with another man?

Looking at her innocent and confused expression, Shang Sheng chose to believe her for the time being.

He tidied the desk, turned off the computer and the lights, and they left the office together.

Outside, none of the secretaries or assistants had left work yet. Seeing them diligently working, Qin Yige remarked, "It must be tiring to be your assistant or secretary, having to work overtime until now."

Hearing this, Shang Sheng turned and instructed, "If there's no important work, you can all go home first!"

The secretaries and assistants thanked Shang Sheng first, then looked at Qin Yige, who seemed a little surprised, and didn't forget to thank her, "Thank you, Mrs. President, for your consideration."

Mrs. President: "..."

She had only said a single sentence, and it was considered consideration? This showed that Shang Sheng was definitely a tyrant when it came to work...

As the two entered the elevator and it began to descend, the secretaries and assistants behind them immediately began to chat. Secretary A: "The relationship between President Shang and Mrs. President isn't as bad as the rumors say!"

Assistant B: "Maybe it's because they're married. It was really bad before. Once, I accompanied President Shang out, and I saw them almost get into a fight."

Assistant C: "I can attest to that. The rumors of them being rivals weren't an exaggeration at all. They truly couldn't stand each other. I thought after they got married, it would be chaotic, but unexpectedly, President Shang and Qin Yige look quite affectionate."

Secretary A: "I suspect one of them has a secret crush on the other, but the other person is always arguing with him/her, and their feelings can never be expressed. Until their arranged marriage, the secret admirer finally released their emotions."

Chen Ling, who had been silent, coldly interjected, "How could President Shang have a crush on her? Before marrying Qin Yige, he had already gone to France to discuss marriage with Miss Mu."

It was just that later he was forced to go back on the engagement.

Her attitude displeased Assistant D somewhat, who sarcastically retorted, "Secretary Chen, Qin Yige is now our President's wife, after all. Is your attitude towards the President's wife implying you don't want to work at the company anymore?"

Seeing this situation, the other assistants dared not speak further and quickly lowered their heads to finish their remaining work.

Chen Ling was already in a bad mood, and now she was being lectured by someone of the same rank. She immediately retorted, "Do you think Qin Yige is worthy of the President?"

Assistant D was not intimidated by her, "If Miss Qin isn't worthy, are you, an assistant, worthy of President Shang? Secretary Chen, do you think if President Shang knew you were badmouthing Mrs. President behind her back, he would choose between his secretary and his wife?"

The entire President's secretarial department knew that Chen Ling had a crush on President Shang. She didn't allow it to be mentioned, but that didn't mean everyone couldn't see it.

Chen Ling's sore spot was hit by the last sentence. Just now, in the office, Shang Sheng had almost fired her. Now, being provoked by an assistant, she clenched her fist and said angrily, "No one will think you're mute if you don't speak!"

Secretary A quickly intervened, "Alright, alright, stop arguing. Let's finish up our work. If you don't want to go home, I do!"

Assistant D snorted, lowered her head to work, but as she passed Chen Ling's desk to leave, she said to her, "Secretary Chen, there are surveillance cameras overhead. Be careful with your words and actions, don't be too arrogant. Be careful if someone hands over the recent surveillance footage to President Shang, and you'll be in big trouble!"
